Who else is scared of Santa Clarita fires and wished that it would rain girlies?

People blatantly trashing the new songs and calling it “constructive criticism” can’t even be taken seriously, especially when the same people were dismissing Honeymoon as a “snooze-fest” back in 2015 and would say “Lana needs to stop working with Grandpa Nowels” but now beg for him to come back. It’s cyclical and the lack of self-awareness is appalling. Be respectful or leave. You don’t have to like every single piece of music, but you also don’t have to disrespect the people making the music. They’re human too!

I couldn't care less if people don't like Lana's newer music (sucks to be them ) but it definitely is exhausting when the criticism isn't constructive or engaging but just rude. We don't really need to repeatedly hear people say "flop this, Nikki Roach that, this person sucks, that person is lazy, etc etc." Trashing the work isn't the same as discussing it.

Manifesting Lana hazily nourishing us with her new record

i want her to do something completely different. an artist never repeats an era, so i don't think i would like a BTD 2.0 or an UV 2.0 since she's working with mr dean, i think it would be cool to see her doing something more electronic? futuristic in a way? lots of synths and percussion, an 80's fliperama vibe, kinda like after hours. i would also DIE for an RnB album, she honestly could be capable of giving us some slow twerking bops, like the latest Kali Uchis record. whatever it is, i think it would be important for her to step out of her comfort zone! since nfr i think she has found her 'perfect sound', but it would be nice to see a change.

I guess you could call it delulu I was looking for the producer I wanted back And I thought I found it in Mike Dean It seemed only appropiate he'd easily make bops You got hip-hop beats, BTD had some too Let's make a piano flop, I'll design the cover for you

it's totally valid for people to not like her current work, but at least put some respect on the people who worked on it. you can't praise mike for clapping back at people who say WW is trash and then proceed to say it sounds like it was made at garage band when it probably took a lot of time to get to that dirtorted effect.

Me to all of you, who after hearing those three tracks, think we're still getting "pop bangers!!!!!" Please. please just put Born to Die and Lust for Life on repeat and leave the rest of us alone who don't need her to be a pop star

man this thread has been bumming me out lately. I respect y’all’s opinions but damn I feel so much negativity in the air also does it feel like Lana is mad at us or is it just me lol

Tbh I don’t really get the people who are like “HER SONGWRITING GROWTH!!!!!!” after the 3 new releases. Ok yeah, the lyrics are some of her most personal, but her lyrics have generally always been complex and multilayered. Also, the Blue Banister’s production is probably the simplest she’s released and it lacks a melody. Text Book is good but it sounds similar to the production of her past eras. I feel like people are equating personal lyrics and more stripped down songs to be more mature and therefore better songwriting. To me, something like AKA is way more impressive considering how unique and innovative the whole thing is, especially given the fact that nothing else sounds like still today this day AND she released it as an indie artist. Also, if you are praising her being so personal now, um hello? Pawn Shop Blues was released 11 years ago. I’m not saying these songs aren’t good or that it’s not interesting to see Lana evolve, but I don’t get how people are losing their minds over these 3 songs when she’s released AKA, UV, NFR, and BTD in the past, which may not be as personal or “mature” sounding, but were/are far more innovative and interesting given the period of time they were released in and in general imo.

Let’s say, she is releasing two albums back to back. Is the pandemic the reason why she‘s able to pull it off now (either Ben or Ed said that), because she has a very good reason not to tour? But then again she accompanied Nikki Lane. Or is it because her muse is just this strong now? So much mystery, very intriguing

WAIT she did not remove RCS post ??!! MAYBE we will get something on June 1st!!!!

The whole discussion of music Lana wants to make vs. music fans want her to make is totally moot. There is only one Lana Del Rey. She's only ever gonna make the music she wants to make. If she didn't, she wouldn't be Lana Del Rey. Of course, nobody has to like it, but you're gonna get what you're gonna get. As for the production, all three songs have very layered and deep production. You don't have to like it, but to act like it's amateurish and unintentional is just bs.

I really love the sound the new songs have (seriously I've streamed WW +30 times already ) but at the same time I want a stargirl baddie wah-wah guitar witchy hip-hop album, can't pick a side

god this tired ass argument again? no one, and i mean NO one, wants this from lana. no one. wanting some strings, beats, bass, mixing that doesn’t sound like it was made by amateurs, whatever isn’t asking for pop or “shake your ass" music. and wanting this type of production or anything that sounds as good as her production pre-nfr isn’t wanting BTD 2.0 either. she can make art, and she used to, with productions that are far more interesting or different than simple piano or over saturated fake drums. if y’all enjoy the garageband pianos great but accept that there are people who don’t.

What– I don't hate you. I don't hate these songs, but here's the deal: I'm seriously tired of this type of discourse and counter-criticism, it's like whenever someone says "well derr I'm not sure about this/these new song(s)" or "I don't like this new song because of x reason(s)" there is always that one person that comes along and discredit people like "UGH WE GET IT YOU WANT LANA TO DO BORN TO DIE OR ULTRAVIOLENCE 2.0 GET OVER YOURSEL!!!!1!". It's like people can't just not like a new song/album, because they just don't like said new song/album. Normalize not liking something Lana does while not necessarily wanting her to release material that harkens back to a specific time and place in her career. I'll even go one step further, normalize just not being enthralled with her approach on specific albums, because you have like opinions and personal preferences. I know this will sound annoying to some of y'all coming from me, the so called no. 1 NFR or Jack hater, but I said what I said.

I think 'Serene Queen,' cut from LFL as we know, had a vibe that was both 'futuristic'/techno-ish and 'witchy.' It's one of my favorite leaked tracks.

Still waiting for them to leak the whole LFL demo album

This era won't be it, but if at some point in time she fully did and stuck to a retro futurism theme for an era, I'd be so here for it

You know what I would love? An album cover where Lana is drawn in the style of the Jetsons. Some people here have mentioned Lana going back to retro-futurism and that would be really cool to see

I’m praying that these three ‘buzz’ singles are like the LMLYLAW of BB….Hopefully she takes it up several notches with production. You don’t really hire Mike Dean just to do piano ballads so she has got to have something up her sleeve.

See, I think the opposite. I think the distorted affect adds a level of depth to the song that makes it so unique and even more genius. It was clear to me on first listen that the distorted sound was intentional and it’s actually really well done. Gives the song a level of imperfection quality, while actually being perfect. Mike Dean’s mind!!
