1- ok so it’s not just me that doesn’t love Beyoncé’s new song, if she isn’t top 10 2- imagine if our girl released a summer song… her numbers would be insane.

their shoot is from the 4th til the 14th (do shoots usually that take long? maybe that's just the time she'll be in NY and the shoot will be during that time), so we probably won't see the shots til late July if we even do. hopefully we get some behind the scenes pics or anything. we need Sheridan Ward again lol

She has to... she's the queen of summer. Summertime Sadness (obviously) and Doin Time are her most popular songs. Even HBTB is slowly picking up on streaming again... People love summery Lana and her label should capitalize on that (even though she doesn't care). Maybe they could use the HM strategy with a more upbeat and "commercial" lead single to catch some attention even if the record is more lowkey

She needs to stop caring about critics. If COCC and BB were her first 2 albums instead of BTD and Ultraviolence, I’m pretty sure that she would not have the fan base that she has right now. I wouldn’t worry about that. Most of the people that try to cancel her aren’t really fans in the first place, so it doesn’t end up having that much of an impact. They’ll forget about it in a couple of days and move on to trying to cancel someone else.

I don't think artists and labels end to conceptualize 'summer albums' anymore, unless they're artists who spend the summer playing at festivals across the country, particularly in the South, and make the bulk of their income that way. Perhaps Lana is afraid that an overtly 'summer album,' which I would also love to see, would reignite the claims from critics that she is a 'superficial pretty girl' and not much more. I believe she still has a lot of unfriendly critics out there who would never think of dumping that sort of criticism at almost any other female artist currently making waves. Perhaps that's why the COCC and BB releases were on the down low side, and perhaps she'll continue that trend, knowing she can still be commercially and critically successful enough without doing more.

This will be the post probably. Why do people think she will be suddenly eloquent of the album? I know she is apparently working on something until the 14th, but it doesn’t mean she’ll talk about it. When she did so, on the Chemtrails MV set, it’s because Sept 5 was really close and she kinda had to update us since she gave that false date. Same last year when she posted the snippet to Arcadia, on July 3 or 4 (another false date of hers).

Hope she shot her custom homemade videos in Portofino or New York. I'm tired of the same old LA scene. 😴

That's probably it cause 10 days is too much (unless they are shooting multiple MV and even some magazine covers with some days to rest in between) I want to think it was finished back in May right before she went to NY and Italy and now she's shooting some MVs or promo pictures while they wait for the vinyl process Neil had a secret photoshoot back then (I'm sure it was for Lana) so maybe she already has something for the lead single and the NY thing is for further promo of the album per se @/annacofone on IG

On another note, I keep thinking about how well Fingers Crossed was produced. The opening instrumentals are especially nice, and Melanie's vocals on that track are some of the best she's ever recorded. It fit her range perfectly and she really carried the instrumental on that one, IMO. I hope we at least get some version of it on the new album.

I very much thought that. I don’t think lana has ever been a “patriot” to the tee, but I do think she loved the idea of what america could have been, which a lot of us were convinced of growing up. And I think people paint her a certain way because they don’t read between the lines of what she’s trying to say.
