I for one am glad she's sticking up for herself. You have to call out bad faith actors or they will control the narrative about you. It's about time a celebrity stood up to click bait libel that passes as celebrity news nowadays.

1 hour ago, ultrarescent said:I actually understood everything she meant. And I kinda agree with Lizzy. She is not dismissing the problem of capitalism but is more so pointing it's root. Narcissism is where it all starts. And the madness of Trump has exposed so many people and their true intentions through out this year and through out his presidency. I liked her commentary on that. She even agreed that her behaviour can be quite impulsive and reactive. I don't know why people find it "problematic". It's just the fact that she jumps from one topic to another that is super confusing.
yeah i wasn't bothered because I'm used to talking to incoherent people, addicts, drunks, and I understand what she was trying to say and a lot of it had truth to it. She was also clearly intoxicated.....

she totally made some great points I just don't think she articulated them clearly

As a Courtney Love and Judy Garland stan I thought that was an extremely eloquent coherent interview

lana like all rich people of all races and creeds is completely self absorbed. well meaning but obnoxious. that doesn't make her racist just out of touch. but honestly she needs PR staff and to stop responding to every bit of criticism unfair or not... yada yada something about feeding the trolls.
On the cover- i like it but i feel it couldve been more visually stunning but maybe she was going for plain and rustic in which case congrats she succeeded. There might very well be alternate cover vinyls they'll start showing tomorrow or shortly after.

We have some contradictory nominations this year! Did your favorite members get recognized? Don't worry if you didn't! There were a LOT of votes and it was hard to narrow them down, so I am sure all of your names got mentioned at least once. There's always next year as well! I realize that @lanadelrey does not tag the right person, so please let them know of all of their nominations! Let the competition begin and the best member win!

It’s an honor just to be nominated ( vote for me bitchez)

seriously tho, it will be like it always is: the reviewers who never liked lana will continue to parrot the popular opinion on her whether that is positive or negative. music criticism (at least by the trades (tho fantano plays this game sometimes) has been dead since the 90's and is now based on clickbait and fandom feeding.) When it was popular to bash lana they did so (even tho BTD was objectively iconic fantano gave it a laughably low score), once the public showed she was popular the trades started playing nice with miss del rey (uv and hm reviews were higher, albeit they still didn't love her and the controversies gave them cover). LFL and NFR were highly reviewed because sites like spin and et all had been using her name for clickbait for years at this point, and they didn't want to piss of the fans and not get traffic as well as lana now had blandly neoliberal politics and social opinions so they tolerated her. NFR got ridiculously high reviews because she was now politcally optimal, jack antanoff was her producer and the trades never miss a chance to blow him (i like antanoff but u kno this is true)QFTC as well as halsey and that other girls stunts in regards to lana accidentally capturing looting, will give critics who don't like lana a lot of leeway to be more lukewarm in their appraisal of the record, The trades will probably play both sides to get maximum clickage from stans haters and those who are both (hi lanaboards). the reviews will be more mixed but they might be positive bc a lot of sites have fired actual critics years ago to hire interns who just wank for celebs in order to fund the clickbait model. buzzardfeed will definitely have positive and negative listicles written by some poor underpaid or not paid intern who picked the wrong year to move to new york city

200 Cigarettes. A great New Year's movie rom com starring lots of talented actors including Courtney Love and Paul Rudd. Great movie. Dave Chapelle plays a hilarious taxi driver.

•Swan Song is one of the best songs she’s produced in terms of atmosphere.
•The bridge to Wait for Life is one of her most vocally emotive performances; in bridge, she combines jazz improv singing with near-screaming of the phrase, “Feels like I’m falling apart.”
•I feel as though LMLYLAW won’t be fully representative of COCC’s sound in the same way Bartender didn’t encompass all of the sonic elements on NFR.
I agree with all of this guess I'm unpopular

In the livestream she name drops wanting to do Patsy Cline songs, and walking after midnight always seemed like a song Lana would sing
my favorite patsy cline song. I would literally die if Lana covered it

Somethings last a long time: emotionally raw, one of the best tracks of Lana with a more minimalist production, is clearly a song important to her

Thanks for sharing this. I love that Lana was so involved with the production of HM. Why it’s her Magnus Opus I guess

but fr I’m not putting any stock into these livestream announcements anymore lol
My all time favorites are her covers of Cinnamon Girl and It’s All Over Now Baby Blue
