Omg just heard the coolest artist ever. Super underground you def haven’t heard of her. Her name is Lana Del Rey and she’s from arkansas nevada alabama mississippi kansas New York. She’s very vintage and Americana. Go listen to her before she blows up too much

“Could she be big like Lady Gaga”  if only these 2012-ers knew where LDR and LG would be in 9 years
Glad LDR has been able to maintain a steady and stable (and acclaimed) career for almost a decade. This is so rare and such a blessing.

It's crazy to imagine how we were used to the rich production back then, and now... we fear for more piano only ballads... what happened?

Right? I'm 99.9% sure that filter creates a bruised texture over it. Idk why people are obsessed with dissecting the meaning behind something so simple

    Wait-
Lana would totally eat that music styles. She could doing something interesting in funk or house ( and invite Jorja, Kali and SZA to these songs). Techno in Lana's version would be collapse

the bruises theory makes literally zero sense

if those colors mean anything at all then i'd like to think blue stands for sadness that man was about to bring, green and grey for calm and happiness she feels with her friends. and the "bruises" in covers are obviously bc of picsart filters.

Better stop believing that every time Lana uses colors she is referring to bruises, then y'all are complaining that everyone believes that she is romanticizing the abuse (Wasn't that why they attacked her last year?) Why don't you think she just wanted the banisters to be blue or gray or green and that's it.
Seriously, on twitter people are obsessed with relating everything to abuse since that topic was mentioned, not everything is related to that and I doubt that Lana is referring to that in those songs. That topic was only mentioned in ultraviolence, let it die now.

a gay can dream I keep hoping she chose Mike Dean because of his work with other artists (and just his background in synth-heavy music in general), but it is hard to imagine her moving drastically from her current sound.

Then again, she’s also noticeably leaned into different genres several times (like aspects of trip hop for BTD desert rock elements in UV, folk in COCC, etc), so hopefully we’ll—at some point in the near-ish future—see some variation in terms of genre and production

Literally deep house and techno are theeee gayest genres. If you think that techno is straight people music clearly you have never been to a BDSM/leather party

I don’t understand how Lana releases 3 stripped back ballads, teased a new piano heavy song, and everyone here is still convinced she’s going to go synthy hip-hop next.
