I don't blame her after the shitshows that happened since may 2020...lots of people's true colors exposed and self proclaimed Stans directly attacking her. it must have been heartbreaking for her and made it harder to trust anyone. but even since then she's still had some pretty wholesome interactions with her fans.

The way AKA, BTD, UV, HM, LFL, NFR, COCC and BB are all so different because they are DIFFERENT eras (and different moments in Lana's life) but also they share SOME similarities because is the SAME person behind them

Yesterday, Lana Del Rey stopped by an Icing store inside Woodland Hills Mall in Tulsa, Oklahoma. While she was there, she snapped a photo with an employee who was a fan.

friendly reminder... video games is a piano ballad, video games made her FAMOUS and it's still regarded as one of the best songs she's released, other fantastic songs like old money, cherry blossom, yayo, etc. are piano ballads, she's always worked with a piano ballad sound, if you don't like her anymore or if you just simply think she's just a boring middle-aged lady because she's not making the same style of music she was making over a decade ago just say that

Sorry if you feel attacked. But to me your posts weren‘t expressing constructive criticism. Saying things like she is destroying her own career, she should stop singing about Nikki and stop releasing piano ballads… that bashing is just pointless. And tiring. We had multiple discussions here with people who dont like her recent music, and that‘s ok and discussions are the whole point of a fan forum, but your posts… well

She has to make a jazz album, she HAS to! I don’t expect BB to be jazzy, but it’s definitely something she could be leaning on in the future. And it would be an amazing surprised if BB turned out to have jazzy tracks! Imagine all the jazzy breakup songs she could write now that her and Chase are over… Jazz would compliment this album so well, especially with tracks such as Text Book or the title track

If you think about it, 'White Dress' is, probably, her most experimental song ever (among officially released ones). And it's very risky to start a whole album like that because these vocals are a big turn-off for many people (let's not forget how teens dragged WD on TikTok). She still has that fire, she's exploring new things and not afraid to do so, and I'm very positive about an upcoming album. Sorry, but "My body is a map of LA" is already ICONIC.

The three singles are all excellent so I'm willing to trust her on this era, even if it resembles NFR/Chemtrails but I want some sort of hint at progression. I don't mind NFR/COCC incorporation but if it doesn't show any sort of evolution towards the end of the album, I'll be a little annoyed, even if the songs are amazing. But as I said, the three songs have me pretty hopeful (especially the ending of WW). Either way, I don't really understand the discourse, especially those arguing for her to remain in the NFR/COCC vein. Like, nobody's gonna hate her if she decides to not change it up much (well, we might pretend to for dramatic effect) but surely those of you who are defending the idea must want something different? Like, it's okay to not be okay with the direction of Lana's music.

Actually Norman, Chemtrails and BB sound totally different even though they all have a piano.

Lana literally evolved the most between BTD and PAradise and Ultraviolence and even Honeymoon, all those albums sound wildly different from one another, I’m not saying I want her to make another record with “that same old sound” I want her to reignite the fire she used have under her ass that got her to create entirely new soundscapes every era for those first few years Using less and less instrumentation with a less larger sound and basing everything around a piano is not “evolving”, it’s being stagnant

i can't believe we're having a conversation abt piano making literally any song a piano ballad

I seriously don't get the NFR/Chemtrails/BB comparison. Yes, all 3 have piano but so did every other Lana album. Visuals are also way different. NFR was all about beaches and the sea (album photoshoot, the MAC visuals we got in September, the double MV, Doin' Time to some degree too). Chemtrails was a mixture of country club owning rich woman, the midwest and whatever that weird (but great) blue/green Neil pics were. We don't have much from BB other than the album cover so we'll see. All I see from NFR to BB is the natural evolution Lana's music had since the last folky tracks from LFL but still every album has a different vibe to it. Yes, the genre hopping she did from BTD to UV to HM was great and very interesting but it's also nice to see a more slow progression in her sound. Also c'mon NFR came in 2019 and we'll have 2 2021 albums. It's not like she's been doing the same sound (that's not even the same) for 10 years straight.

Not that long ago she wrote, produced and then unfortunately cut ‘Serene Queen,’ which certainly had a groovy, high tech/techo, studio-manipulated sound. She might return to a broadly similar sound at any time, at least for a few cuts. I admit that, though I loved almost all of COCC, after most of NFR! and the three recent singles, I’m personally pretty tired of the slower, piano-ballady tracks.

Tell me you never listened to her discography without telling me you never listened to her discography. BTD: Video Games Paradise: Yayo UV: Old Money LFL: BPBP, Change and these are the more „pure piano“ ballads excluding demos and unreleased stuff. Honeymoon had some ballads too, but the instrumental arrangements are impeccable so people like to ignore that album in this matter. LFL as summery as it is has a lot of ballads. Also I wouldn’t exactly call her vocals anywhere high pitched lmao?? Except for NAWWAL she doesn’t use her high register as much. Less so on the three singles

I don't hear any similarities between the three released songs and COCC, even though they're both using the piano. Completely different moods for me.

And NFR! is her most successful album since Ultraviolence. The point is pretty much here. The problem with COCC is that it wasn't promoted at all and her team relied only on physical sales.

Hi all, Just popping in to say I've officially knocked this thread back to a Pre-Pre-Release Thread, which means when we have more concrete information such as a certain release date, I will lock this thread and create a new Pre-Release Thread. This is what we typically do for releases as you all may recall, but because she announced this album so quickly with seemingly a title and date, we went straight to Pre-Release. Since it appears there's still going to be some time until more concrete information comes out, this will now serve as the Pre-Pre-Release Thread for the upcoming album's discussion. Thanks guys! Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday. Neptune's in retrograde, so look out x

That is the general sonic direction everyone seems to be taking now. Post covid era. Billie. Lorde. St Vincent. Lana. Taylor. I wont be surprised if Katy comes up with something similar too. Also let's not forget. Lana was leaning into folk in some parts of LFL which she explored further in NFR . And leaned into a country-folk-indie production on COCC. I don't understand how u can say TG,CG,TFJ,DT,FIILY,California are mellow . She is changing her style of writing and singing to make it more autobiographical than ever
