I don't think it's as much fearmongering as it is letting people know what's at stake in this election

 

I know he said that but he has no power to stop elections even if he wins, and even if he used Executive Orders to fulfill his autocratic wishes, they could still be stopped by the courts.

you think the courts will stop an authoritarian trump era? when he gave the supreme court their jobs and handed over the majority of the supreme to the republicans? sure, it shouldn't happen and in theory isn't supposed to be able to happen, but it's trump we're talking about who shouldn't even be running because of his last election yet here we are

Unfortunately the current Supreme Court is majority conservative and is filled with judges that support Trump and they recently passed a ruling that gives presidents much more power so I wouldn't rule it out entirely.

Also, I think its important for people to know that he is saying things like this and will absolutely do it if he's given the power to, because it may motivate them to vote when they otherwise might not

I know that Florida isn’t really a swing state anymore, but Republicans are up like 22% in in person voting today. If there is a similar pattern across other states, it could be a short night for dems.

this might be true but i don't think we expected much from florida in terms of flipping. maybe if you follow some political influencers, but reality is it's most likely staying red (even though everyone i know voted blue... but we'll see.) remember, there's a lot of old people who don't work and probably are voting now or already voted so the next several hours, as younger people go out to vote, will be more likely to vote blue. there's still several hours to go so we'll see but it's not looking like florida will go blue imo

Usually you find out night of, but the consensus seems to be it’s gonna be at least a few days before all the states finish counting due to all the early ballots. 

edit: also, if kamala gets announced they’ll put up a huge fight too. so i don’t see myself relaxing regardless
