Interview was so good. I love how she touched on these remixes sort of being replies to the original version of the track. I've not seen a "pop" artist really do that with their remixes and it has made the rollout so much more exciting. The way she was able to in real time react to the release of brat and her life since the release of it and how much has changed and then take those same exact songs and respond to totally reflect on the meaning and what she feels now is so interesting. So I being about the good times. Sympathy is a knife, now she IS the girl she was singing about in the original version, so now she speaks about the other perspective as everyone else says those things about her and getting Ariana on the track is just genius.

Even if no one cheered, I don't understand why she would care. She's Lana Del Rey. Who cares how people react to an announcement, just carry on unbothered with your next masterpiece on the horizon!

My only conclusion about her being in her feelings over this is that there must be tension behind the scenes with this album. Something ruffled her feathers with the industry going more country, she has said multiple times she predicted it, does she feel like people would think she's being reductive now? Maybe her label pushed back on her ideas... maybe the album kept getting nipped and tucked and now she doesn't know what to do with it. Even Jack recently sounded kind of ambivalent about the album. Something bad definitely happened to make her try to convince people that nobody cheered for her announcement. She feels frustrated and wants us on her side?

This year and last year were kinda revelatory about celebrities being not exactly the godly figures we took thought they were. There's a lot of backlash about a lot of people, and the ethics of celebrity culture at large is under scrutiny, which I believe is a good thing. For example, hosting the Met Gala amidst war, famine, etc. Some are coming across really well like The Weeknd with his massive donations and no ties to P. Diddy. Just cracking on with his new album and being the cool guy he is. Billie Eilish too with great music output and her ethical record pressing. But many are coming across as completely oblivious if not complicit as to what's happening in the world, whether it's Palestine, the environment, rape culture, and so on. Even musically, look at the backlash Katy Perry got for her misjudged cheap feminism abortion of a song. The judgement is severe. I feel bad that Dicaprio is dragged into some of this since he's been the Greta Thunberg of the Hollywood industry and one of the rare people with actual balls and a voice. But yeah, people have rarely been more aware and talking this much about celebrities, and who's the good guy and the bad guy. I guess we can thank the social media for all of that? During the 80s and 90s, all people could do was shout at their TV if they were annoyed by someone, and noone would hear that. Now we're streaming wars, colonialism, lies, political hypocrisy, and so much more in real time. So, yeah, people can't get away with the same shit that they used to. I think that's a good thing. It's also a bad in the sense of "fuck, we're so powerless" about a lot of these issues.

It's obvious being labelled a liar is a triggering issue for her. She has had so many unfair accusations of inauthenticity levelled at her since the beginning of her career. People saying her dad bought her record deal and she was just a rich girl cosplaying. But at the same time she needs to grow up. You have to have a strong disposition to handle the internet's opinion of you. Log off if you can't handle it.

I watched that reel that she commented on a few days ago, I actually found it funny and was still able to realise that the cheers came from behind the camera and the rest of the room was quiet. I found the joke funny, but also didn't take it seriously. I think the problem with these is that while the post may be lighthearted, you get these absolute buffoons in the comments blowing it way out of proportion and actually being quite hateful. Yet again, Lana's algorithm seems to love feeding her content about herself which results in situations like this where she tries to take control of a narrative that she unfortunately has no power against
