the way some people cannot wrap their head around the fact that their favorite artist is not a circus animal designed to dance and perform for them 24/7 to "keep them entertained" is truly something i am so glad she does not listen to her "fans". some of them are truly her biggest enemies truly.

I lowkey love that Taco Truck is so short. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE that part of the song, but it's such a creative power move for her to give us one minute of a masterpiece and then say "although it seems I've gotten better, I can be violent too" right before she pulls the rug from beneath us and abandons the song completely to transition into a dirty remix of her most iconic song instead

wtf are you talking about? she's a singer, music is her job, it takes work for artists to write music, record vocals, work with producers to get the exact sound they want, and decide what gets released, she also does the occasional photoshoot or interview, also, not to mention the fact that it can take hours, days, or even months just to do one song, she shouldn't have to do anything she doesn't want to do, her job can be difficult, being famous isn't easy, but even if her job was easy or more like a hobby, she still doesn't owe anybody anything

I do find it so interesting to compare the score to someone like Caroline Polacheck, who's last album was Godly, but the critics seem so much more receptive to the fact that Caroline herself is a genius than bestowing that on lana. They have a built in misunderstanding no matter how much she says otherwise that Lana, even with the recent praise, still has some sort of machine behind her, like it's not enough for them. Idk what more she can give them to make them happy, so fuck em.

No new merch coming at the moment and if they add something to their inventory I'll post about it here.

You are not her employer and she is not your employee. She is under no obligation to do anything for you. Logging off and a bit of introspection might help.

she just released a great album. what more do you want? as far as i'm concerned that's enough. artists shouldn't have to continue to do a bunch of silly things following an album release to keep our attention. she did her part. either enjoy the album or pick up some new hobbies to occupy yourself with.

Fingertips is the jewel of the album. Those strings mixed with her most revealing, and best, lyrics makes that song 3 minutes long. The fact that it's the lowest streamed song....it's the lack of taste from the masses, let me keep this frickin gem for myself then.

I promise I’m not throwing shade, looking down on anyone, saying my taste is better or more sophisticated than anyone. I seriously meant none of my comment to be hurtful or snobby at all though I may have failed at that. I do understand the album is very slow. It’s not the one I’m going to put on in the background when friends and family are around. Doin Time and Summertime Sadness will be the songs played then. Songs like the title track, Sweet, Kintsugi, Fingertips are not my usual favorite type of Lana song or song in general at all. I didn’t even care for the title track much when it was released. But her songwriting on those songs is just unbelievable, especially listened to in the context of the rest of the album. I’m just saying that this album is feels like Lana has put so much detail, thought, and of herself in it. It feels like such an expansion into who Lana is and such a mix of styles from all her previous albums that I feel like fans are missing out if they aren’t giving it a chance and diving in (because it can be slow and depressing and hard to appreciate right away).

80/100 on metacritic now with Uncut 7/10 review added. From "Universal acclaim" the album is now "generally favourable reviews" https://www.metacritic.com/music/did-you-know-that-theres-a-tunnel-under-ocean-blvd/lana-del-rey/critic-reviews The fact that this album is struggling to be above 80/100 is a blasphemy. I call B.S.

I mean this in the nicest and least pretentious possible: I feel sad for people who don’t vibe with this album and don’t consider it her best work. It’s one of the best albums of all time and my personal favorite album of all time. I’ve never seen her songwriting so strong or so personal, so creative (and lord knows she’s always been incredibly creative). This feels like the most Lana album we’ve ever gotten and the most of Lana we’ve ever been given. I understand people have different music tastes and have different experiences and personal ties to certain albums or music. But I really don’t understand how, if you’re a true Lana fan, you don’t like this album or don’t consider it one of her best. I NEVER thought she’d be able to top NFR or her other albums, but this feels almost like it’s in a different realm for me. And that’s not me knocking on any of her past albums because I think just as highly of them as I ever have - it’s more of a testament to how highly I think of this album.

what do you want her to do lmfao? she doesn’t care about numbers so she’s not gonna go on every talk show in the universe. she hasn’t done much after album releases since 2017 and if you don’t like that unstan… be grateful we’re getting multiple mv’s we’re not complaining cause what else is there to do? she dropped an amazing album and that’s all we can ask for

well while people like Phoebe Bridgers getting above 85/100 scores so easily, its so unfair to see Lana & her brilliant artistry is struggling to stay above 80/100

judah Smith interlude is so good it flows so well from aw to candy necklace and works the bestest for the album atmosphere... so glad she added this eventually

I think the coke necklace is definitely coming since she said she had a prototype for it, but it may be a longer wait than we think lol My guess is it will either drop with the CN music video, be available around when the festivals start (so I guess in May?), or even longer The original necklaces had some flaws where the heart kept falling off the spoon so they're probably trying to make it better this time...so many companies with dupes have figured out how to make the heart stay on better but with slight variations in the design, so that might be why its taking longer

Watch Sweet and the other songs that aren’t as high right now on the ranking become new favourites in the months to come seriously, Sweet is so beautiful even if it’s easy to overlook it because of the other two « book end » tracks that are OB and A&W. she sure gave us an album that has a lot of replay value

I really don't get Margaret slander at all. It is literally so heartwarming, organic and beautiful. Jack sounded good, Lana sounded angelic.

The aesthetic and feeling of this record is so cool and timeless to me. Part of me just wants to ride on a jet ski and go to arcades and cry into a beach towel on a hot summer night when I listen to it, the other half wants to go on a long introspective road trip and stop at all the dive bars along the way

9 albums, countless shoots, a poetry book and 5 tours in 10 years is a hell of a lot what more do you want from this woman shes pumped out content for 10 years (with countless tracks existing without even releasing them officially)... she can laze around between cycles if she wants
