Nobody wants her to “recreate” anything, some people are hoping for music which gives us the same feeling a previous song might have given us. if wanting music that inspires strong feelings and excitement again is “reductive” then I guess I’m guilty lol

I honestly do think Rock Candy Sweet could be referring to an erect penis like if you think about it she's already had lyrics like "My pussy tastes like pepsi cola" "I'm crying while I'm cumming" and "'You fucked me so good that I almost said i love you" and it's always so casual so what's stopping her from singing about hard erect cock sweet? Y'all think she brought in em Mike Dean beats to sing about Oklahoma? No babes she's putting her entire coochie in this record it's only right. Also didn't that lil insider say he can't believe she's doing whatever she's doing? (i honestly don't know, y'all talk a lot i can't keep up but it's all love <3). Anyways her Erotica's coming! Ray of Light soon to follow after he paints her banisters blue & she gets knocked up or w/e

i feel like it's less people wanting her to recreate things she's already made and more wanting her to make something they love just as much also she's literally explored most genres. someone will always complain about her regressing and someone will always be excited because it's similar, maybe still different in a million ways, to their favorite lana song or record... girls can want what they want!

When I first heard the BB line I imagined it as Clay helping her during a depressive episode, like hey, lets finally get your banisters painted that color you wanted. Did anyone else feel this??

ottr is perfect as is, the baby voice gives songs like ottr so much character her current voice is obviously beautiful but there’s something about the way she sang in her older songs, it’s like no one else can sing them but her.

I do a lot of singing myself so I think I could explain her change in vocals and why they're not as good as her previous work: Simply put, COCC's vocals are very sparse in terms of using vibrato, breath control, chest voice etc. Instead, Lana is using her head voice a lot (which isn't ideal considering she's obviously more comfortable singing lower with her chest), and there isn't a lot of vibrato going on. Now if I were to sing songs from COCC, it wouldn't take much effort for me to sing them because there just isn't a lot of skill behind her use of vocals on that album. If I were to sing songs from BTD (Million Dollar Man, Cola), as well as UV (Black Beauty, The Other Woman), I would need to use my vocal chords a LOT more, especially the vibrato (the part where singers voice goes 'wobbly' when they hold out a note). So basically for Blue Banisters, Lana needs to get back to where her vocals are more comfortable (chest voice, contralto) which will create a more thick and fuller sound. That's what has been lacking with COCC in terms of singing. I feel like the COCC music wouldn't sound so 'empty' or 'weak' if Lana didn't use her head voice (light, breathy vocals). God I hope this makes sense. Sorry for rambling

I don't see any problem with wanting back old sounds. This happened with Metallica. They changed their original sound only to later get back and stronger. We don't have to act like every record from an artist that we like is a masterpiece

Right? I've seen so many posts for example about how it must just be immature young teens that appreciate stuff from the Born to Die era when in reality Lana released that when she was in her late twenties herself. You can appreciate any of her music at any point and age and it doesn't automatically mean you live in the past or want a 2.0 of the same things. I looove Lana from then and love her now too, if not even more! I hope that BB will be a very different album, unique like the other ones, but it doesn't erase how special her previous work is too for me.

no they don’t love the only thing they get right is the reliable stuff they steal from real insiders. the rule is: if the info comes from twitter its fake. how many eras until some of y’all learn this ?

they’re just regurgitating BOZ’s news and he said 2 week, don’t know where this ‘insider’ is getting 2-3, BOZ hasn’t said anything else

If the album is already done (assuming it is because BOZ has it all) there isn’t really much she has to do to prep for anything.. It’s also possible the ‘era properly starting’ in two weeks could just be an announcement of things to come plus she has two weeks to have fun and if she’s somehow doing radio shows or something it’s gonna be by phone, not like she needs to stay in LA

No wonder I was a bit disappointed by COCC... BB is already looking promising

Wishing for a song with a similar vibe to Bel Air or Terrance, but I don't think that's likely. Hopefully she posts soon, even just a track list so we can get some idea of the kind of mood of the album

You know I think she needs to be a little bit more “expressive” with her voice again. Listening to some older songs like blue jeans, cruel world, west coast, honeymoon etc her voice is so expressive she is conveying an emotion through it. We can still see it in her recent works like white dress and la who am I to love you but I just want for her to use it more often.

tbh while I love NFR and COCC, they never gave me chills or I never had a freak out reaction on first listen. Last time I had a wild first listening experience was with LFL and I really want to feel that again ?

this is really random but i think it's really cool that she's in sarasota because she's referenced it in "out with a bang", rework for blue banisters confirmed?

No more Lanaboards before bed I had a dream she ‘officially’ announced the album with the cover, track list, and a screenshot of lyrics that were mostly covered the album cover was predominantly green. It was a full body shoot, and she was naked, surrounded by leaves, with a leafy boarder. she described how she had to change a lot of the songs for the label to let her release it, but she kept RCS, and it is ‘hella jazzy’ Everyone on here got super mad because the lyrics of RCS stared out with her singing vagina in the choirs. she promised to release the song and video soon

Instead of doing my laundry I went car washing. And all the way through I was mumbling the BB snippet. It may not be the most exciting song lyrically but there is something captivating about it. Can't really put my finger on it.

Guys, I think we'll finally have a new producer on the list of producers that Lana has worked with. It is impossible that he (Mike) is not in BB (I mention this because I saw people saying that he is probably included in LDR8 not in BB) It is more than clear that he is involved in this album because whenever a producer is working on an album, they repost the album announcement in their stories or comments on the post and guess what? Mike did both! Most of the time this is only done by the main producer, as Jack showed support when Lana announced NFR AND COTCC (funny that now he has not done the same with BB) I love Jack and several of the albums he has produced but I feel like we already need something with a heavier production, just like he did with MASSEDUCTION, MELODRAMA or MAGDALENE. I think Jack and Mike could create something pretty cool, something worthy of Lana Del Rey. I still think that COTCC was just the transition for this album, it was something that had to be said and that's how it was, Lana herself said it "Sometimes life makes you change just in time for the next chapter" we all need / want an upbeat album with pop and hip / hop influences.

Do you guys remember a few months ago Lana followed this one photographer, Nadia Lee Cohen, on Instagram? Her work is very Americana but with a slightly provocative and thought-provoking twist. Maybe she worked with Lana on the BB cover/album photoshoot? It’s rare that Lana follows a photographer who she hasn’t worked with, and I feel like Nadia’s style could fit really well for an album where Lana will be challenging critics and the media. here’s her profile: https://instagram.com/nadialeelee?igshid=k67qfb9ji186
