I mean it's fun but I think she shouldn't have posted a snippet that gave away the full song The first teaser is all she should have done It's a good song though, I wouldn't say its whelming or mid etc

Today's events have thoroughly pissed me off and it's barely 8am.... NO release date. NO artwork. NO tracklist. NO title. ON A PICTURE DISC? IN A PVC SLEEVE?? Might as well make it 20LP boxset with each song split in half between Side A and Side B if you're trying to make the worst vinyl listening experience of all time. Also, rumored August release date??? We need to storm Atlantic Records HQ. I am so over their bullshit.

Negatively dismissing HIFN as a “minor” or “side” project is so boring. Yawn.

Talking about this right now in a different venue with select Top Minds™ - Angels seem to have gotten REALLY entitled lately, even in the context of stan culture as a whole. Like first, there's become an expectation that if it's not on an official album or EP, either Charli's or some collab with someone else, it's "Oh, well that's okay. Someone'll leak it anyway." Like take a beat right there and think about that. This is material that someone has decided that they don't want to release, finished or unfinished. And someone sees that and goes "I plan for and expect it to be made available to me anyway." Part of that does come with the fact that for the history of Charli's career, it's been an endless stream of leaked music. But that should be viewed as, in the best light, a "bonus" for deeper fans who know where to look and how to get it. When really, the very act of leaking, and listening to leaks, if the artist hasn't leaked the content themselves, is basically "someone has mad amount of disrespect for an artist, taking things from them that weren't intended for the public, and putting them out there anyways. I expect this to happen, and expect to enjoy this music and content anyway." Then there's the history of demanding her to play shit or release shit that just plain isn't happening. Screaming "Play Taxi!" at concerts, demanding shit be released in comments on Twitter or IG. Thirsting for new music one second and then when it's announced it's coming, turning around and being mad we don't have a full album, visuals, tracklist, 3 singles, and deluxe announcement within the next 48 hours. Like come on. We're all aware of how the music industry works, we all know how we're in the age of Spotify and Tiktok algorithms - business is played by the rules as they're found, but everyone wants to act brand new all the time about it and pin it on the artist when it's much more hands in the cookie jar here. The other thing about stan culture as a whole, is this weird ass shit where a song could be an 8/10, but the fans act like those last two missing points are the largest fucking flop in the history of Floptopia, in the country of Floppistan, on the continent of Floppington, on planet Floppottica. They expect 11/10, every single time, which is just not going to happen. They also expect a song to be able to chart in 10 different genres' charts, and go number 1 every time. Oh and they expect a 16 track deluxe. Oh and they expect to purchase and own exclusive merchandise, but also that merchandise can't be allowed to sell out before *they* get it, but it also can't be widely available either because then it, and them, are not special for having it. Oh and they expect huge headlining tours. Oh but those tours better not be expensive, or sell out. Oh and they expect cheap meet and greets, and an artist be able to spend 10 minutes personally talking to each and every fan at said meet and greet, but it also not last longer than an hour, at said 80,000 packed out headlining concert tour. It's a little exhausting. Edit: And also people getting so dismissive when an opinion isn't shared by them. Everyone enjoys things and approaches things from different angles and perspectives, and with different valuations. Music speaks to different parts of people's lives and experiences......except for when the opinion isn't shared. Then it's trash and couldn't possibly have any merit and OP should check into a mental institution for brain rot. And if one person fucking bitches about this post being long, this is your reminder to clock in for your shift at Panera because I know you ain't making salary with such a weak brain.

Hot In It and Out Out are complete bangers, so this just made me excited to hear the full song thank you EDIT: You actually said "Hot Girl" (not Hot In It) but that song is actually a bigger banger than the two I mentioned so my statement stands

I’m just hoping that Charli/her team sees this as actual feedback and not an attack like in the past obviously we’re all upset with this rollout, but for every tweet/post that is like “stop complaining you’re just too online!! This rollout isn’t meant for you it’s meant for the GP to gain interest” just tries to silence the actual points we’re trying to make and hopefully Charli can see past those rebuttals Our opinions are valid and should be respected as such. This isn’t like the Sam Smith situation where the hate for them in general was louder than the actual dislike for the song itself.

I don't mind if she does an upbeat country song with ruthless lyrics like in this one although, I kinda agree with the music critics how they said that the "country music" there is kinda pseudo but it's just one of my favorite tracks ever, I just love the vibes!

But also why is the possibility of the album being called 360_brat SO terrible? I don’t understand 💀

It really is funny the same ppl saying “WE DONT CARE ABOUT VON DUTCH ANYMORE” like… last week? are the ones having meltdowns now…. I thought yall didnt care? I love this thread

Wow it’s basically just the looped snippet with an extended second chorus

Why do I feel the 360_brat vinyl isn’t the album? When it’s a vroom vroom repress with bonus tracks round n round and tko, then what?

the song is actually terrific but it would hit way harder if this was my first time hearing it, regardless i will be one of the 3,209 streams. depending on the music video and album date all could be forgiven. june is late but realistic, if it’s actually in august like some are saying then she needs a literal intervention

They have regular carboard gatefold jackets that have the center cut out (die cut) so you can see the picture disc.

I like really do not think the album title is 360_brat (thank god) i think she's just saying its exclusive to the 360_brat mailing list and a lot of you have poor reading comprehension

I think it’s more about embracing the irony of being such a big talent in the industry yet still being reduced to a niche artist. It’s like one big “hey isn’t that so funny what they say about me? What if I said it about myself?” Thing. I absolutely love it. I don’t think she’s pretending to be “fame” obsessed or anything. She’s clearly playing the game, the way the fans have set it up. Just in a way that she’s still able to retain the narrative.

about the rollout: charli posted her comeback insta post on january 29th and we got the song literally one month after. in between then she held a small listening party, teased and performed her boiler room set, had two magazines covers and an extensive interview for the face cover shoot, teased a music video that looks pretty high budget and will be out along with the single, and just announced a special edition album preorder. that’s a lot of content and idk sometimes i feel like the angels are a little impatient/ ungrateful with charli but whatever the constant teasing with the same snippet was a bit annoying especially for a song as repetitive as von dutch and i think the community texts could have been used more effectively. but overall i think the start of this era is getting a lot of unwarranted hate/ straight up bitchiness hahahahaha. about von dutch: i think it’s insane to have a lead single with no real verses and i don’t think that von dutch is the type of song that benefits from a ton of pre-teasing. that said, something about the song weirdly works. the unwavering, harsh beat actually keeps the moment up pretty well and i think the distortion in the second half sounds so fucking good. idk it’s weird, it definitely sounds like something is missing and idk how well the gp is gonna respond to something so repetitive but why is it kinda hitting. it kinda sounds like the dirty, club, ketamine version of roll with me. i like the sound and general direction but i’d be lying if i said i wasn’t expecting a bit more. still super excited for the album, and i can see myself spamming von dutch because of how nonstop it feels but i think it was a weird choice for a lead.

i often feel like a lot of her unreleased songs are just other ‘versions’ or ‘reboots’ of the songs that did make the cut…like she’ll make a couple songs out of the same idea and pick the one she likes best Sad Girl/Your Girl, Ultraviolence/Cult Leader, Off to the Races/Heavy Hitter, Blue Jeans/TV in Black and White, Religion/Crazy for You, etc…. obviously they’re not direct correlations BUT (in my head) a lot of her unreleased songs have a sister song that DID make the album. I can see why certain songs got cut because they’re basically the same as others. She wanted to write a song about _______ so she came up with a couple and picked/refined her favorite one.

Tbh I'm more excited about the album announcement / tracklist reveal than I am about Von Dutch itself. Don't get me wrong I will be streaming- I think it's a really fun song, but with so much of it being teased for so long I know exactly what we're getting here. (I really hope her "lying era" includes telling us Spring Breakers isn't on the album, it'd be a damn shame if her best song in years is relegated to a B-side of a lead single) I've seen a few theories that the album will be nonstop / kinda mixed like a DJ set and I think that's a really cool idea. A lot of the stuff she's previewed has been around the same BPM and littered with vocal samples that are either shared with or reference other tracks. Maybe it's just a live thing and I'm reading too much into it but like the "girl", "right now", etc. could be a clue.
