14 likesthe thing is I can easily tell now which songs are produced by jack bc he has started overusing a signature sound. Old money, wfwf, are mostly piano (yes which lana wanted) but I can tell its not jack, his piano sounds much hollower and his instruments have this weird distant twang to them that's now become his signature, with the new St Vincent, Lorde, Bleachers and T.S. stuff I can easily identify its Jack's production. The producers Lana are with now are much more versatile and their stuff sounds solid even if they are going to just use piano, because they're not attached to an uninspired sparse jingly folk vibe. Jack on the other hand is constantly recycling melodies and riffs. Ultimately its his (and Laura Sisk's) procedure for which instrument/microphone to use, audio choices, the arrangements, etc. Lana obviously just gives ideas of what she's feeling. Jack has a very recognizable style that's just been getting worse lately no matter who he works with. cmon all these artists cant be asking for this SAME sound

13 likesCollab. Now
-
13 likesI’m not sure about that ? I might be wrong, but I believe she met Dan at a party, got to talk to him about her album and they decided he would produce. It’s Paul Epworth (Adele’s main producer at the time) Interscope insisted she met, to give UV a more “single-y” song and he decided the album was already good and didn’t need one (although he helped with Black Beauty).

13 likesIt's fascinating how you found a way to complain about people being overly dramatic, negative and toxic in an extremely dramatic, toxic and negative way. You should try Instragram-fandom

They are still very much together and madly in love going by both of their IG's. She's even in his new music video. Lana's brother and father likes a lot of their photos together. It's sweet. -
11 likesThe collab already exists, which makes it more frustrating. It was meant for his record, in 2017, but it ended being shelved. There’s a small snippet : https://youtube.com/shorts/76Ho8CkFPLQ?feature=share if only one of them could release the damn thing.

Pitchfork sort of shaded her and Jack in the review of the new single lol: "But her swings at profundity fall short—she is stoned, after all—and the understated production feels eerily reminiscent of another Jack Antonoff joint, Lana Del Rey’s Chemtrails Over the Country Club." -
10 likesso true, it actually devalues nfr now when it used to be quite an organic sound, now it'll lose it's ability to stand the test of time because jack just couldn't let go of his shitty horns

9 likesOmg if she went blonde again, I’m gonna die. I’ve always been sour that her blonde Chemtrails aesthetic (from that specific hairstyle she’d always use to the Neil Krug photoshoot) was so profoundly under explored and under appreciated.

It's not a matter of what song was conceived first, it's a matter of these singers letting Jack come up with uninspiring productions on their records, it's clear Lorde didn't copy Lana and vice versa. -

9 likesFor some reason, Wildflower Wildfire seems like some broadway-song to me. I can really picture her melodramatically standing in a limelight on a huge darkened stage, one hand laying on top of the grand piano accompanying her, yelling "here's the deal" at the audience while these heavy first chords of the song resound in the back ...
