I’m not really surprised the single isn’t out yet, still 133 days left for the album, so if we do the math for the other albums, the days between the 1st single & the album release for each album : 1- NFR! : 352 days 2- BB : 155 days 3- Chemtrails : 155 days 4- LFL : 154 days 5- BTD : 108 days 6- ocean blvd : 108 days 7- UV : 60 days 8- Paradise : 50 days 9- Honeymoon : 40 days so TRPWS is currently between LFL & BTD, let’s just hope it won’t be less than honeymoon

usually I’m on the “leave her alone and give her time to work on the album” side of things but promising 2 songs, never delivering them, going absent on social media, and 0 engagement with fans is slightly irritating

This is already ringing true lol. Anyways, I think it's cool that she's making the type of music she wants to make instead of leaning into what people expect of her, but I do think a lot of her fans will fully force themselves to like this EP and even pretend like this is miles ahead of Preacher's Daughter because it's less accessible and enjoying it gives them some type of sense of superiority (which is normal if you're a teenager, but if you're a grown adult and still care about all that then... grow up no shade). That's not saying there won't be many fans who will genuinely love this EP though. I'm currently 5 tracks in, I really enjoy Punish and Vacillator. I don't see myself listening to this EP in full again though.

guys the album is out in 4 months and a half it’s not out of character for her to stay silent right now… it’s definitely coming, we should enjoy the fact that it’s most likely set in stone now, chances are we’re finally in the clear she clearly announced it early to build hype for the festival but couldn’t put it out before may, that’s it

We never get the album on the initial date when she announces it so early in advance. It's true that this seems like the most proper announcement for an album that far away (compared to WHF/Chemtrails or RCS) but I doubt it's coming that particular day cause it's not even a Friday I can see her releasing an early single soon even if the album is coming in June or whatever but I think the formal announcement with the preorder is still a bit far away.

I like your optimism, but it's also not out of character for her to announce wrong release dates or albums that don't exist

Ideally we should get something in the first half of January because it’s the most depressing time of the year. The cold. Taking down Christmas decorations. Going back to work. We need something to bring us up from the post holiday-cheer-down. 😭

not to be a karen or anything but even if an album cover is as simple as that, it’s valid that it takes a longer amount of time to design because it has to go back to charli and to the label, and people have to approve of it. also, picking the right shade of green in this case obviously meant a lot to charli and she had a clear vision what she wanted to convey with it (iirc, she wanted it to be the most unappealing cover) and we shouldn’t judge albums by their covers lana ain’t better, her album rollouts take so long because she goes back and forth with picsart covers and production, to the point where ben has to make her shoot another album cover (nfr). i guess the unappealing green really worked on some people but personally i think it’s a really cool cover because its simple at first but complex and conveys something deeper when u look into the article u posted

But anyway, i truly hope this project creates a dramatic shift in the perception of drone music and ambient. Typing my review for Perverts as we speak. Y'all need to lock urselfs in a dark room and listen to this shit with eyes closed. Imagine the experience of the music. Please.

On one hand I support and will eagerly listen to whatever she does and on the other hand the number of obsessive fans who are excited for her to “lose fans” because of the musics inaccessibility is really strange and off putting.

we do not need another joni mitchell moment… but we do need a lana del rey moment… big visuals, big production, big hair, lots of interviews and photoshoots

pretentious fans are annoying but like i mentioned a few weeks ago i think it's even more annoying to say this isn't music or that people are pretending to enjoy it. she's been doing this for a hot minute so if we didn't like it we wouldn't listen in the first place lol there's nothing wrong with AT/Crush, those are classics in my books but she has said many times that she doesn't enjoy that poppier lane and it's not what she's going for so of course the ep will divide fans (already happening lmfao) but hopefully it opens people up to new types of music! that's what it's all about and i hope all of us can take something from the project <3 i'm on hous and loving it already

"hell yes this is going to alienate all the Ethel fans who love her pop music" why do her fans want her to alienate more casual listeners? you can say they're annoying but is being adored really so bad? it seems beyond pretentious for her religious fans to want to alienate a good chunk of her fanbase.
