ok but doesnt it all come together? like...lana said she wants to go wilder. now, mike dean is a friend with people who worked on born to die. mike said that strings and classic lana are coming right back. lana said she wants a revenge, and as we know, btd was used to be called "The revenge of Lana Del Rey". ok now im fucking hyped

i have a theory. see this: and this and this so, as someone said already, maybe this is a UV type of situation. Maybe around this time, ROCK CANDY SWEET was finished and produced by Jack and Zach (?) and it was coming out June 1st. But, in the meantime, she decided that the production was not what she was looking forward to. She contacted Mike and he is reworking it and the album is now called BLUE BANISTERS. That's why she changed the release date, probably because she knew it would delay. She thought it was gonna delay just a month (the same way UV took 2 weeks to be reworked) but it is taking a little more she thought it was gonna take. Maybe it will delay, but something is about to come.

The most realistic thing that happened, in my opinion - 1. Lana had a collection of songs that she wrote throughout 2020 with Jack Antonoff and Zach Dawes. 2. The songs were produced by Zach Dawes (as he and Lana were shown to have had in-person studio sessions together throughout 2020) with the bulk of the production being done in late 2020. 3. The album was “finished” but maybe something didn’t feel right or wasn’t quite what Lana was going for. 4. She took the songs to Mike Dean sometime within the last two months (as she stated she wasn’t quite sure what was coming next to Annie Mac in January 2021, but then suddenly, in March 2021, has a whole album ready for release this year) 5. Her and Mike aren’t quite done working on the production of the album, but must know what the sound of the record will be, as something album-related is slated to happen next week. 6. Mike said he and Lana are planning to work with each other for a long time, so some new songs that they have been writing together since ~February/March may make an appearance on BB (hence, Mike not wanting to talk about the album/his fear of “jinxing” it, and the inevitable delay) or be saved for a later album.

I made this on PicCollage while my boyfriend was getting a root canal (which is why the quality is...questionable lol), but here’s the initial vibe I got when Lana announced RCS lol edit: also, I don’t want a record this short, but I was struggling with the few available fonts on the app & gave up lmao

Here's a transcription I did of the Lana bit from the interview, as I haven't seen anyone else try to type it out yet: Mike: Lana Del Rey, we’re working on her stuff. Fantano: Yeah, how’s – I’ve gotten a lot of questions about that specifically. Would you be able to give an idea as to how some of that is turning out? Mike: It was just cool. I can’t give any details because it’s not done yet. We don’t know what it’s, you know, I don’t want to jinx it talking about it too much. Fantano: I know she has that next record that’s dropping very soon this year. The work that you’re doing with her, is it specifically for that record or is it for an even further down the road project? Mike: It’s for that record. Fantano: Okay. Mike: We’re pulling stuff for future projects. I’m planning on working with her a lot. Fantano: How exactly did that connection happen, and when it did, how familiar were you with Lana’s back catalogue? Mike: Oh, very. A lot of my friends produce a lot of her stuff. Emile Haynie, Jeff Bhasker, and you know, all those guys. Fantano: I guess when approaching it, I mean not to spoil too much I guess, when approaching a project like hers is it sort of your goal to continue to deliver those aesthetics that fans are sort of familiar with whether it be the piano, the strings, sort of like that almost like orchestral elegance, or are you bringing like synths to the table and everything and kind of changing it up a little bit instrumentally? Mike: I would mesh them both I think. You got to stay true to the original, but you can definitely do your twist on it, you know?

I think he is alluding to BTD, especially after mentioning Jeff Bhasker and Emile Haynie. In general that album is what she is known for

Imagine Mike’s surprise when he woke up and she announced the album for July 4th knowing they were still working on it

Why does Lana do this? Why does she give out unrealistic dates? I'm genuinely curious what her thought process when she types out her captions. Surely she must already know how long the vinyl processing is. This puta getting on my damn nerves

„Things Lana is known for“ The way this could be a production like BTD, UV, HM, LFL or NFR/COCC. We still have no clue

Mike mentioned Jeff Bhasker being his link of familiarity to Lana. Jeff worked on Diet Mountain Dew, National Anthem, Carmen, and Wait for Life (so he’s probably a frequent collaborator with Emile Haynie). That, paired with him staying true to her “classical” sound, makes me think this will be as bombastic as BTD. Based on BoZ’s comments, the title track could be the Video Games of the album.... This album coming out by/before January 2022 would be PERFECT as the BTD era started around this time 10 years ago. I really think we’ll see an updated version of Lana’s take on a classical cinematic sound accompanied by heavy, old-skool hip-hop beats.

no, she said she wanted jack to go wilder and he said he kept stripping it back to make the music honest

If it’s anything like BTD with a hint of UV, we are about to faint, cutie pies. I love how we learn about her album from everyone but her.

I’m SO ready for this! I’m picturing an Ultraviolence style shift, but instead of her classic sound mixed with rock, her classic sound mixed deep synths

Boz said that BB sounds like Yosemite so what is the truth Wait. Boz said at first that it sounds like Yosemite. Then few days later that he cant believe shes doing this and that the album is gonna be delayed. Whats if she decided to rework the whole album from Jacks flops to hiphop btd sound

I don’t know, guys...she seems to be pulling out the big guns this era. I doubt she would want this album to be a low-key release if she got Mike Dean — somebody known for super dynamic, high-energy production — to produce it. I have a feeling that the album cycle is really going to begin in a week, as teased, but there’s also going to be a decent amount of build-up and push for this album. Norman was actually heavily publicized upon release (even by Lana’s usual standards) so I can imagine that this album will try and be the same, if not more. Even Chemtrails — her most low-key release yet — made so much in sales with all of those vinyl variants and general interest from her very secure fanbase. I can’t imagine Blue Banisters to be a step backwards from that.

I thought this but also like if he only did a few songs I don’t think it’s completely unrealistic for him to not know when it will be out that’s sort of behind the scenes label stuff that I doubt a co-producer would really be heavily involved in?

Paradise is even more produced than BTD and it sounds exactly like she wanted. I hope that Mike Dean pushes her out of her comfort zone

Prediction: Blue Banisters will be the best album of all time and finally get Lana her long deserved AOTY a decade after her big debut

I mean, it might be possible the album is done and her silence is just so she doesn’t give another fake date before announcing the real, real date? I’m just gonna wait to see what happens next week, since that’s when the era is ‘starting’

I think the whole 'using strings' thing seems vague actually. It could mean anything. I'm pretty sure some strings were used in COCC and it barely scraped the surface of what BTD sounded like. I hate to be a debbie downer but
