38 likesIs anyone else slightly put-off by the nature of these reviews? Like yes, it’s amazing that Chemtrails is meeting such critical acclaim, but I really dislike how all these major publications feel the need to discredit her past albums in order to make the case for this one. Good journalism doesn’t need to bash something else in order to make the argument for whatever it is that is being written about. Appreciating Lana’s growth is one thing, but dismissing past albums as “confused” seems like a cop-out.

35 likesHey all, just wanted to give you guys a little update on what will be happening with this thread! As you can see, our page count has increased significantly. I'm sure you all know that there was a little mishap with our Chemtrails Over the Country Club Pre-Release Thread a week ago, where a mod accidentally merged it with our Lana Discussion Thread. Our mod team has been hard at work manually going through the 4400 page Frankenstein Thread to move the posts back into their respective threads. Within the past week, our team has been able to separate 932 out of the 4000 pages back into the Chemtrails Thread, and those pages have now been merged back into this one. We decided it was in best interest to move what we have completed thus far into our Temporary Thread now as Chemtrails will be released later tonight, and that way users can find some of their album reaction posts that they may like to copy into our Post-Release Thread once it's created. Of course, we still have ~3500 pages more to sort through, but some is better than nothing for right now. Even after this Pre-Release Thread is locked and the Post-Release Thread is created, we will continue separating posts so that way our COTCC Pre-Release Thread will finally be able to redeem itself in all its glory, along with our Random Lana Discussion Thread. That being said, I'd like to announce to you all that the Chemtrails Over the Country Club - Post-Release Thread will be arriving to you all at MIDNIGHT EDT (about 18 hours from now.) Furthermore, as talked about in Lana's recent interview with MusicWeek, there is indication that another album is in the works, so therefore a LDR8 Pre-Pre-Release Thread will also be created at midnight EDT. Additionally, the remaining COTCC lyric threads will also be created at midnight EDT. So please enjoy your final hours of the COTCC Pre-Release, and I look forward to beginning the Post-Release Era with you all later tonight! Sending all my love! xx

31 likesAm I the only one thinking that the picture Chuck just posted with Lana, Zella Day, Weyes Blood, Charlie, Nikki Lane, Chuck and a few other people I don't know should have been the album cover? Like it really is close to the album cover that we got but like... WAY BETTER Edit: did she perhaps choose this as the album cover but scrapped it because everyone's Caucasian (or so it seems)?

31 likesIt will be interesting to see which direction Lana goes for her next album. I can imagine Lana's frustration and irritation after hearing her previous albums described as nothing but "costumes". That must fucking hurt, and we know how sensitive Lana is. Although she is probably extremely proud of the positive reviews for NFR and COCC, i expect she is quietly hating them for it too. She even made a slight dig at Norman by saying "I knew they'd love it, because there's nothing to dislike" or something like that, labeling it as just "cool". It feels like she is basically calling it plain and admitting that she was holding back. Now that she has the critics by the balls, it would be iconic for her to make her next album a lot more edgy, daring and controversial again, the way she was before Lust for Life. I wonder if she is curious to witness the outcome if she went back down the Born to Die, AKA, UV route again. I can imagine she must be. Would the critics and general public take her seriously once and for all, in her truest form, making the art that she loves? Or will they go back to calling her names again? I hope she goes back to being a little more crazy and spontaneous after this record. Her first three albums were so vastly different. Born to Die was totally original, then she confused everyone by suddenly turning to a grungier rock album, and then we got this 1940s, lynchy, jazzy record. It was all so iconic. For me it's BTD/UV/HM (stories of her past) - and then the second half of her story is LFL/NFR/COCC (stories of her future/who she wants to become) So i hope she enters a full new phase now with something totally and completely fresh

22 likesI know, right? As she should be! I would be too! imagine being in the game for 10+ years, putting your life and love out there more vulnerably than what is considered socially acceptable in the music industry, being ridiculed for it for 7 years, and then finally be respected for your work only to later have it discredited as a mere “costume”. I feel like reviewers say tactless s*** like this all the time in efforts to sound intelligent or to have what they would consider a “thought-provoking opinion” when in reality it reads as pretentious and rude. ;(
