I see this “what about x” question brought up so much and it has been answered so many times as well Doja actually was contractually obliged to work with him and even alluded to dr luke stealing credits, and Nicki’s literally married to a rapist and bailed her rapist pedophile brother out and has collabed with other rapists/pedos before too that’s like the main reason people dislike her so bringing her up doesn’t really make sense.

No matter what her reasons are for working with Dr.Luke, whether abuse happened or not, all I'm gonna say is that the song doesnt sound good at all so far. The whole concept screams BS: we're living in a woman's world? Gurl, take a good look around for only two seconds and you'll see that this is sadly a man's world, where women clearly are still not viewed as «equals» . And the visuals for the Mv we've seen so far A girl wearing next to nothing singing a «feminist» anthem, girl this is exactly what feminists wanted to change, to feel the need to be a sexual object. I'd be happy to change my mind with this era, but so far, it's a mess

This argument would make sense if they were saying anyone who listens to the new song’s a horrible person or w/e, but saying you can’t call out (or even discuss) an artist working with an alleged rapist because you eat meat and own an iPhone is just a very dumb & surface level take . I still listen to a lot of music Dr Luke produced cause I recognise that being 100% morally correct with the media u consume (or literally anything you consume) is near impossible because at the end of the day your money’s probs going into a horrible person’s pockets, but that does not mean you can’t still call out bad behaviour lmao.

The fact that we would know NOTHING about the Ocean Blvd announcement if that interviewer didnt ask her.

i hate this argument, we aren't hypocritical just because we choose not to listen to a song made by somebody who's done awful things while still using iphones or eating meat, it's completely unrealistic to expect people to be able to completely eliminate supporting unethical people/businesses out of our lives, even if we do our absolute hardest to not support bad people and bad corporations, we practically need smartphones to participate in society, and not everyone can go vegetarian/vegan for a variety of reasons, i know you aren't bothered by people doing these things, you just find it hypocritical that people will condemn one thing but not everything... but most people would agree that sometimes you can separate art from the artist, or, at least, it doesn't make you a bad person to listen to a song produced by dr. luke, but people should have the choice to not want to engage with his work without being told they're hypocrites or that they have selective outrage because they still eat meat

Lasso is never coming I fear. Lana changes her mind all the time.

I genuinely think after the 0-hype era she had previously (#JusticeForNeverReallyOver) she purposely wanted controversy to create some noise. And it’s a HORRIBLE look /tactic - working with an alleged abuser does not fall under “no such thing as bad publicity.” If she wanted controversy she should’ve reignited a feud with Lady Gaga or something.

Madonna doesn't need to do shit anymore, she's paid her dues and has solidified her status long ago. She's old, she's free to do whatever she wants this far into her life and career whether people think it's relevant or not.

I don't think katy is COPYING kesha, but its definitely not coincidental that Luke's (almost 5 year old song btw) WOMANS WORLD was slated to be released subsequently with Kesha's JOYRIDE, a true song about being liberated and living in a woman's world. the constant mentions of KPSEX, the inflatable katy doll trope, its all TOO coincidental. Someone is trying to be flashy in someone else's face. I think that's where the disdain comes from. I love katy, but shes already made the decision to start this era off on a shit show. People just need to move on from that man, especially if all he is going to do is use the rest of the women he collaborates with as vessels for his arrogance. Maybe katy is actually naive and isn't aware of all the subtext..... but thats not a good thing really either? idk

this is really not a “music lovers” (???) vs. “Kesha stans” issue. Your entire post seems a bit flippant to the issue of (alleged) sexual abuse This discussion will continue to happen for as long as major pop stars (and Kim Petras) continue to work with him, and it should. Nothing ad nauseam about it.

Seems Tough has shown a significant upward trend and strong daily streaming numbers. Definitely will perform higher than Say Yes to Heaven. Edit: t's still number 1 Lana track on my local iTunes That hasn't happened with one of her songs in many years. Summertime or Y&B are always the top, maaybe West Coast. This is huge. To give you an idea: none of the songs from her last three albums ever even cracked the top 10 on iTunes
