18 likesI want her deeper vocals back..like Summertime or BIG EYES. From LFL she started going higher and higher with a ??sweeter voice. Her voice used to be so dark and convey anguish and depth. I adore her sweet voice but 3 albums are over now. Bring back the strings and bring back the deeper vocals. Or mid range too. And more singing less talking. Nfr is my fav tho. But I want RIDE vocals. Or I CAN FLY. There was a dark richness to her deep vocals. Her higher register is too sweet/sunny. Her revenge album should include RAGE,GLASS BREAKING,SCREAMING, (TS BLANK SPACE VIDEO VIBES)

Unpopular Lana Opinions
Lirazel and 15 others liked a post in a topic by lili
I have never had a problem with the lyrics of “Ultraviolence” (the song). I’ve always believed true art expresses the ugly and fucked up in a beautiful way so that we can understand the mindset of the individuals under less-than-desirable circumstances. -
15 likesFull agree. I really miss that particular voice whenever I hear parts of BTD/P. The whole first verse of 'Ride' gives us that voice at its best, even the beginning of 'G&M.'

14 likesBut ya I feel like this album is gonna be a departure from the NFR/COTCC vibe. Even if JA is still the main producer, he's actually pretty versatile I feel--the man produced both "This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things" and "August" after all

12 likesI am probably in the minority but I hope this album's aesthetic is not candy themed. It's been done to death, most notably by Katy Perry and Lana isn't one to follow trends created by other artists and I'd be really disappointed if she did. The aesthetic is pretty much never based on the literal meaning of her album title so I'm not too concerned that she will, but ..

11 likesAs the days go by I’m thinking less and less that jack is going to be the sole producer of this record. He used to like all of her chemtrails related posts but didnt like anything of rcs despite being very active on ig.Also in the november igtv where she said she was recording american standards and classics w Zach Dawes she said “and bunch of other little things”. I think in the session when she did Dealer they came up with other songs that were similar to it that she would make into rcs. And I kind of feel like mike dean produced blue banisters. I wouldn’t be surprised if the new sound is very different from chemtrails I mean this is the same woman who went from UV to HM

11 likesI agree with you that Chemtrails is a stall era... and the music is exactly that: a réflexion on how to do her job as a singer, for the most parts. I don’t think it was supposed to be that, in the beginning: I feel like there was supposed to be a « second part » to this record, heading into what she envisions the future will be in her life. RCS is probably that, which seems to be the reason why she wants to move fast in that era and leave Chemtrails behind. I don’t listen to this album every day either, but when I do, it sounds very good and cohesive and yet, it’s a mood and not a super light one, which spring should be about.

10 likesWith LDR Village, I feel like she could make some really cool merch for Rock Candy Sweet! 1. I would love if she made crystal-themed merch for each song on the album, since actual rock candy bears a striking resemblance to crystals. Maybe a necklace with a crystal pendant using an amethyst or something like that, or the actual crystals themselves. 2. And I don’t vape or smoke or anything like that, but I feel like it would totally be up her alley if she sold crystallized/bejewelled vapes in collaboration with Mi-Pod (since she owns so many of their chunky square vapes) and each variant came with a different flavoured pod, all with candied flavours (like cotton candy, for example). 3. Since there’s a beauty salon at LDR Village, I would love if her rumoured collaboration with Gucci Beauty also led to a full line of makeup sold exclusively online at LDR Village and select retailers like Sephora or Ulta. She could do an eyeshadow palette and name each shade after a song on the album, and make lipsticks named after various lyrical motifs from the album. It’s about time we have false-eyelashes and lip-liner sold by Lana. I also feel like she could sell a really cool highlighter using very on-the-nose/meta imagery for Rock Candy Sweet. so many ideas! I might have to do some mock-ups just for fun lol <3

10 likesi just really hope some effort is put into this era. chemtrails was so anti climatic to me and wasn’t worth the 6 month wait imo- there was no hype surrounding it (not even by lana), no album trailer, barely any new photo shoots and her worst album cover to date. overall i liked the album but i haven’t been in the mood to listen to it since march (besides white dress). lately she seems more in a determined mind set, one that matches the music she wants to put out so i really hope she has something up her sleeve. it seems like we’ve been in the same era since lfl ended

9 likesIt’s funny, because Lana has been pandering to the critics for 2 albums now with soft little uncontroversial piano lullabies. Now she’s gonna come out with an album that has fire and revenge and a big FUCK you to critics?? I don’t buy that at all...it’s gonna be more lullabies like White Dress and Let me Love you like a women.

9 likesValley of the Dolls is such a beautiful ballad. No wonder it's so hard to get into any of the L+F piano crap. This one is exceptionally powerful... Probably my favourite ballad from the entire repertoire of Marina's. Diamandis and Nowels created masterpiece.

9 likespeople who haven’t been through certain hardships or even just have an open mind to all sorts of artists expressions will simply never get it lol. They lack the compassion and understanding to realize art like that is just as worthy of existing as songs and about sunshine and rainbows. They find the song appalling (which, in a way, they should) but misplace their outrage to the artist and the song, instead of the message behind it. They’re mad at Lana for making a song about abuse when they need to be mad at abuse.

Damn, serving "all black men look or sound the same" -
9 likesThis is probably so random coming from me, but suddenly the whole revenge-plot of Rock Candy Sweet is reminding me of: And just her delivery of those lyrics, mixed with how chaotic that song is, is truly iconic it’s really giving Dealer/Noir comparisons from last year but on a serious note and all jokes aside - I really am excited to hear how she’s going to seek revenge on this album. Brooklyn Baby, Money Power Glory, and Fucked My Way Up to The Top really explored her more vengeful sentiments regarding her place in the music industry perfectly. I cannot wait.

Is This Happiness
bluechemtrails and 7 others liked a post in a topic by lili
I love how she’s asking herself whether what she’s experiencing is happiness as if she cannot be sure because she has never come across it before or loving someone deeply does not promise a great relationship and happiness and she’s questioning that. Her fragility is out of this world. Love her. -

despite This i still get what you're asking. the label most likely paid them to feature on the song to give it buzz. normally labels try and add popular names to singles to reach a wider audience -
7 likesI have the old stuff as “and the diamonds” and the new stuff just as “marina” cause honestly her newer stuff is nowhere near the quality of the first 3 records...

7 likesExcuse me, but what "lack of photoshop skills" are you talking about?! This is amazing!!! <3 and YES - we can DEFINITELY manifest this colour scheme. These pinks + blues are a dream and the way you edited this really reminds me of Neil's pictures for Honeymoon. Absolutely gorgeous and I hope she goes in this direction visually! I also love how you did the font for the album title - it looks like those neon LED signs and I love it so much. Please share more of your artworks because I have a feeling that with enough of our collective pining after this vibe, it will come to fruition!
