THEORY INCOMING (bear with me) - Okay so I went back and read the Music Week issue and I remember either Ben or Ed said “she has two albums in mind, I think” and proceeded to talk about “the plan” that they’ve been trying to do for years, which they finally think they can pull off. Now, I don’t want to sound delusional but I don’t necessarily know anymore if the “two albums in mind” were the album that would follow Chemtrails and the cover album. The reason I think this is because: 1. There are 2 cover albums confirmed to be in existence - one of American standards and classic folk songs, and another of pure country songs. Yes, she may have merged the two, but at the time of this interview, they were distinguished as two separate cover albums. So it can’t be LDR 8 PLUS only one cover album. 2. She never archived the post on IG about Rock Candy Sweet. Surely, she has archived posts before, namely snippets and the initial April 2020 announcements for Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass. So if the album truly was retitled, then wouldn’t she just delete the RCS post in place of BB? So, my theory is... There are TWO albums. - Rock Candy Sweet, which will be the album that challenges her place in the music industry, the crazy year she’s had in the public eye, and accusations of glamourizing domestic abuse and cultural appropriation. - Blue Banisters, which will be the album that takes stock of her life in between being a famous person and discusses personal developments, tells her own story, etc. 3. On November 17, she said she was working on two albums in a tweet. Chemtrails was already done at that point, so it could’ve been RCS and BB or BB/RCS (if they are the same album) and the cover album, but we’ll see. Now, I know I said all this but I’m not entirely sold on it but I just thought I’d throw it out there to anyone who wants to add in their two cents. I’m leaning way more towards Blue Banisters being a retitled-Rock Candy Sweet.

Wait a minute... If she announced BB (the actual album title) then that means the vinyls must already be processed and finished right? And it takes about 3 months for them to be made? Lana announced RCS title only a MONTH ago so how could she have changed the vinyl processing that quickly just for a title change? Am I making sense? THE MATH AIN'T MATHING. WE'RE GETTING 2 ALBOOMS!

Let's all appreciate these moments though because this is the most exciting time of any pre-release era and it's so amazing that it's happening again so soon! I love this part of logging into Lanaboards every day trying to find clues and hunting down websites and source codes for information. It sizzles down once the album cover/tracklist/pre order drops. I love love love the build up before it all happens, it's so much fun having something to look forward to. Normally we'd have to wait 2 years for this again, so yeah i'm just so glad we're in this speculation zone once more. And the summer is coming. And COVID is easing. Life is beautiful teas

i really can’t see this album being a tired continuation of chemtrails 1. she wants revenge 2. she’s releasing in the summer. if we look at her summer releases (uv and lfl) they are exciting albums and 100% feel like summertime. 3. jack has been MIA and shown no support for (any) of lanas recent announcements so far im not sold on blue bannisters as an album name or a summer title track. this is where my logic gets run over by lana herself in her truck. so for personal reasons, i am pretending the album name is still rock candy sweet.

will we finally see nikki lane behind bars for the atrocities committed by her? will jack and courtney end up together ? how many days before she renames the album Blue Banjos With My Rednecks and pushes it back to 2023? this and more on the next episode of Lana Del Rey: she’s not unhinged, she’s just wild.

I think this album will have a more ambient and instrumentally-rich sound compared to the last two records. NFR and COTCC were meant to be these very organic, stripped-back and casual-sounding albums and I love them! But I remember Lana said in interviews this year that she “really wanted more from Jack and [herself] in the last 7 months” (which would have been June 2020-January 2021 at the time) and encouraged Jack to “go wilder with the production”. Obviously, I wouldn’t characterize the production on COTCC as “wild” - it’s quite light, delicate, whimsical, airy, beautiful, etc. - so I really think this album will still be in that vein of using real instruments, but probably with a fuller band sound. The BB snippet also sounds very full and multi-layered without sounding artificial or over-produced (which she never sounds anyways). Lana even said her and Jack didn’t end up fully-producing anything on NFR and COTCC was described by Jack as an even further breakdown sonically, so I am expecting a slightly different approach this time around. Excited! She always delivers so this is going to be so good.

diorleak doesn’t know anything. they are the walmart version of eclipse and probably only has access to youtube thumbnails a day or so before they get uploaded, i would hardly consider that an insider. yesterday it was still blabla folk album blabla chemtrails part 2 and now all of a sudden asap’s on the record ? yeah i’m not buying that... maybe i’ll believe diorleak one day but till now i haven’t seen them say anything accurate and reliable months in advance for any release so i highly doubt their vague predictions come true. i mean anyone with a brain could say lana just made the ugly cover to get free promo and it won’t be the album cover and you’d have a 95% chance of it turning out to be true.... sorry for ranting i’m just so tired of dumbass gays making up lies and everyone blindly eating it up every. single. era.

I'm don't know too much about the workings of last.fm, but I took a look at his LDR scrobbles and saw that he also scrobbled a track titled 'French Restaurant' about a month ago. I'm not sure if this is just another unreleased song or perhaps something new, but we've never heard that title before to my recollection. He shared the following lyrics in the Shoutbox: I actually know of this French restaurant in NYC that she used to frequent, and I went there a few times too when I lived in Brooklyn. It's called Marseille, if there's any New Yorkers on the boards who need some good restaurant recs lol x

i really love cherry blossom and it's such a comforting, sweet song, but i really don't want it reworked & released, i just don't like the idea of releasing old leaked songs in general, it'd be so strange to have my three versions of cherry blossom in the "blue banisters demos" album but... if that's what lana wants to do, i respect her decision

While I think it’s unlikely Rock Candy Sweet and Blue Banisters are different albums, it’d honestly be so fitting for them to have the two different edits of the same selfie as their album covers if they were different albums. Idk I think that’d be perfect. Like showing two different sides of herself.

If the album does come in July, then I’m guessing: - Blue Banisters will be released as a single sometime this month - The pre-order/cover/tracklist could either come with the single this month, or sometime in June

i really feel that the preorder is coming on Monday. it would make sense since Chemtrails preorder dropped 2 months before the release

It’s hard for me to imagine that there is a collab with A$AP in the album after the snippet she gave us but maybe it’s just me being pessimistic

I'd be so down for another A$AP collab on this album - Summer Bummer and Groupie Love are such good tracks, and Ridin is one of my favorite unreleased songs. I'm not fully going to believe the insider, but it would be really nice if it turned out to be true (Also, if we get any collabs on this album, I really only want the alleged A$AP one and whatever she did with Jesse Rutherford)

I’m hoping she doesn’t tease snippet on snippet. I’ll listen to full tracks when they come out (either by her or leaking) but I’m not listening to any snippets now that I heard BB. COTCC felt so so so fresh on arrival and I contribute that to having no idea how the album sounded and I intend to do it again
