i don't really understand why jokes, gifs, memes, etc. can't have any place here? i understand needing a balance, and without any excessive spamming, yet, people like making jokes and i just think it's ridiculous that every post that's a joke or has gifs, or isn't "serious" discussion is moved, therefore being wasted because no one's gonna see it, a fan-forum isn't really the #1 place for strictly "serious" discussion, that's just how i feel, in the chemtrails pre-release era, it was more lenient and although we had moments where we did spam excessively, you could make jokes and posts with lyrics & gifs, and they could stay in it's respective thread, it's clear how the majority of users feel

my final thoughts on the whole mod moving posts drama is that: if it were blatant new user trolls then obviously delete or move the posts, but literally all of the ‘off-topic/spam’ posts going on in this thread that end up being moved are being initially posted by consistently active and prominent users of this board. at a certain point i think it’s fair to just go with what is popular? and in this case most ppl want this thread to be a cumulation of news AND memes/funny posts/jokes. also not being funny but only weirdos actually routinely check out the Random Lana Discussion/Instagram Updates threads let our girls get traffic on their funny off-topic posts!

To be honest babes my internet is awful and pages take a long time to load if they have a ton of gifs but I don’t really mind they are enjoyable and funny and those kind of posts are the reason I keep coming back to this forum. I think there should be a pinned Lana news post on the homepage which only mods can update (like @Clampigirl’s timeline). It helps the guests & people who Only want news. Also, I don’t really think it’s hard to navigate like usually when something happens everyone is hyper-on-topic so if nobody’s on topic just kinda assume nothings happened or check the timeline x

the gifs n personalities on this forum are literally why i joined. plus this thread isnt hard to navigate at all if you just keep up with it. we’re hype for a new album n wanna talk about all things lana that could or could not have influenced this release. pages n pages of funny n lighthearted posts some even completely related to the topic have been moved for no reason. let people have fun. i can see a ton of members becoming inactive in the near future because of it.

I think we only have this one. We are just spamming, making jokes and starting gif wars because right now there is nothing to talk about. So we can at least have a little bit of fun. But if you have an interesting idea or question people usually join you and start a more serious discussion, so you can do the first move

nobody's complaining about spamming, it seems like any post that's a funny gif post or similar gets moved, even if it's "on-topic", the occasional post with lyrics & gifs is not spam, especially since nothing's happening right now, and i feel like i've had posts moved when it was unnecessary, if i'm posting it in this thread, it's because i feel like it belongs here, i do think funny posts with lyrics & gifs belong because they bring humor and they're about songs which are from this album, nobody's really posting in the designated lyric threads because they might as well be posted here, more people will see them and it brings a social & fun energy to this forum

THISSSS! one of the reasons I even joined lanaboards was because of the big personality’s here and how funny people are, when there’s literally crumbs to work with we can’t just talk about the same 3 songs and album cover lmao the gifs and discussions is basically a time capsule of exactly what was happening during during this time but when things are constantly being moved it kinda begins to make this pre release bland tbh. I completely agree that there should be a pinned post where only mods can post giving the latest updates!

I also think the best idea would be to have a pinned message or something as a timeline in the first page with all the news and info we have so far. Even when we are on topic, only with album speculation and wishful thinking (manifestations) we fill like 2-4 pages a day even if nothing happened so I don't think casual people would read all that to see if there are any news. That way everyone would be happy: - People who just want news could check the first page - People who want to have fun and pass the time could still speculate, post memes and whatever (obviously regarding BB). I agree that other albums discussion/slandering shouldn't be here. Nikki and her other friends jokes are lowkey on topic tho cause they are mentioned in the title track so they are part of the BB universe/lore now

With all of the smileys users are finally allowed to spam I just want to say over the last ten months I think it's pathetic that my minor gif spamming depicting my sometimes unhinged or messy roles in my posts has often made users say I've set the discussion back hundreds of pages.

especially since absolutely nothing is happening right now, i don't see why we can't allow some lighthearted jokes & gifs, i'll admit, i can understand the gif spamming being a problem, although i personally don't mind it, i don't think creating a separate thread is a good idea at all, we just need balance, i think moving gif lyric posts into the song threads is just... excessive, and i think slightly off-topic discussions are okay since sometimes discussions will become off-topic, i just feel like it'd be a lot more enjoyable here if there was some lenience, we've complained about this before, so it should be obvious what the general consensus is...
