Why do I have a feeling that this album is going to emotionally destroy us? When she talked about bringing old collaborators, friends and family to write this album...putting old and new songs on it. It's like with this album she's curated everything that defines her. It feels like a farewell and an epilogue to this 10-year chapter. I don't know how I'm supposed to feel. I'm heartbroken but on the other hand I think she'll feel liberated. Social media can be insufferable and one's mental health should be their top priority. On the other hand, @Arcadia is right. It feels like she's forcing herself to smile. I really hope nothing bad has happened and this is just us overreacting but this video is slightly unsettling.

And I can't believe Blue Banisters & Arcadia are playing on Spotify as I'm writing this...

I definitely think there's more to it than her just needing to refresh from social media. Most people don't make a video about deactivating - they just do it. Also what she said about keeping her circle small seems strange to me, like something happened that made her take this action. She seemed sad too, like a genuine sadness of sorts. I'm not trying to make a conspiracy out of it because quite frankly I find it in poor taste, but there's more going on behind the scenes that we may not be aware of

I think she knows what she’s doing. Dropping off the socials will create even more interest and make her even more mysterious again. It’ll probably be better for her mental health, too. I just hope she doubles down on her art, and uses the time away to have even more wild life experiences that turn into material for future magnum opuses! We’re so spoiled, and we know she’s dedicated to her art, so it’s sad yet exciting, in the best possible way. As long as she’s okay.

And we get our second album of the year in a month. Who cares about promotion. Let’s celebrate the music!

I wouldn't worry too much about Lana not being on social media anymore. We're still getting the album and as she said many more afterwards, and we'll most likely be updated on things through her managers and other people on her team's socials (+ interviews if she decides to do those). There's a lot of celebrities who aren't on social media who still have fan bases, fan bases that get content at that. It'll be weird to not have a livestream after the album comes out, though

I think this video message speaks to her wish to live a simple life — I wonder if having a very public, large following on social media that anyone can access at any time creates this feeling of no boundaries (even if we can control what we post, there is still some psychological element to lack of privacy).

I think this action could be a way of asserting control over how accessible you are, and of course, for someone with a legacy as grand and profound as Lana, that’s bound to create some internal conflict when this is your life’s work and passion. I’m sending her nothing but love and I wish her peace.

i agree that this video/announcement is strange, she sounds like she's about to cry throughout the whole video and she doesn't sound very assured... maybe she just doesn't care about social media and maybe it's an accumulation of the past year or so, since qftc, it just seems... strange... i feel like weird saying that because i've quit using social media mostly for my own mental wellbeing, so i can understand if that's a part of it... but how is she going to stay connected to her fans? how is she going to promote & announce? i guess she has twitter, but... idk...

This is so bittersweet. I'm obviously happy for her, to see that she's decided to put herself and her mental health first. But it's sad to think... that we are not going to see much of her anymore. We'll miss her, for sure. But we wish her the best

Her best set of album covers — sophisticated and striking, yet subdued. They really epitomize her greatness as a songwriter and storyteller, and capture her essence perfectly.

Why would Ben be excited about Lana's two upcoming projects if one of them is a record that will be released by a new label (Capitol) though?

And NME (unsurprisingly) put it #1 on their Best New Tracks Spotify playlist.  BB is coming for NFR's wig.
