wtf are you talking about? she's a singer, music is her job, it takes work for artists to write music, record vocals, work with producers to get the exact sound they want, and decide what gets released, she also does the occasional photoshoot or interview, also, not to mention the fact that it can take hours, days, or even months just to do one song, she shouldn't have to do anything she doesn't want to do, her job can be difficult, being famous isn't easy, but even if her job was easy or more like a hobby, she still doesn't owe anybody anything

I just want to put my 2 cents in about the quietness/muffled sound of the album. This is because Lana has gradually stopped competing in what’s called “the loudness war” in music, which is where pop music is made to be as loud as possible without distorting. This is great for streaming and shopping mall speakers and stuff because any song from any musician can play in sequence and it will all be at the same volume. Here you can see the waveforms of Born To Die, Norman, Candy Necklace and Say So by Doja Cat. See how Say So is just a solid bar of black? If Candy Necklace wanted to explode into a loud outro, it could, but Say So is entirely a loud explosion and can’t go anywhere else. It also means that in the context of an album, if Lana wants one song to get louder than all the rest as part of the emotional trajectory of the album (Grandfather), she is able to do that. In comparison to any given pop music right now, Lana’s will sound quiet and muffled because it hasn’t had the Father, the Son AND the Holy Spirit compressed and EQ’d out of it

One thing I’ve noticed about this album is the most popular songs are the ones that aren’t personal. Like Fishtail, Peppers, Taco Truck, the second half of A&W, Candy Necklace, and Paris, Texas all remind me of songs from her first four albums, where they were a lot less specific and personal

Please nobody talks enough about "You've been acting pretty restless (Unsettling bar skip / Tempo change) Dancing like the young and reckless"
There are so many heart racing / anxious moments on the album
"I couldn't hear WHAT THEY SAID ON THE TELEPHOONE (dramatic wave crash-like strings)" is another favorite

I think she did it because she either likes the way he preaches or she likes the message of that sermon in particular (loving is better than lusting). But it's also the opposite of what she sings about in A&W, and in Candy Necklace she's again obsessed, so it seems like his words have no real impact on her.

i really like Looking For America
to be fair, no it's not insanely memorable/"replayable" (if that's peoples problem with it) BUT whenever i do think of it & put it on, i find it to be such a nice listen & thoroughly enjoy it
the entire second verse n "took a train up to Lake Placid- that's another place in time where i used to go to drive-ins & listen to the blues" especially is SO BEAUTIFUL & has the perfect nostalgia factor
