Just listened to “The Grants” not sober and okay maybe I see why grant truthers feel like that. The progression of the verses have the darkness of A&W yet the chorus etc (idk what they’re called)  are more uplifting and I think this is truly a better opener than I originally thought. We need to just let Ultraviolence 2.0 rest because she’s coming with (perhaps) her magnum opus. Listening to lyrics, I (ofc) googled and the lyrics surrounding the thought of her death and the memories she hopes to bring to her deathbed I think that it’s truly a beautiful song. Maybe I don’t like the intro as much, because Ms Thunder girlies haven’t grown on me but I’ve listened to the song enough to appreciate it now

Omg this is what I’m most afraid of - Ocean Boulevard being similar to COCC and BB and then she keeps in this comfort zone… I really dislike COCC and BB, sorry guys  when I heard COCC I was sure that I would never dislike more a Lana’s album, and then BB came out
Ocean Boulevard title track didn’t get me either as I thought it was a more produced version of BBS songs so I’m afraid she continues that way. oh but I didn’t hear any leaks so I may be reaaaally wrong (hope so )

having gone back and moved close to 200 posts of arguments and general off topic discussions that could have been taken to the random discussion thread in the first place, a few things need to be said about the current state of this thread, and indeed the boards in general
 
the point of this website is to discuss music (and other topics), with threads pertaining to their respective subject matters. myself and the other mods always want to facilitate free conversation, as opinions and thoughts on things are welcome and encouraged to be discussed as long as rules are followed. at the same time, however, there is an expectation for opinions and thoughts to be respected by other members of the community (a rule which has always been present but seemingly forgotten as of late). arguing incessantly serves no purpose other than clogging up a pre-release thread that people try to get actual information from and results in a barrage of 'did anything happen' posts, which i'm sure you can agree gets a tad grating after a while
 
the point is, please be respectful of other users' opinions. i love reading peoples thoughts and feelings on music, be it positive or negative, and i enjoy the rebuttals as to why someone does or doesn't like a certain opinion, but only when it is respectful. there has been a noticeable shift in the general mood of the pre-release thread as of late, which is an ongoing discussion amongst the mod team, and information is being compiled regarding this; but in response to a post i saw earlier, this website is for everyone. running people off the website to serve a gatekeep-ey purpose or keeping morale low by arguing constantly about random things are two key factors, and we want to keep this a positive community for everyone by tackling this. abusive comments have never been tolerated here, and that will continue to be the case
 
anyways, TL;DR please stop fighting, we just want to have fun. no one of us is out to get anyone, the mod team does not want to impose the rules more than we have to and nobody here has any biases against others. miss liz just released three of her best songs in a while, so lets all stream, discuss and anticipate the coming album

We are aware that Lana's latest album has leaked, and tracks are circling off-site.
We are monitoring these developments but at this point we need to refer people back to the original guidelines which were agreed to when users joined the site, notably these two: 
Anyone caught trading, or if any mod has their suspicion of a person trading, will have their PM access disabled as well as the ability to post status updates on the main page, and on the pages of other members. Posting or sending illegal download links to officially released content available for purchase or streaming whether a leak or post-release is strictly forbidden. Additionally, requesting links to such content is also not allowed. Violating these rules will result in a warning points, mod queues, and if especially ban and continuously breaking the rules, a ban.
While we do permit users to discuss material before it's been released, lately there have been extremely malicious content mixed in and masquering as material for the album which is deliberately misleading and distressing to most users. You must understand that we cannot control what you chose to do off-site, but strongly recommend that you do not engage with any file you're not sure on the origin on. Certain posts have been refered to external bodies, and needless to say if any user is found in connection with these the penalty will be severe. 
Do not try to be clever - don't use words that rhyme in place of a website, don't refer to any offsite websites where leaks are being held, don't discuss the content outside of music from files offsite. These will all result in a warning point and mod queue until release day. 
I also want to remind you of two other things this moment: 
Please stay on topic. We will be liberally giving out warning points and mod queues for those breaking this rule in the Pre-Release thread, as we are needing to ensure all posts are conforming to our guidelines and standards.  If it's too much, log off. It truly is that simple. Music is the most wonderful thing in the world but can really heighten emotions, and although you're excited to discuss and listen to new music, it's just as important to your mental health to log off, enjoy something in real life and take a break from here. Check-in with yourself and make sure you're ok.  We look forward to celebrating the album with you on it's release, but please use common sense and make sure you're complying with the above because you're not going to find leniency as the default reply.

For real. I do like the song as I said before but damn…people are just blindly throwing compliments and saying they love it and she ate etc. It’s a beautiful song, the lyricism of this era will be unmatched, but the production itself does feel BBish, as if we’re still stuck in a loop. The insiders were gassing this the FUCK up saying it was different from anything she’d ever done and her magnum opus and…lyrically yes (aside from the last 2 minutes being “don’t forget me” sounding like one of those weird upbeat pharmaceutical commercial song covers) but production wise? You start the song and it’s IYLDWM with *better lyrics and LMLYLAW with orchestra on top. I’m excited for the orchestra, the piano did not disappoint, and I heard the beautiful sound of actual drums somewhere in there but this doesn't feel completely different as people were saying. That’s not to say I didn’t give her 45 dollars at 10:14AM as soon as I found the preorder link but I am holding out hope for the album itself! 

Could the Jimmy part in A&W be from the scrapped more upbeat songs that Lana and Jack said they scrapped after NFR?

There’s a certain Lana I always imagine in my head while listening to a song and for me, A&W is definitely is the picture of Lana on the motorcycle for Interview Mag
