Jesus. I just watched her Instagram video and my heart sank. I'm still processing it, just like we all are. I do agree with many of you that it is strange that she is doing this as her new album is being rolled out.  It reminds me of an interview she did many years ago, where she was talking about her past and how she spent a lot of time volunteering and doing work to help others. I wonder if she's getting back to doing that. I also remember interview a long time ago that mentioned she was looking at possibly writing a musical or something for Broadway? I could be wrong, ultimately I just hope she's okay and that nothing tragic happened to trigger all of this. When I think back on different things she said over the years, I remember when Ultraviolence was being rolled out and she said made a statement in an interview, along the lines about how she didn't want anyone to hear it. I really do believe she struggles with Fame and all that comes with it, and now that her sister's baby has been born, maybe she's realizing that she wants to dedicate her life to other things right now. Sorry for rambling, my head is spinning right now, I just really truly hope she's okay. I was paying attention to her tone and her blinking and she definitely seemed sad in that video. Still, I'm looking forward to the new record just like everyone else is ❤

I know I’m going to sound like one of THOSE girls when I say this but I was listening to NFR at work while I was cashiering when she posted that video and The Greatest was quite literally playing when I got the notification and paused my music to listen.  I just realized it because I opened my music and the greatest was on pause and I hadn’t touched my music app since then. Wild.

Why do I have a feeling that this album is going to emotionally destroy us? When she talked about bringing old collaborators, friends and family to write this album...putting old and new songs on it. It's like with this album she's curated everything that defines her. It feels like a farewell and an epilogue to this 10-year chapter. I don't know how I'm supposed to feel. I'm heartbroken but on the other hand I think she'll feel liberated. Social media can be insufferable and one's mental health should be their top priority. On the other hand, @Arcadia is right. It feels like she's forcing herself to smile. I really hope nothing bad has happened and this is just us overreacting but this video is slightly unsettling.

And I can't believe Blue Banisters & Arcadia are playing on Spotify as I'm writing this...

remember earlier when lustforlife said blue banisters is "the end of lana del rey"? i wonder if that her deactivating her social media has something to do with that...

i'm still confused by what she means by "we"... WHO'S "WE"? if it was only her deactivating, wouldn't she said "i"? i'm trying not to sound like a conspiracy theorist or anything like that but something is off

hmmmm this does seem more and more strange as i process this...
-posted a pic standing in front of capitol and sparks convo that she may be switching labels
-posts cryptic video with subliminal messages hinting trust, secret projects, smaller circle...
-literally looks like she’s being held at gun point and says “we are deactivating”
all in the middle of an album rollout nonetheless

Tbh, I think there’s definitely more to it than just “I’m tired of the negativity/want to deactivate bc idc abt stuff like this”. I felt weird watching the video, there was something unsettling to it. As @Arcadia said, I don’t want to be all conspiracy theories on this, bc I have some, but yeah….
On a lighter note: I’ll stop saying bad stuff abt Guns and Roses if it means she’s not deactivating

It's all left me feeling unsettled... I don't know why... Something feels off! I hope she's ok. I can understand needing to be away from social media. People post such hurtful stuff about her

She took a break during the Honeymoon era and all that introspection helped it become one of her best records so maybe it's a good thing on the musical aspect.
What worries me is that if she really wants to focus on other parts of her life, social media was never an impediment before, so why now? Maybe her niece changed things. I hope Lana is okay and it's not hurtful comments and other stuff that got to her.

i meannnnnnn good for her? we've clearly not seen the last of her, she's just taking it offline (for now, she said, to be fair) and staying lowkey, which i'm all for if that makes her happy & lets her focus on her (other) work

but i'm also HELLA confused about, what this means in terms of her career and what we'll get to see of it, and how we'll get to see it if she's still going to be making art for public consumption (which seems to be her intention, despite everything)

being on hiatus is one thing, going radio silent is another completely

it's like, are we gonna witness the resurgence of her dozens of burner accounts, or is this actually it

    until, whenever

Tbh, I agree tho. There’s was something off-putting, the way she smiled, also something in her eyes, idk. Made me think there’s something more to it but ig we’ll never know
