just wanna preface this by saying: absolutely no shade towards you here, just sharing my 2 cents on this subject i kinda hate the notion that kids slow artists down bc of how that almost exclusively applies to female artists; i mean, it never crossed anyone's mind that, idk, hemingway's or, like, mick jagger's careers would be slowed down due to having kids. i'm aware that that does sometimes happen when it comes to women -- some reevaluate their choices & start paying more attention to family than career, others are unable/unwilling to travel as much as before, etc. -- but i also think a big part of it is how motherhood changes our (public AND critics) perception of said women, and how themes associated with their new, more stereotypically "feminine", "softer" lives aren't deemed as interesting or worthy of being explored in art, and that really speaks to how patriarchally-driven all forms of art still are. lana has dealt with this issue all her career -- after all there's a reason why most of her fans are women and/or not straight -- but she managed to carve a niche for herself with a sort of bad/sad girl persona. a much more relevant "question for the culture" would have been why women are so limited re: what they can sing about once they reach a certain age without alienating 90% of their audience OR turning to MOR ~adult contemporary~ adèle-like music in order to keep selling. it's clear that she's struggling with something like this already (a lot of people complain that her music's too slow & contemplative now, with nearly no "bops", & even her die-hard fans complain that she doesn't pay as much attention to aesthetics/looks, don't like her more family&friends-oriented lifestyle, her move to the midwest (cop mistake notwithstanding), etc.) so it's something that must be on her mind to some extent. imo lana's "muse" has always been her personal life (both the real one & the one that goes on inside her head) and idk that she can just put it aside if she does eventually get married / have kids, so it'll be interesting to see how she'll reinvent herself then. sorry for the tl;dr lol

Exactly, I don't even think sings of aging are ugly? No idea who made that up but I look at Audrey Hepburn in her 60s and don't find her unattractive at all and she really did have wrinkles. (I also don't mind botox etc as long as it's done in moderation. I truly don't get that pillow face trend.)

CFN is so intellectually stimulating and soulful. it’s not dua’s fault that your primordial brain is unable to process anything beyond plink plonk sounds as good music. maybe one day you will be able to evolve beyond an amoeba and appreciate CFN

I absolutely love her without botox. Aging signs make her look wiser imo. Gorgeous regardless!

Ok since you guys asked, here’s the Cry Baby outtake titles list hope this helps These songs range from 2013 to 2015. This list is 27 titles, if you add it to the 16 released album tracks then you get 43 songs. It’s wild tbh because there’s also more songs intended for the album which are unknown titles. Also - the leaked song Unhappy Meal is possibly a Cry Baby outtake, but we know basically nothing about that song so it’s unconfirmed. Sure, what are your questions about those songs?

Couldnt agree more. I usually find older woman more attractive precisely because of the sense of wisdom and maturity that the aging signs give them. This picture of Audrey is a perfect example of that: she absolutely slays on beauty, and wrinkles are a part of it. I would truly love to see Lana accepting that aging is just a natural process to go through and explore the new forms of beauty it brings. The botox and surgery she keeps doing dont make her look younger, either, but the opposite.

It's not my favourite song of hers ever, but it's a good song. Lyrically it's not very deep but the words have impact because of how she sings them. Stop being tasteless and get on board.

There’s still many outtakes from the album left to leak. She recorded over 40 songs for it actually.

she tweeted this and blacked out her profile pic + header she also archived her whole instagram except for her newest post today and someone said "what does the emoji mean" and she said "??--->? its simple math" so maybe that's a hint of what's coming before the end of the month

Thanks everyone for replying to me. I'm in Florida and as of today they haven't arrived. At least I know that tracking wasn't provided to anyone and some have received their orders

I love this song more and more after each listen, she did it... I can't wait to listen to it in the context of the album!

It's grown on me so much! Found myself playing it a few times on my way to work today. I adore the bridge. While the song isn't impactful in the same ways Shades, Heroin, Honeymoon, GKIT, Ultraviolence, etc. are, I try to not compare and take it for what it is. Viewed on it's own, it's a beautiful song. Simple, but it's not supposed to be anything else. With the abrupt ending, I reallllly hope it's the opening track. Would be a gorgeous way to send us into whatever Chemtrails turns out to be

so many songs wow, also i’m really curious about a lot of those songs which we only have titles of such as rocking horse, cooties etc

I’m in Canada and I just received mine yesterday! I was also concerned about the fact that no tracking was provided, especially since past orders from her store did provide tracking. Normally that was because Canada Post was delivering it from the UK, but this time they didn’t. I don’t know where you’re based in, but I’m thinking maybe because of COVID there are certain restrictions on some companies when it comes to handling international shipments?

not american so i could v much get this wrong! honky tonk i believe is a style of kinda ragtime music, but its my understanding that the term has a strong association with hillbillies, and i think the term "honkytonk" might also refer to a rough bar filled with rednecks and country folk, as in "lets get down to the honkytonk tonight" or whatever. "honky" of course also means white person, but i think honky and honky tonk might have different connotations - again not 100% sure

Those drags towards them are literally the most stale “drags” ever if your first comeback for someone not liking an album is “oh you stan (artist who has nothing to do with this conversation)” then that says enough about you I can’t believe we got the news of her new single and this entire page is pretty much a bunch of gays bitching about a remix album and acting superior to others for enjoying it

and what does melanie have to do with this? i wasn’t - talking about taste - or my thoughts on cfn, i’m just telling you: it’s not that serious. you’re making it out to be some intellectual project but it’s really not, you sound extremely pretentious. if you think it’s good then you’re allowed to think that but you don’t have to be annoying about it

this is the nancy drewing these forums needed honestly i think you might actually be on to something, she seems a lot more calculated this album run compared to the she is coming concept idea thingy. so i think you're right in a sense. now can she wear victoria secret or something to subtly confirm her best song is still coming out

Has Miley ever left easter eggs before, throughout an album campaign? I wonder if she's dropping clues in these last few performances... Backyard Sessions: she had vinyl/plastic hearts hanging from her tree, could be referencing the song "Plastic Hearts" deleted Instagram post: a photo of Miley in the background with the text "WTF Do I...", referencing the song "WTF Do I Know?" Save Our Stages: she wore a top that said "angel" could be a clue about "Angels Like You"

Every time I listen to the song, I can already imagine a sea of people holding lighters up, especially during the bridge and final chorus. It’s one of those songs. It’s sentimental and soft but has a big arena chorus and it just inspires so much passion. Maybe that’s what makes it feel like it’s from 1981. I really hope she sings it live someday because it’s a song that’s begging to be sung altogether.
