i think ultimately charli will most likely go back to experimental music, i never really considered her a hyperpop artist. she clearly still has a love for the experimental sound, she made xcxoplex/911 remix/etc very recently remember that this album was originally supposed to come out before what is now known as how i'm feeling now

hyper pop means nothing and charli herself has never done anything too hyperpop-y (whatever that means) aside from HIFN N1A and Pop 2 were not hyperpop although still experimental, and I wish she'd go that route plus Crash in and of itself is not an innovation and I think even she has no clue what she's doing now edit: to clarify, PC music and hyper pop are not the same thing. Charli is way closer to PC music than to hyper pop

Anyway, i'd love to hear an album where Lana goes as biblical as she can be. (Paradise, Tropico-ish but deeper into that) I forgot how magnificent Lana x Religion stuff was.

This is very true, i mean, her hyperpop era was her giving her best to prove that "hey i'm not just some random chick who has dipped in a few pop songs that y'all saw on the charts, i am the moment that pop culture couldnt ask for more" - She doesn't have anything to prove with this genre anymore, she's an artist & she changes, she grows, she needs to conquer a new high to expand her artistry wise & enrich her catalogue. I've been following her career since her tumblr days and i gotta say, she is one of the artists out there who gives you DIVERSITY & quality. Really sad at the fact that there's so many of her stans (mostly post Vroom Vroom era) dont get it & whining & bitching everyday about anything she does. Yes, you dont have to like everything she puts out but stay respectful is the best way that u can show her your genuine love & valid appreciation she deserves. And also, it's sad that some of the hyperpop stans literally lack of recognition of the works she did before Vroom Vroom, even went as far as trashing them (my poor baby SUCKER didnt deserve the hate).

hi girls, i've been a longtime charli stan but i'm a newbie in this site so bear with me lol i'm sadly not feeling this era, which sucks because i know how much it means to charli. i think baby is a bop and so is good ones but the other 2 singles aren't hitting that hard for me. but honestly i feel like this type of sound is so been there done that with pop girls and it sucks to see charli cave in to it after giving us such innovative material over the years. of course ill wait to hear the full album, maybe my perception will change but this sound is kinda boring to me lol. i'm not one of those snobs who is like she MUST do pc music forever!1!1! but i wish to see something more inspiring and not songs that almost any other indie girl can sing, but maybe that's just me. i think what makes n1a so special is that it hits the mark for both audiences, the pc girls like us and the gp with basic taste all in one. i get that her and atlantic are trying to cater to the gp but some of the people who care about her more (us) are losing interest instead because we know she can be more inspiring. sorry for the paragraph lol ive been lurking and wanted to get that out.

New shapes remains the best song imo, every new single just make me appreciate it more and more but the lack of bridges, underwhelming choruses, flat production.. I normally don’t have a problem with short songs, but good ones, and beg for you just sound unfinished. There’s a way to make fun, ‘sell out’ pop music without making boring songs. so far her ‘janet album’ isn’t really doing justice to the source material she says influenced the songs in the first place i’m still looking forward to crash tho

this is kind of an lol moment to me because (while this is very true and it’s really annoying that so many people fail to take more experimental music seriously) there’s also so many people within that experimental community who Only take experimental music seriously and think that anything that’s more simple or follows the normal pop structure is like, terrible, bland, and uninspired its like there’s no winning

I think these singles are great… for a more traditional pop sound, they’re very good, if not still a little more alternative leaning, maybe… Charli still has her presence and stamp on each track… No generic top 40, 4 chords and trap beats here… Good pop music? Yes… AND she’s pushed herself quite a lot with the choreo, don’t forget. She’s shifted, for sure, but I’d say for what she’s offering, she’s done great so far.

I don’t think charli plans at all she’s very instinctive and impulsive as a person and changes her mind a lot. she could go anywhere next, there’s no guessing but I doubt she’ll go back to the PC sound-she will always experiment though.

What would have been the reasoning for releasing both a 'Tropico' EP and either a Paradise EP or a Paradise of full album length after BTD? If for some reason Interscope scrubbed the idea of her releasing both within a year or six months of one another (or simultaneously), wouldn't Lana still have been able to release Paradise as a full album? I know, I know. Her brain does work in mysterious ways. I recall after UV's release, she said she wanted to "rerelease UV with different songs," which made no sense to me, and could only lead to confusion. Why not just release the "new songs" as a new album with a different name (like 'Honeymoon')?
