I was rewatching Lana’s livestream from the Blue Banisters release day, and when speaking in Spanish with @/lanaisababe, she mentions that she spent time in the northern part of Spain, saying “Del Norte”. Now, I know this is purely coincidental - but she said that she went to Spain in between summers at boarding school because she couldn’t come home to Lake Placid (and we can infer why from what she’s shared about her family of origin trauma and the context of other things discussed in that livestream). Following some of the songs on BB and what we know about Behind the Iron Gates, could it be that “Del Norte County” or “Del Norte” is indeed in some way related to LDR9, and perhaps it’s representative of her shedding more light on her familial and personal history (and perhaps the dynamics that preceded her time in Spain at fifteen)? There’s something significant about the north for Lana (northern Spain, Northern California, and the “north country” she referred to at the Variety Awards when speaking about her grandma: Lake Placid). Just some reaching for today lol - but I thought that was funny. I doubt it’s related, but it’s fun to think about!

Just had a look at it via Google Maps and found a place called Fort Dick. There‘s a Fort Dick Market, a Fort Dick Bible Church and a company called Yaas Jas technology. Guess that‘s the main location of LDR 9 but no Hilton Hotel

I'm currently playing the Chemtrails and Blue Banisters albums back to back and enjoying it soooo dang much. I haven't really had a chance to sit down and listen to the albums in the last couple of months. I needed a break from both albums because I played the hell out of both of them after their release and man, they've aged like fine wine IMO. Even songs that at the time of release weren't my fave (But still great Ehem Let me Love you Like A Woman) are hitting right now. Lol. Maybe it's because I took a break from them and haven't really played them in a while... But Blue Banisters is soooo good. I love the album as a whole, and the previously unreleased songs are sooooooo good. I'm glad that Lana finally felt comfortable and happy enough to find a spot for them. I'm sure that she has her reasons for finally including them on an album and didn't just throw them on a tracklist as filler.

people upset she is most likely resigning with Atlantic as if they haven't pretty much let her do whatever she wanted for the Crash era but with more financial support. I know you're all scarred from the 2015-2017 debacle but that was 90% an issue with her management (as shown by how much she's been able to do since signing with Brandon Creed) & Atlantic (and all major labels) were also freaking out trying to adjust to the shift to streaming. her relationship with Atlantic seems great (meaning theyre going to offer her a good deal) and she understands now how to play the game on her own terms. im actually really exciting.

Is it likely? No. Will I keep dreaming? Yes

Imagine if we get a moment similar to the second verse of this song (where the video starts playing) on LDR9 I’d love a record that’s a blend of tracks like Is This Happiness x Oh Say Can You See x Religion x WFWF x Heroin x Old Money I feel like that dreamy, quiet atmosphere would transition pretty easily from the more subtle soundscape of Blue Banisters, and having Erickson add some live, orchestral arrangements to that general vibe would be lovely tbh
