I don't have a horse in the race, I'm not American. But my two cents: Democrats just didn't do all that well. The inflation is super high (it hit 9.1% in June 202, a 40 year high, as opposed to Trump's 1.9% average), the buying power is low, the median age of homebuyers is like 38 (!) - an all time high, huge chunks of tax-payers' money are spent on funding genocides, as opposed to medical care,  Kamala is very much in the "I support Israel no matter what" camp, which is just vomit-inducing.... 

 

I'm not a Trump supporter at all - he's probably worse in a lot of ways - but I kinda knew this was going to happen. 

 

I don't think paying celebrities like Beyonce to endorse you was a particularly smart move either. Like, your game-plan should be solid enough; why would I endorse you just because you have Lady Gaga and Maya Rudolph performing for you like monkeys? Not to mention that they've kept a president with barely a working cognitive function. I mean, Biden rode that train until he wasn't able to speak, literally.

 

The whole thing is bizarre, and America needs some fresh candidates, tbh.

It’s also weird that down ballot results show that many people voted Trump for president, but voted blue for senate/house races. Very strange. 

If Harris is disliked, how badly would have Biden lost? Democrats need some young, fresh candidates. Asap.

like, maybe i'm being dramatic, but i just hate how much stupidity, ignorance, and hatred exist, why would god allow for that, especially now, it all felt different in 2016, it wasn't fun, and it wasn't good, yes, but... now it just feels so doomsy, i don't know, it all just feels so dark

 

we could lose our reproductive rights, our rights to marry whoever we love, wars could escalate, more countries could be targeted, and more innocent people could die, how could i believe anything exists if i stand by and see everything go down the drain? do we not matter?

You're not being dramatic, I feel the same way a lot of the time, especially since I work in the humanitarian sector. On top of all of the things you listed, this man has basically become an idol to people who now feel they're free and right to be misogynistic, racist, xenophobic, homophobic, transphobic, etc. His presence and return to the office is a horrible thing, I wish the damage he does would only shoot his supporters on the foot - but it will cause damage everywhere unfortunately.

He's been on a crusade to end and tear apart the U.S asylum system since he came into office and I'm sure he will continue what he started, probably will pull funding from aid organizations, militarize even further the border and he already stated he'd start a massive deportation campaign. It's going to be pure dread.
