fun fact - 3 years ago, I filmed the movie Blockers w/ John Cena, and during a downtime where they were readjusting the cameras, all of the extras & minor cast were being held in this room in a club (we were filming a prom scene so we were filming in this really nice club in Atlanta.) I had to use the restroom during this break, and for some reason still unknown to me, I left everything in the room - including my phone. & if you know me, my phone is NEVER left behind if I’m going somewhere, but I am quite weird about having phones in a restroom (gross.) So anyway, I left the room and started walking down the corridor. As I was walking, I heard someone playing “Say Something” by A Great Big World on the piano and it was absolutely beautiful, so I peeked my head into the room it was coming from. It was John Cena. All alone in this big empty room was John Cena just vibing on the piano. I stood in the room and watched him play the rest of the song, then clapped when he finished and he smiled at me before starting another song. I still really had to pee though, so I left. When I returned to the holding room I told a friend about what I had just saw and word got around, and some people went to watch him play & there were videos on Snapchat stories and such. I need to hit up some friends from the set to see if anyone still has those videos, because that was so incredible. I just wish I had brought my phone with me when I left for the restroom so I could’ve filmed a little myself, but it was also nice just to soak up that incredible moment. I feel honoured to have watched him play alone though, just me and him - it was pretty surreal tbh. & he’s very talented! Anyway, this could be a lovely music video where John is playing the piano while Lana is singing. Perhaps the acoustic version of “How to Disappear” we’ve all been waiting for.. I digress x

Now hold on.. If COCC's coming in March, December's a pretty good month to officially start off the era with a lead single. COCC title track coming this friday along with the video, yupp! Promoted by her first televised performance in 8 years!

I can already see it. Jimmy announces her name, the lights dim, a spotlight shining on the middle of the stage. She walks towards it, appearing from darkness. Her hair is done up. Lime green on her eyes, she's standing there in her target gown. It's quiet for a total of 5 seconds. An orchestra starts playing.. "Sylvia.."

This is simultaneously exciting and nerve-racking. I really wonder what she's going to sing. Also, this better be good I don't want to spend the next eight years defending a performance—the SNL war flashbacks are still here.

i'm trying to weigh up if this will be good in my head and honestly this is so 50/50 beyond just what song she's gonna sing. we have no idea if her performance is gonna be a new song or a cover we have no idea how this is gonna be mixed (live lounge teas incoming) we have no idea how she's gonna look because we've have no idea how she would dress for a TV performance in 2020 we have no idea if she's gonna deliver a good vocal performance we have no idea how the public will react, but if the performance isn't good it would just be the absolute cherry on top of all the chaotic year lana stans have had i have a feeling the performance will be underwhelming but passable. but something positive in my mind is the fact that she's actually doing this? like why is she doing this if she hates being recorded? she's not done a TV performance in years and we know she's literally asked festivals in the past not to televise her performances when they otherwise would have. i wonder why she specifically decided right now? maybe its because she can't tour and she does actually want to perform for us, maybe its to promote one of the charity things she's been doing recently...who knows, but i hope she has a trick up her sleeve and that its gonna be something really fun. also, its the first time we'll probably get to see her current full band on a small stage in a high quality recording! i'm kind of excited and i really hope ashley / alex do something fun! for some songs, they actually have some really cute performances - even if its just them lounging with magazines during MTWBT. or maybe they won't even be there and it'll be like her performance of summertime. god know even knows, there are so many variables and we never know what to expect from lana,

I'm actually very surprised she hasn't collaborated with Lily Allen yet. Lily's been very vocal about wanting to collaborate w/ Marina, even tweeting her about it on occasion. I just know they would make something killer together. I've also been a Lily stan for well over a decade now, and would ascend to the heavens hearing a collaboration w her & another one of my faves x

This is so exciting!! She hasn't really done TV performances since 2012, so I'll be looking forward to this.. I'm interested to know what she will sing like everyone else - I'm assuming either LMLYLAW, Summertime, or something unheard off of Chemtrails/AS&C Also, has this been reliably confirmed anywhere else except for this website? I haven't heard about it anywhere else yet x

I just don't really understand why would she decide to do a TV performance for the first time in 8 years just to sing a cover for a covers album she's kind of improvising due to the delay of COCC? Like... why would she promote a covers album but hasn't promoted any of her original songs in years and might not in the upcoming future? Just a question (for the culture)
