13 likesshe's been wanting to leave california for a while now if u go by what her music alludes. nfr opened up a kind of vulnerability to start if u listened in between the lines. lmlylaw's written plain as day. to getting married and living by lousiana(?), fishtails from ob. thematically, at least from her music perspective. this can still pretty much coincide w a potential heavier feeling of a southern gothic, but at the same time, be a completely separate stance. precautions and considerations to be thought of and acted upon, we might see an added thought/song like how Coachella was added during the LFL era. though, and communities aside, I also wouldn't be surprised if she didn't mention this at all.

12 likesIs this real? Found on Discogs, which was uploaded 7 days ago. Says, it was released in 2008, also noted as Master Reference #1. @Dark Angel have you seen this before (asking you because you know a lot about LG stuff)? Maybe it's something it has been talked about here before but I have forgotten or missed it. The link: https://www.discogs.com/release/32734698-Lizzy-Grant-Lizzy-Grant The person who uploaded this is someone who has obtained 25,000 CDs (of different artists) from a Sony distributor and plans to add all of them to the database.

9 likesBeen in touch with family over there and lucky they’re all fine, I happened to be in LA during the 2019 wildfires and it was very surreal to see the sky change colour and watch flames just engulfing homes as coming from the UK it’s just unimaginable. From what I’ve seen these fires seem so much worse

Seeing these bible-thumping, siblings for parents, mentally-stunted creatures on TikTok claiming what’s happening to California is karma and “God’s wrath” makes me want to go into these people’s trailer parks and shake the religious psychosis out of them. Did these freaks forget about literal flooding that JUST happened in North Carolina and Appalachia? Weather does not discriminate. -
9 likesthe irony of hollywood burning while america is going into its darkest time has to mean something. it's crazy to think about really. i hope everyone got out okay, even if their homes burned down or they lost things. you can rebuild and rebuy, you can't do that with your life or your pets

9 likeshttps://www.instagram.com/kcalnews/reel/DEly_YLJEa6/ the bunny museum in Altadena burned down. It was run by a couple who gifted each other bunny themed items every day and opened their museum to the public in 1998. They had 46,000 bunny related items, breaking the world record. I was actually going to visit it last year, but we never got around to it. This couple put their heart and soul into this. It was a non-profit so it was all donations, they even lived here. Stories like this break my heart. Good news -- they saved their 2 pet bunnies and 3 cats Also more good news -- found out they're planning on rebuilding! I have faith that the areas devastated will rebuild too; it will just take time. https://www.facebook.com/TheBunnyMuseum?ref=embed_page

8 likesthis maybe has already been mentioned but i thought i would share with LB just in case someone finds it helpful <3 donating to a mutual aid fund is a great way to directly help affected communities, especially with an immediate crisis, or to GET help if you're in the LA area — mutual aid LA network (https://www.instagram.com/p/DEjhEgiRE9y/?igsh=bzMwcm1ldnVzMW45) connects people with a bunch of smaller organizations. you can donate directly to them to help keep their work going or go through this spreadsheet (http://tiny.cc/malan-fire) and find a shelter, community center, animal shelter, etc. open to donations (i.e., venmo, etc. but also if you're in the area, physical items)

8 likesThis is so terrible and heartbreaking to hear 💔 And the fact that the High By The Beach house apparently burnt down is really sad, we lost an iconic place of LDR history. But it is way more heartbreaking and terrible for all the people and animals that live in such fear & horror right now and the ones losing their homes, friends and family. I hope the fires can get contained and that everyone is safe, this is all really sad to hear and I can't imagine at all how it must be to be there right now. Sending love & prayers

8 likesnot sure exactly where she lives in LA, but I can guess the general area. She would probably have to evacuate or she may be at risk of evacuating. Lana has mentioned many times in her music and poetry how awful the fires were in the past. As someone who has experienced multiple fires including being under mandatory evacuation, it's very traumatic. Focusing on her own safety and family/friends wellbeing is more important than releasing music lol. Even if she doesn't live in LA as much as she used to, we know how much LA means to her. Seeing a place you love being destroyed is heartbreaking especially considering this is the worst fire LA has ever had. On top of that, going through fires multiple times is very trauma inducing it's like reliving a nightmare. Your mind goes to fight flight or freeze. Posting about her music is most likely the last thing on her mind. As much as I would love to hear about the new album or singles, she needs to focus on herself. I hope she is safe and all is well with her, those in her life, and everyone in LA <3

Yeah, the destruction is going to be in the billions of dollars. Rich area or not, many people’s lives will be forever changed. Some drastically for quite some time. Some insurance companies recently dropped coverage for this type of disaster too. It’s heartbreaking. -
6 likesThey’re just mad because Hollywood has LGBT characters and they think that’s worthy of literally being burnt alive. I will never forget this moment. Conservatives are some of the worst on this planet

6 likesfor a kind reminder, the IG link related to the statement that "In a journal entry dated March 28th, 2023 posted on Instagram, Jack Antonoff wrote that 'Lana refuses to leave [the studio]' " is now dead but I managed to find a post by a fan page that posted about this around that time (the post is on July 4, 2023). Credited Niel Krug. This is probably the only direct proof that I can find. According to the post, these words appeared on a diary on a computer screen. Such format of writing also appeared in a post by Niel Krug dated June 13, 2024.

6 likesThe resources firefighters have are limited and stretched thin unfortunately. During previous fires the wind wasn't so bad because they typically occurred in the summer. With the winter weather, the heavy winds blew the fire out of control. The past three years have been the worst for fires because of climate change which is probably going to get worse over the coming years, and there's a procedure in place to try and prevent a mass-burning and keep damage as minimal as possible but it isn't always attainable with the resources they have. I think it was just one misfortune after another. Climate change + Santa Ana winds + Underfunded sector for fire prevention = disaster. I heard many of the water hydrants didn't even work for those poor firefighters, the situation is so sad.

6 likesyes, they are. her beliefs reflect who she chooses to align herself with; what she chooses not to say. white women are defined by historically choosing the comfort of their privilege and the status quo over disarming the oppressor. Using the facade of feminine grace and quietness to preserve power and capital. “I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro’s great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizens Councillor or the Ku Klux Klanner but the white moderate who is more devoted to order than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says, “I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can’t agree with your methods of direct action”; who paternalistically feels that he can set the timetable for another man’s freedom; who lives by the myth of time; and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a “more convenient season.” Shallow understanding from people of goodwill is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection.” - Martin Luther King, Jr.

6 likesAnd not only the people, pets, property, entire neighborhoods, and Cali landmarks, but the wildlife---squirrels and other small mammals, birds of all kinds, even insects that deserve their lives. There were terrible reports about pets on cable news last night--as well as that one horse ranch where 1-3 horses were led away to safety while the other were simply freed. Please. Those freed horses were in terror and very likely had no idea how to escape to safety. Was freeing them better than letting them burn to death in their stable? Of course. This is an American nightmare brought on by poor governmental planning (water, forestry) and lack of foresight (the Santa Ana winds blow hard every year, and Southern California has devastating wildfires every year, which Lana has sung about), nothing more.

6 likesOur part of LA (Lana and I go to the same Ralphs lol) is under watch but we have yet to receive an actual warning or suggestion to evacuate, so if it brings you any peace to know that this area should be alright. Regardless, it is so unsettling and sad to watch all of this and be so close to it. I don't think we were going to get any news about the album this week to begin with, but I agree that it definitely won't be happening now.
-
6 likesI get where you're coming from, and I don't think an announcement is coming for at least another month or two, but the decision to announce anything (single, album, whatever) lies with her label and not with her. plus, it's hard to find a time (especially in today's world) where there isn't some sort of suffering.

5 likesThe areas are mostly affluent but what scares me more is the economic effect this will likely have on the city, as well as the next one (which will probably be bigger/worse as the climate worsens). Coupled with the earthquake risk, I’d be very anxious if I was still living in LA. Palisades Fire is the closest I’ve seen a major fire get to the San Fernando Valley in my life, and that area is notably less affluent/more middle class compared to Malibu, etc
