I hear you, but we also REALLY need to stop whining imo. She's dropped an album last year, she's put out Tough in July, she's given us many wonderful public appearances and done multiple large-scale gigs. She looks great and has really toned up. Happily married too. Girl's been super busy, and we know she's cooking up new music and really thinking about the outcome, as opposed to winging it (looking at you, Dula Peep and your last "album). I get that it's frustrating. But it's not like she's Adele who goes into hiding in her batcave for 5 years. Imagine being a Rihanna fan. Last album: 2016.

I have a feeling the ‘misquote’ was about her not recognizing herself in the Americana sounding songs, not her going Southern Gotchic. Obviously that isn’t a misquote since she’s said it multiple times and has the ‘Southern Gotchic’ instagram highlight. She’s said before that her older songs all have an Americana twist so it doesn’t make much sense for her to say she doesn’t recognize herself in those songs.
