it's not like Lana is actively promoting fast fashion, she just wore one cheap dress and people are grasping at straws–projecting their issues with mass consumptions onto her as if that's her fucking problem -

14 likesOkay, Paul Salem’s nondisclosure surrounding the DNC jacket really makes me think it’s a nod to a song title. I suppose a hint at the record’s title or even an individual lyric is just as possible This would explain why Paul Salem acknowledges that DNC could appear in future merch with, “Oh, it might!” since Lana loves to use song titles/lyrics for merch text. even being open to this idea shows it could be significant to her artistry! Also, many felt that the jacket didn’t match her outfit, and maybe she was aware of this. I know she isn’t Taylor Swift in terms of Easter eggs, but I feel this could have been an intentional, glaring hint???? The only other possibility I could see is something related to her upcoming poetry or the covers record, but I don’t know if it makes complete sense to get a jacket made for those two. Edit: Then again, if DNC is related to the covers album, maybe the covers record will indeed be a cohesive, full-blown era of sorts. If it’s related to her poetry, I guess it could be a poem title abbreviation! What do you all think?

that "3 white butterflies to know you're near" tho 😭 I don't know how it works for Americans, but in my home country, it is believed that if y'all see white butterflies the day your loved one gone, it is actually that person comes to see you and give you one last goodbye before they move on to the next life, because they just want to spend a few more moments with the people they loved and cared about the most when they were alive. -
13 likes"you not being here has turned me into a different person for now. Quiet." this really is a beautifully poetic way of describing how grief feels. this woman deserves all the love and support in the world i hope she receives it

13 likesi still believe that "DNC" is related to ldr9 or another project in some way, there's no reason for paul to be cryptic about it if it's just a random acronym for a california location or something, as well as the comment about the jacket potentially becoming merch, maybe that atrl user was just making a guess, not that they're actually "in the know", especially so early on in the album's creation

On the day I was born, a butterfly flew by my father and landed on his arm while he was holding me. He always thought that the butterfly was his mother who passed a couple months before then saying hello, and then a final goodbye x -

12 likesThis woman literally just mentioned like a week ago the new album is better than BB and she’s already teasing us without teasing us like……. Fuck me up lana you always manage to do shit like this???? Lol so who wants to guess the producer? I’m gonna say Mike and maybe a couple left overs from Chemtrails/BB eras? So maybe like 1-2 with Jack. But then again she was with Jack a couple weeks ago plus she’s in NY seeing her grandmother, so who knows, she might go chill with Jack and work on some stuff while she’s in the area

11 likesI don't know where to post but I need to say this , I love Yosemite so so much. Easily one of my fave songs of hers. I can't rank her discography but I just know for me that I would put it in the top 10. Lyrically it might not be her best written song but still I love the lyrics a lot. I love the place she is singing about. Also sonically it's somehow so mystical almost magical to me. The acoustic guitar, the sound effects The bridge is one of my fave moments in her discography, there is something so special about it. Also it might sound crazy but Yosemite sounds like nature, like it channels the energy of an mystic , old place somewhere in nature maybe even like a place like the actual Yosemite national park

11 likesElle was talking to the LDR Village director and they said DNC (the letters on Lana's Variety jacket) stands for something but they can't reveal what yet, so people think it's a song/album title. Also BOZ apparently posted on ATRL saying Lana is releasing something in February but I haven't seen a screenshot and ATRL is down so I can't say if that's real

11 likesNot me posting my DNC guess in the Polaroid thread anyway I figured it out you’re welcome DNC: Drugs not Clubs The Revenge (UV 2.0) Album by Lana del Rey Her never-been-done-before-except-the-one-time-for-ultraviolence, surf rock, guitar-drenched, magnum condom, COVID-friendly album proclaiming abstinence from the club scene to avoid spreading Corone by doing drugs at home instead because that’s a tune we can all get down to

11 likesSlant Magazine put Blue Banisters at #3 on their 50 best albums of the year list, and Chemtrails at #4, and chose Lana as the image for the whole article From their article intro: Even major label darlings like Lana Del Rey, who have built loyal fanbases but don’t fit easily into mainstream radio playlists, have thrown out the rulebook: The already-prolific singer-songwriter dropped two new albums this year and, to be perfectly honest, we had trouble agreeing on which one was better. What they said about Blue Banisters: “Let’s keep it simple, babe/Don’t make it complicated,” Lana Del Rey purrs at the start of “Beautiful,” a track from her eighth studio album, Blue Banisters. The lyric serves as a statement of purpose, reflecting the album’s pared-down arrangements. The decision to keep the music sparse draws focus to the lyrical content, which is some of the most razor-sharp and bitingly funny of Del Rey’s career. A fascination with color, a recurring thread that’s ever-shifting in its meaning, is weaved throughout Blue Banisters. When, on “Beautiful,” Del Rey quips, “What if someone had asked/Picasso not to be sad…there would be no blue period,” we understand “blue” to represent not just a state of depression, but one that yields inspiration. Del Rey’s vocals are as cherubic and distant as ever, stuck in a daydream but exactingly so. Sure, there’s an odd bit at the end of “Living Legend” where Del Rey’s trilling is processed through a wah-wah pedal, and there are several, perhaps inevitable, instances of thematic retreads from past albums. But by stripping back the sonic density of her previous work and taking its sweet time to unfold, Blue Banisters further fleshes out Del Rey’s increasingly vivid personal world. What they said about Chemtrails: The way Lana Del Rey connects different songs to one another, even across different albums (like Lust for Life’s “Cherry” and Norman Fucking Rockwell’s “Venice Bitch”), is peerless—perhaps rivaled only by Taylor Swift—and partly what makes her work so enveloping. On Chemtrails Over the Country Club, Del Rey delights in dropping breadcrumbs: Her discussions of jewels on the title track links with mentions of the same on a cover of Joni Mitchell’s “For Free,” and she sings fondly of her ranch near Coldwater Canyon, which “sometimes…feels like [her] only friend,” on “Tulsa Jesus Freak” and “Dance Till We Die.” These thoughtfully connected threads make the album feel as if it’s in dialogue with itself and the rest of Del Rey’s catalog. And while it doesn’t engage with our current moment or hot-button issues as urgently as Norman Fucking Rockwell does, it’s also part of a larger pop-cultural conversation—or at least, it has some hilarious and apt references to astrology, Kings of Leon, and How Green Was My Valley.

10 likesI firmly believe this thread will transition into a pre-pre-release thread soon, but don’t quote me on it Paul Salem’s comment has me thinking we’ll get something solid (even if just a little tidbit of info) in the next few months. Paul works hard, but the gays work harder A gay will eventually notice something—maybe a post from her hair stylist or Byron or a random comment “like” from Paul himself. We’ll just have to wait and see

The way she was just walking down the street and saw a dress she liked and bought it and now people are coming at her for “supporting child labor.” I don’t blame her for quitting most social media. Must be tiring -

9 likesIf DNC is to LDR9 what Venice is to NFR, then it's not the album title, but a hint at a single/location significant to the album I've missed theorizing Side note: this is just a random thought so take it with a grain of salt, but I wonder if the fact that BTD's 10th anniversary is coming up holds any significance. Probably not though lol

9 likesI also love the idea of Del Norte County because it retains Californian imagery while also lending itself to the North Country, AKA Lake Placid and the Adirondacks. It’s a perfect marriage between Lana’s early life and current life, which would be perfect to represent an album following Blue Banisters where she talks more about her family-of-origin and lineage. I’ll leave this here — North Country School, a boarding school https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Country_School
