Do y'all realize the amount of content this woman is simultaneously working on all at once? Holy fuck. She just put out COCC, she's working on a covers album (which may or may not ever see the light of day, we only heard about it 2-3 times...), she's working on RCS, Behind The Iron Gates, and she's working on putting together an album with Nikki Lane. 4 albums within the span of 1-2 years, not including NFR and Violet. If we count those and the audiobook last year, that's 9 projects along with assuming she's doing another audiobook for BTIG. What the fuck

What I'm worried about with Jack producing is that the same chords and melodies will be repeated. We need something fresh and new. Like I said before, Jack is a great producer in his own right, but I don't think he's incredible. He does seem very limited in a lot of aspects, and I'm pretty sure he reuses a lot of techniques with other artists he's worked with besides Lana. This is how originality dies.

i never know how to feel about jack - part of me honestly thinks the problem isn't his skills as a producer (i love a lot of his work both with lana and other artists!), but moreso the fact that he doesn't wanna say no to lana, that he doesn't wanna push her too hard and that he's happy just going along with whatever she says. if we look at UV, for example: we all know that lana and dan had a little drama during the making of that album because he kept pushing her and trying to do more, but the result was magic! UV is a rich, fiery album filled with layers and atmosphere. im not saying that any of lana's other albums aren't - i'm just pointing out that sometimes a little bit of artistic fighting can yield some really amazing results! jack strikes me as a bit of a "yes man" and not much of a detail-oriented perfectionist. lana herself definitely isn't a perfectionist. so when lana isn't too concerned about tying up little errors in production or striving for more atmosphere/layers/etc, jack probably won't want to push her and will be happy with whatever lana is happy with. i also don't necessarily think this issue is tied to just lana and jack - i think that sometimes when artists work together but they're also really close friends, they don't wanna upset one another in case they ruin the friendship! it's probably harder to remain professional, objective and a little emotionally detached.

it's fine to me that NFR and COCC are similar, they're siblings as lana said, but RCS is not and should not be in that family

yes to heaven is LOVED by so many people and the chorus is literally just "say yes to heaven, say yes to me" x 2 and she repeats "i've got my eye on you" like 6-8+ times same with your girl, "i wish i was your girl, i wish i was your girl" etc sad girl, "you haven't seen my man" x 4, "i'm a sad girl, i'm a sad girl, i'm a sad girl.... i'm a sad girl i'm a bad girl i'm a bad girl" most people i know adore all these songs - because the production, the atmosphere, etc of it all (which lana has a hand in creating, i'm not saying she's a bad artist or lyricist i actually don't mind the repetitive lyrics) is just beautiful

If Lana can repeat the same lines over and over again for an entire 4 minute song, a good producer can make it work well by giving it an appealing soundscape. For example, Angels Forever and Starry Eyed, both very repetitive but so incredibly addictive, why? Because whoever produced it (i think it was rick?) knew how to build a gorgeous atmosphere with a lot of pulsing, abstract sounds, giving it a timeless feel. The untouchable 5 era was golden. Jack could never Is This Happiness is a really good example too

If Jack is a producer on RCS he needs to really surprise us and shows us he is capable of doing a wilder/ different sound with Lana And I just miss the little details we used to hear in Lana's music..for example imagine NAWWAL would have a sound of chirping birds in the back , would have been a cute addition to the song but I think Jack is not able to bring up ideas like that I think he is somehow too basic

I don’t see how jack could have produced an entire album with lana when he couldn’t even finish chemtrails with her my guess is that they made some songs together during the time of the tjf instagram post (after qftc) and didn’t include them on chemtrails bc she wanted to save her angry thoughts for the next album. I still can't wrap my head around the fact that in January she told Annie that this was the first time she had finished an album (COCC) without having like 4 great songs she wanted for the next album and out of nowhere she's announcing an entire album for June like... Is she on cr4ck or summ? (JK don't suspend me) Anyway, I love the way we get close to 0 info and everyone interprets it differently...

Maybe Jack isn’t the only producer of RCS? i Love both albums they did together, but RCS needs to be louder and not so stripped back. I’d be okay with a slight delay to June 1, just as long as it’s not six months.
