Reading the article it sounds like Lana just liked the studio so she came back to record some songs for fun. Maybe it's "secret" because she doesn't know yet what she will do with these songs. The instruments used don't sound like country.

I saw Colin Lott’s Instagram post and he says “grateful for the collaboration”. He’s a Grammy winning audio engineer and bass player.

This is exciting. Recordings completed spontaneously/improvised in a single sitting are usually the best. She must be really inspired.

You're always going to find at least 3 great songs on every Lana album, which not many artists can guarantee you, especially this far into their career. You may not like an album like Chemtrails, but you surely like the title track, White Dress and Tulsa Jesus Freak?!

I choose to remain delusional. They hyped eachother up at the billboard women in music awards (even tho during QFTC SZA shaded Lana) so I have hope for a collab. It would decimate. imagine SZA and Kali Uchis on the next Lana album? I would literally evaporate

As I said in the other thread, her energy while in AL has been palpable. Love the spontaneity of this recording session. Super excited and finally feel like real pre release has begun for me. I love the more laid back jam session vibe and feel of this little visit to Shoals. Def think we got something special cooking here. Plus we already know she has been working on alt material even before. I know everybody is saying next year but ftw Lana, drop a new album by year end and blow us all away. Realistic though I'd say spring or summer of next year! I can still work with that.

They also think rehiring Rick Nowels or some old producer will bring ''old Lana'' back, but it won't.
