I'm sorry but I think that's a bit of a foregone conclusion. "Omg this album was pure trash!!!1!" to you maybe? I guess I'll be the stan trying to defend Blue Banisters at least a tiny bit. Not saying it's her best, it was obviously put together rather quickly and it wasn't really an original album in the sense that most songs weren't meant for the album to begin with and had been recorded years ago. I reckon that production wise, the so-called original songs are some of the finest she has released in years. The title track alone is one of her most earnest to date too like... It was a cute, rushed album, and while it's not a career defining one, that "pure trash" comment is really irksome. Lana stans just love trashing the last album during the pre-release of the next, it's kinda tired.

I just caught up with the thread and wow, the track lengths! This album is 1000% worth waiting for, god i'm so excited

I honestly think it's just mismanagement on her record label's end since Masochism isn't out yet. Like if a record label was able to pry two albums from SZA, who I would say is equally a perfectionist and vocal about it as much as Sky, then her record label should be able to steal the flash drive. So I can't blame her entirely. Though one thing I wish for her is that she was more confident. I feel like she isn't parting ways with Masochism because she has this vision that exists for it that is honestly probably beyond what even a blank cheque from her label could make executable. But at this point she could release a sub-ideal Masochism and then put her creative mind to work on a third record that actually scratches those creative itches she has. She's too afraid to fail, too afraid to fly. I think she would learn something from that if she would just put out an album imperfect to her standards! At the end of the day I am still going to enjoy whatever she does. I don't think her music would have this much of an appeal if she were any other way. It almost feels like the most perfect performance art. Everything about Masochism is masochistic. There's a beautiful sort of realness to it. I almost even prefer it this way than if Sky were consistently releasing music every two years. Rather than ending up like a moderately washed up Tumblr girl () whose releases seem to live in the shadow of their golden era peak, Sky creates this never ending mystery that keeps giving with a decent single release promoting this elusive album every few years. She'll always have that cool unavailability of a truly troubled artist! Honestly, overall, I just wish that this lady would be happy in this life.

i’m so excited for the album but what do i do once it’s out and i’ve already digested it? like it’s literally over.. like, nothing compares to the excitement and hype of a pre release and i’ve been around for every pre-release after LFL.. i’m not ready to say goodbye to this crazy thread but we all know she’ll probably start teasing LDRX like the day after release .. see you in the pre-pre-release

I don’t even know if I want another single at this point, since the overwhelming opinion of the people who have heard the album is it’s an experience that should be enjoyed all at once that said, I’d love some visuals for title track and an album trailer with a couple snippets just so we can get a better feel of what to expect

I think I actually dont need another single atp, even tho the wait until March 24th can be devastating but at the same time, i want the main course, without any entrée. I want my first experience with the album to be more of exploring the unknown, so that the album can be more impactful as the first impression. So in the meantime, i prefer some album trailers, teasers, visuals, interviews, merch, instagram posts, livestream & album photoshoot (and unreleased leaks too , to deflect us a bit about the album so that we dont need to keep focusing on a single thing without getting anything any sooner)

And to think that in the LFL pre-release era, HM was called a snooze fest…

its just lowkey upsetting that some ppl have already decided for some reason that they dont like the album?? we have heard one completed released song, like i would really really wait before comparing it to cotcc and bb in a negative way just comes off as trying to find something to complain abt atp (also u cannot tell me there’s not more hype for this era than bb lol… cuz there is by a LONG long shot) and this is coming from someone who listens to way more of lanas old music!! i can feel that way and have that preference without complaining abt every little thing 💀

"i talk to jesus" would totally fit on this album lyrically, its really one of the only songs that i actually would want lana to re-work.. it's like the lyrics foretell in a way parts of her and career and life in a way idk it feels very ahead of the year it was written (likely late 2011) and i could totally see lana writing these lyrics for this album - we had a deal and i fucked it up when i made the decision to become someone - i had a boyfriend he came from this town we used to pretend we would marry and start again - he read the bible showed me what jesus said he said only read the red (this seems significant to me because in certain bibles the words spoken directly from jesus while he was still alive are printed in red - it could be some type of metaphor for their relationship or it could just be that this guy only wanted jesus's direct words but either way i could see lana writing this now) - i never meant to hurt you baby it's so hard to be true in this world where everything's so black and blue - it's so hard to be good in this world where you do what you know you should
