Sorry but absolutely no to anything religion based again We have to live with giving money to Judah Smith already, we don’t need to send him more cash bc she does an entire album with interpolations of his ramblings.

Ocean Blvd is a great album, but it has so many flaws, the mixing, the incoherency, too many samples, too many interludes, the unclear vocals, and many other things, it just lacks having its own atmosphere, when I listen to it, I feel like I’m listening to 3 different albums, I really hope lasso will be cohesive, with crystal clear vocals and great mixing.

In a perfect world we’d get a single this month since it’s been 2 months since tough, then another single and album preorder in November, and then the album in January. Two months between each droplet is the perfect amount. But we don’t live in a perfect world so we’re probably going to get both singles December 27th with no video or album preorder

Me too. Reading 564 pages of basically nothing is starting to piss me off a subconscious level. Would it have killed her to give us a relase date? Or the single's name. Fucking hell

we need something groundbreaking again like Norman

This is becoming the NFR era all over again. What a horrible drought

Manifesting murder ballads. Like, I know she said that the lyricism is lighter but I think that under lighter she meant that it's less wordy and more world-building. So I'd still think that with lighter lyricism she'd still nail the storytelling of a legend or murder tale.

Pls this is nowhere near as bad as NFR or the Rock Candy Sweet limbo when the hate train was peaking and the 3 songs just getting dropped randomly and no word from her This is still fine by her standards lol

I thought this was a new lana song title before I saw it was in the movies/tv thread

People saying Charli can’t act have clearly never seen Charli interacting with Camila Cabello!

I don’t know why but I don’t want to hear a word about this album on this site anymore

I still hope that Henry Come On is on the album. It sounds so great. I love the clear guitar. Her vocals are also so good and clear, reminds me the vocals of 2013 Tropico and Ultraviolence era outtakes. It's so calm and soothing. Like a country lullaby!

Just checked and the Tunnel pre release thread was 3372 pages. We may have a way to go 😳

I really hope we get some eerie visuals with religious imagery tinges to accompany the alleged southern gothic sound but I just can't see Lana doing that after 3-4 (amazing) simple album shoots. Like I'd love to see her in an abandoned church in a forest (like that IG picture) or in a misty swamp but I doubt she's going full on concept (and we don't even know what's the real sound of the album anyway). I feel like we're getting something similar to the UV photoshoot, on the simpler side but with some dark and lowkey creepy undertones

It kinda blows my mind that September is here. I remember thinking in February that it seemed so far away and yet it's just here now? This year was such a whirlwind for me it feels like so much happened yet nothing happened at the same time. Most years are like that tbh. I wish I could go back and tell my February self that we still know zilch abt Lasso- although I don't think my past self would be that surprised

I meant culturally groundbreaking. The world was gagged when A&W was dropped. The album went also viral so fast with Peppers, Margaret and Let The Light In as the most viral songs off the album. It did not get 5 Grammy nominations without a reason.

I'm sooo quiet about this because there's so much to listen to right now, so many new (and old) songs to discover, so much to do! And most important I'm quiet because she never disappoints at the end

Ocean Blvd is my second favorite Lana record and I agree with everything you said

she described it as country, American and southern gothic with light lyrics. Now a big part of the fanbase has been focusing on southern gothic and throwing Ethel in the mix but I think these people will be very disappointed. As far as we can see Lana seems to be quite happy and resolved and I really don’t see anything in the likes of House in Nebraska or Ptolomea coming out of her bag. The way I see it, it’s more likely we’ll get something like a melodic folky-ish/country-ish sound similar to Country roads/summertime/textbook/the grants

COTCC has really great songs in it, people forget that we got bops like Tulsa Jesus Freak and Dark But Just A Game. I wouldn't mind if the whole Lasso album sounds like these two songs.

Ocean Blvd is technically better than Norman but most of the mixing/mastering of Ocean sucks so it kinda ruins the experience of that record Really hoping she fixes that for Lasso

White dress is so underrated. Her vocals remind me of a softer Janis Joplin. She sings similarly in the other version she did of summertime.

i wonder what the underlying influences will be on this album tbh. like, are we getting cutesy fun old school country or are we getting dark, fucked up country? who knows at this point

Yeah thats realistic! I think first single either September or October (although I need it this month 😣) and yeah defo second single most probs late November or December (after election) Yeah as much as I hate songs from upcoming albums being leaked! I’ve got to admit I love a good insider who gives us that slither of info when we’re rlly in the trenches. Jinn was good but 1. We dk if he was fake and 2. He only knew about 3 songs rlly and no release dates or anything (just rough theories based on info they had) I’ve got to admit that the insiders during OB era were very helpful but sometimes they gave a bit TOO much info and rlly all we need for now is an insider who can give us a release date or some shit before I lose my mind 💀💀💀

oh our boyfriend the synthpop ballad smash hit that you are… whitney's spirit was with charli in the recording booth that day and the lord himself guided good sis eyelar's pen when she wrote it

She would definitely fit on Guess but I would much rather a new song with her on it since we already have a guess remix. Hopefully it’s one of those remixes with an entirely new flow like VD or 360 was.

This. I think she’s been working on a country album for a few years now - maybe recording songs while she’s been inspired traveling and singing with Nikki Lane - but it’s taken on a new shape recently and she’s spending time fleshing this out. I’m excited for this album and she can take her time working on it

Lead single this month, next single November, full album by January, would be the same amount of time as ocean blvd’s rollout

And let’s not ask Lana: let’s just say she is very creative when talking about her albums Not that it’s false, just not the whole picture

I think we have more chances of finding out with @hotshot2am, by going through her website for any updates The usual and reliable insiders from passed eras are almost nowhere to be found these days (it really feels like Lana’s team reached out to them to keep quiet 🤐, although I have no proof to back it up)… and the only « is insiders » we got these days really raise a lot of suspicions, so I don’t know

well at least she's not flicking the fans off like lfl. I feel like u just gotta do something w the time in between and come back when something's announced can't be bothered imo

It’s a song by Haley Bonar which Lana sort of sang with her while on a tour. They were supposed to release a studio version if I’m not wrong but it never came.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that she changed her tour intro to the Tropico score + visuals and opened with Body Electric in Paris. This, along with the “Has Anyone Else Died For You?” sign, points to a strong religious motif that evokes the Southern Gothic subgenre. And I think the song that she debuted at Fenway (“Past, Present, Future”) has a few eerie elements like the descending chord progression, ominous spoken word verse, and banshee-like layered vocals that remind me of the supernatural (hence, it’s the voodoo, Mississippi south). From a purely aesthetic standpoint, as well, her penchant for black veils this year (Skims campaign, Coachella weekend 2, Rock en Seine) fits in.
