Not to downplay Rob's talent but I think we are overestimating his contributions to the album. He's probably just playing the piano in a couple of songs, it's not like he's the main LDR9 producer and we're only getting sad piano ballads about their family

i think the only thing "crash" & "future nostalgia" have in common is that they were both able to take a familiar sound but also make it their own. I think there's a big difference in being influenced by something over just copying and pasting. I don't think theres anything wrong with being inspired with the past especially with how far technology has come in music. On top of that,A LOT of charli's music from the past has big 80's vibes so its not completely left field of her either. I'm genuinely proud of her she did a really good job.

I never doubted Charli for a second with the sell-out concept.. so happy to see the majority loving it + it being received so well by critics. I feel like she is just one of those once-in-a-lifetime artists that has a true passion for music at its core.. like Bjork in a way. You can just tell she lives & breathes music. Despite the short track lengths, the songs are all composed so well that they don't even feel that short. Crash is like a movie.. beginning, middle, & end.. AND THEN SOME!! at only 2:10!!! that takes talent, vision, a deeper understanding of music composition!! I've been a fan of Charli from the jump and I've always known she had that true understanding of music but it's so gratifying to see it applied to a sell-out mpg concept album. Crash is definitely one of her best albums.. for me it's a close second to Number 1 Angel.

my issue with this album is that

Ok so i'm OBSESSED with CRASH (title track) and well had to make a poster for it

First of all- I really don’t understand how anyone isn’t simply IN LOVE with this album as an established Charli fan. It really does touch back on parts of all her previous eras and is so cohesive visually and sonically. Like… I really can’t say enough good things about it. I love her so much and can’t wait to listen to this record a million more times. Twice = song of the century btw. also suuuuper annoyed our orders are delayed up to 5 weeks. Like clearly this album has been done since mid-late 2021 and was pushed for a spring 2022 release to have physicals ready. And they are STILL delayed. I’m pissed. Especially since (if I understand this correct) with the recent change in Billboard rules, any copy that does not ship on release week will not count toward first week sales. just a mess, not her fault though.

can we take some time to appreciate the king, the legend, the master of sound, big mixer and engineer Geoff Swan? for those who don't know, he's the reason why Charli's stuff is always great for us to listen. ISTG i can't imagine someone better than him in mixing all of the landscapes that Charli inserts in her discography. a true legend <3

Ok you SPILLED i’m so glad somebody said what i’ve been thinking for years… Lana will always have a special place in my heart, but for real. Charli stole my number 1 (angel) spot in like 2016 and i don’t think i’ll ever love another artist as much as i love charli now.

She was doing signings all day long. They sold 600 signed LPs in Rough Trade. Then she went to HMV after, and apparently another record store too. Plus she was performing Thursday night & travelled to London not too long ago. It's been a hectic couple of days, she's probably already tired herself out.

Has anyone shared this? The other day someone tweeted about seeing Lana & Jack together. Not sure how reliable it is, but it was tweeted before Rob first tweeted about being in the studio x

I'll take the BB piano ballads over the NFR piano ballads. At least on BB they felt a bit more imaginative and they didn't have that cheap metal/tinny sound. If Jack is involved again, and I assume we'll hear more piano tunes with Rob also being involved, let's hope they do it right this time around.

the ocean's certified ranking of crash 1. Twice - ∞/10 (While it's not the most replayable track, I don't know what other track would be number 1. Miss you Sophie. ) 2. Lightning - 10/10 (True Romance mashed up with disco. Enough said with that.) 3. Constant Repeat - 10/10 (Europop from my gay fantasies.) 4. Used To Know Me - 9.5/10 (See above.) 5. Move Me - 9/10 (Sounds like a really good hug.) 6. Baby - 9/10 (Song I want to writhe on the floor to pretending i'm in a music video.) 7. Crash - 8.75/10 (Classic charlene opener.) 8. New Shapes - 8.5/10 (So underrated and I love it sounds like a top of the world song.) 9. Yuck - 8.5/10 (THE grower of the album. I'm starting to really love the R&B groove on this.) 10. Good Ones - 8/10 (A little out of place but still an absolute mega bop.) 11. Every Rule - 7.5/10 (Sounds like an AG song with Charli which definitely isn't bad but seems a bit out of place.) 12. Beg For You - 6.5/10 (Great idea, but a lil undercooked. Such a waste of an excellent Rina feature.) overall i'd say this album is a 9/10
