QFTC was just cringe inducing, she didn’t think before she posted. I don’t think she’s racist absolutely not, but she was not aware of what she was saying and the implications it has. Just tone deaf from her, then she did an awful interview where she made comments about the insurrection that was a complete mess. But I don’t think it’s done as much damage as she thinks, her core fanbase is solid….the media forgets eventually.

to be honest i think this is really good, we're not being kept in a constant state of expectation and disappointment, the album is going to be so fresh. nfr era was just painful. i stood against snippets then and i still do now, it's all going to be worth it when we hear the album. this is way more peaceful for me than it was for any of her albums post honeymoon

I don't think timing would matter tho. If she waits 2 years for the next album she'll probably have the next 2 already written. BB came so fast after Chemtrails cause she was already working on it before we even knew it (Chemtrails) was coming (and obviously because of the delays). At this point of her career with nothing to prove to her label she has the freedom to write and write whatever she wants and all will eventually find a home. If the next album is full of piano ballads, it will be full of piano ballads whether it comes out this year or in 2030.

i think you're right, thats what shes going for but i don't think its something she needs to go for. she's already respected, she's got... -legends (bob dylan, joan baez, even priscilla presley lol) shouting her out and giving her props -her industry peers who like her (lady gaga, katy perry, kali uchis, jhene aiko, taylor swift, etc....male rappers seem to really like her too lol) -a generation of new alt girls (billie eilish, halsey, etc) who have said they're inspired by her and openly fangirl (or bite her style *cough cough* lorde) -ten grammy nominations, plenty of awards, born to die has charted for like 10 years straight, etc etc i think she has some kind of underdog mentality but it's not really warranted cause she's not an underdog...she's respected, she's acclaimed, she's accomplished. there's nothing left to prove

If we get snippets, or a snippet trailer, great. If we don't, great. I have an intuition that Lana is 'over' making pop music, for some reason, perhaps due to her maturity, at least the kind of pop music Lorde made on her last album and Taylor made with 'Gold Rush' on Folklore. It seems to me that Lana really wants to "say something" now with her music and poetry, and make some kind of 'mature' point, as she did on, say, 'Marriner's Apartment Complex,' 'The Greatest,' 'Hope,' 'White Dress,' 'Yosemite,' 'WFWF,' and 'Arcadia.' Lyrically, I expect more songs in that vein, songs that can be taken seriously, especially by her peers in the music industry.

honestly the misuse of "then" here is probably prophetic...

idk i'd be pissed too if i was insulted for creating something of myself on my own and being called so n so, to then influencing the mainstream/ sound and them getting praised for it and being forgotten and pushed back, with little to no recognition for a great part. i'm sure there's more to how it works but they took her wave and claimed it as their own when they were shitting on her before. i am very much glad other artists are praising her, but to have that on you starting out, she shouldn't've had such a tougher time breaking thru when other less seasoned artists were basically just getting their fame for being able to be marketable. good on her for pushing thru.

I agree with you but I think the issue with her is that she was treated so badly at the beginning of her career that no matter the acclaim (NFR for example) she will always feel not respected enough in the industry
