38 likesAlso, it’s astounding to think that if you told me, 1 year ago, Lana was going to announce an album with 16 brand new songs, an incredibly cohesive and alluring artwork supporting it and a roster of disparaging features ranging from Tommy Genesis to Jon Batiste, I would have probably laughed. I adore Chemtrails and really respect/like Blue Banisters but this rollout is indicative there’s something lying beneath the surface this time around. For Lana to be displaying such secrecy and restraint around this project while announcing a project so devoid of histrionics that also manages to appear to be a very beast of their own, like an era with a purpose… wow. As much as I like and/or love her last two eras, the differences between those and this one are very noticeable. I feel there’s something truly great coming.

31 likesI listened to the song while walking around in the forest , there was snow, the trees were frozen , the sky looked gorgeous. The strings in the intro and the deep breath worked so good with the icy landscape it was so meditative Ocean Blvd was such a beautiful soundtrack for that walk, it was amazing highly recommend to do this I put two photos of the landscape in the spoiler

28 likesIt's extremely stable, actually! It did 1,605,100 streams on a Friday (there's always a drop in weekends) without MV/airplay/social media promo and with the release of all the new SZA songs. Yesterday I said that it'll be a sign of strength and stability if she manages to get more than 1,500,000 streams. (filtered streams on Spotify) Let Me Love You Like A Woman Day 1: 1,654,620 (full day) Day 2: 859,885 Day 3: 598,289 Chemtrails Over The Country Club Day 1: 668,820 (partial) Day 2: 1,693,873 Day 3: 1,202,610 Arcadia Day 1: 427,088 (partial) Day 2: 866,277 Day 3: 835,218 Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd Day 1: 1,355,631 (partial) Day 2: 2,008,742 Day 3: 1,605,100

26 likesBOZ said that The Grants should have been the album title, as well as the track that should be featured in the album trailer (that will never be made lol) . So I highly doubt that this is going to be a "simple" piano ballad about her family like Sweet Carolina (which is a song that I absolutely adore by the way). I also agree with those of you who said that she'll probably talk about her ancestors. Anyway, she never disappoints with opening tracks.

24 likesUnder tommy’s instagram post jack Antonoff commented “it’s so sick” and tommy replied “im obsessed!” Do you think they’re referring to the whole album or just her track ? After boz’s comment I’m still confused. Maybe its a track that lana wrote and tommy raps 99% of it while lana does backing vocals. Or it’s just a spoken word. Idk

24 likesI think the grants will be less about her siblings and current times and more so inspired by her father, his siblings, and her grandparents. If you recall she posted a short story / poem back in February "How we built a home" it starts with "My dad and his brothers built my grandma and grandpa's house out of giant Lincoln logs. We lived at the bottom of Cobble hill with our very own trail up to the top of the smallest mountain in the Adirondacks. It was cold in the summer so the fire was always burning and every time I drive through Monte Nido it's full of wood-fire smoke and it reminds me of their house and the Giant owls that would hoo all night long." I feel like these photos and stories influenced her and I'm honestly getting 60s/70s ethereal night time camp fire Jame's Tayloresque vibes. I can imagine her singing about this in sort of a story teller type of way.

24 likesthis is everything i can remember in this moment, i’m probably forgetting some stuff though • like you said, the album has 14 songs and 2 interludes. the pastor interlude is a recording of his sermon • the track that SYML is credited on is an interpolation of his song “I Wanted to Leave”, which is an instrumental piano piece • the album has many long songs that are very wordy • track 4, “a&w” was originally called “American Whore”. BOZ said “a&w” makes no sense as a title, and if she wanted to abbreviate it like that it should’ve been “aw&j” • the song title of the Rockefeller snippet has been hidden in plain sight all this time, but nobody has guessed correctly. he said that we already have the title for that song and to “look smarter, not harder” to find it • the album doesn’t have any outtakes on the track listing from previous albums’ sessions. all songs were recorded late 2021-early 2022 • it doesn’t sound like UV, Honeymoon, or Lust for Life, and in his opinion is a lot better than the 2021 albums by a landslide. it’s his third favorite lana album after UV and NFR • the pastor’s interlude “isn’t his thing” whatever that means and he doesn’t want to talk about it 😬 there’s more too, i’ll probably edit this message with more information as i remember other things

23 likesSay it louder! I say this very respectfully but it’s kind of tiring to keep reading comments over and over again about whether this album is going to be piano-only. I understand the reservations but it’s been discussed time and time again that this album will not convey normativity or conventionality. BOZ, a certified non-fan of BB and Chemtrails, praised this album for its variety and irreverence and has been dropping hints left and right about this album’s playing with structure and lyricism and enhanced the fact that we’re getting great production. Trust Lana, trust the process. Even if we get an album full of Bartenders (this isn’t a dig, I adore Bartender) it’ll still be far and above pretty much 98% of what’s being released these days in terms of quality and importance, for us as fans if anything. While we keep being whiny and overly demanding towards an artist who keeps churning out material like no other, we have people like Rihanna, Frank Ocean and SZA taking half decades to release music. I’m sorry if I’m coming out as being too aggressive but it’s sort of heartbreaking that we keep being so demanding of Lana when she has every reason to retreat and never release music. Let’s be more accepting.

23 likesAmerican Whore is "unlike anything lana and jack have made before", jack himself said that. so the possibility of a piano-only album is already ruled out by that statement only. on top of that, the track with the "longest title" is in the vein of MAC and it's an angsty song, so again, that's not gonna be a piano-only song. i know y'all hated Blue Banisters and are afraid that we're getting another one of those, but BB was made in FIVE MONTHS if not less, and was full of scraps. this new album was in the making for MORE THAN A YEAR, has NO SCRAPS and insiders have already said it's an album full of variety. if you still think this is going to be a record full of "piano ballads" you should start trusting lana a little bit more. and btw, y'all are basing your thought on WRITING CREDITS. mind you, West Coast and Change have THE SAME WRITING CREDITS. are they similar? writing credits DO NOT define the sound of songs

22 likesdon't be dramatic with Sweet as song title. that's track 3 u know really well what it means- it’s masterpiece. this women literally gave us on track 3 Blue Jeans, Cola, SOC, Terrence, 13 Beaches, VB, TJF and Arcadia. i don't like title really much too but often the song title i didn't liked after tracklist reveal, it turned to be great tune so don't be pessimist and stream this song 10.03.2023

19 likesThe way Ed said this album gonna change the game again & has musical surprises , BOZ describing the GPSOTSOMFWHDSF song and she moving away from typical song structures really makes me excited and so curious about the album Especially since NFR her song structures were often verse chorus verse chorus and some instrumental part somewhere in the song and some songs have a bridge. This is no drag though, I love most of them but super curious how the new songs will be structured & how it will work out Sorry y'all I had a little hype momentum again but I do think we are not prepared for this album

18 likesif yall want “relatable” music go listen to olivia rodrigo or taylor swift… lana music goes far away from being “relatable” - while I still think it can be very meaningful for the listener - and at the same time it is the way how poetry is made, it doesn’t need to satisfy anyone more than who it is writing

17 likesJust because a song isn’t relatable to YOU doesn’t mean it’s not relatable to someone else. Also @Terrence Loves Me, the song objectively has a melody. It’s got notes that are formed into musical phrases which is by definition a melody. Perhaps the melody isn’t striking some people as memorable, which is fair, but for every one person who isn’t into it it seems there is at least 2 that love it. it just blows my mind how people are creating and looking for reasons to be negative. Hate the new song all you want and I will respect that but we literally hardly know anything else and so many people wanna fill the blanks with negativity like who hurt you???

15 likesplus she’s posted so many photos of her grandmother and other family on honeymoon, like the one where she’s emulating lana turner, etc etc. i think she’s very interested in her family’s own past (on her dad’s side) and i think the song will be a beautiful and thoughtful exploration of nostalgic and karmic themes, maybe with some nods to her current family. i do think the title is a little off putting but i’m keeping an open mind <3 there are some great songs about family out there. not every song about family is sappy sweet and stupid. given how much she talks about karmic lineage i wouldn’t be surprised if there are darker moments as well
