Anybody who wants Lana to do Elton music will find themselves permanently locked out of the forum.

Isn't it possible that as a musician Elton John is just passionate about music and so he tries to keep up and not be one of those annoying people who screams that "today's music sucks and quality music was made in previous decades"? Like I don't know the guy but it's good that he is open to discovering new stuff instead of being closed off and remaining in his bubble as most people do.

Wow it’s so weird how people’s tastes can differ. I found WW to be the most powerful song of the three, especially in regards to lyrics. I was floored when I first heard it. to me, it’s anything BUT boring!

Important stuff said during the Q&A -Album was originally titled Pandora’s Box -First recorded song was Man’s World and last was Goodbye -Her favorite song is Venus Fly Trap -Hardest song to write was New America -She said the album cover wasn’t inspired by Natalia Oreiro; the bangs of her wig were uneven, so she decided to cut them to a triangular shape and liked the result -She also stated she would never perform Girls live again, since it makes her cringe

For all of you were who were praising the hell out of the 3 singles when they were released while I was expressing my disappointment, I'm here to admit that I was wrong. I've been finally starting to really get into the singles lately, and Sher the Truth's analysis of the lyrics finally make me understand what y'all have been screaming about her songwriting growth

We had music that was inspired by the 50‘s, 60‘s and 70‘s… so now it‘s time for the 80‘s

Yeah, that’s just the ageism showing its ugly head on here again. If they want to retire, they sure can. But if they’re passionate about their craft, why tf should they stop. Johnny Cash released right before his death a cover of NIN’s Hurt. I guess he put himself through that ordeal with all his heath issues to stay relevant huh

I would be here for a retro/awkward family picture styled cover with a faded background like this: Except the faded background is a still image of Chunk’s home birth with the baby held up like Simba over the rock

I stg Neil cares more about Lana's work than she does at this point

I really hope she puts Pink Convertible and Happy Loner out before someone leak them. With what she said about her leaks, I no longer expect INHA to be released officially and that's so sad to me

alternatively, something like this, with niko & topanga

Me too! Some comments in the comment section are very clever: there is one suggesting that she refers to America when she mentions her dad in Textbook. Also the banisters being painted blue then green and grey as a metaphor for bruises. Whether correct or not, these interpretations are very interesting. These songs have grown on me a lot, they are very strong lyrically and her vocals shine over all.

Exactly. It's good that he acknowledges these new artists, it is a tough industry to break into so it must feel nice when someone who has made it praises you & lets you know you are appreciated in professional circles as well.

i don't know why people are being so harsh about elton john, i personally don't know his music and i only brought up the idea of a collab as a joke, but i actually think it's cool that he praises new artists, it shows that he values today's art and i'm sure anybody would be flattered if a music icon like elton john was a fan of them, but yeah, the ageism is not cute

After the 3 emotional singles I'm praying for some bops (I know we are not getting another OTTR anytime soon but I know Lana still loves her little beachy bops like FIILY). I loved the 3 songs and even if I've already overplayed them a bit I know I won't skip them when listening to the album but I need something more lighthearted in there too. If she has a lot of word heavy songs on BB she has to be smart with the tracklisting cause even though I really really like the singles it took me some time and the first listen to an album is also important (even if the full potential obviously comes after some replays).

I was just listening to WW today and thinking how it's the best from the batch to me. I love the melody and how it builds up, and the lyrics are so powerful too. It's also the one that I genuinely resonate the most with, as I can kind of relate to the whole metaphor of the wildfire associated to strong and almost destructive feelings (or at least that's how I interpret it) Anyways, pre-order coming in 2 seconds

why can't somebody in their 70s enjoy music from a different generation? i think the idea that older people can't enjoy something that's "modern" & "new" is limiting, he works in the music industry so it shouldn't be a surprise that he knows more about today's music despite his age, i think he complimented "heather" by conan gray since it was written by the artist, i don't think it's disingenuous, and even if he was praising modern artists for attention, it's better than him dragging modern artists for attention

A random brazilian twitter stan account in a few minutes: ??? According to an insider BB will be heavily influenced by the music of the 80‘s and have a Elton John feature and cover a song from Whitney Houston ???

imagine the honeymoon album in dolby atmos, the synths, the background vocals, the luscious atmosphere... i don't think we'd recover from that

I think it's common to see senior, established members of any industry feel a responsibility to support (and even mentor) the younger ones, especially the ones who are so young but already making brilliant moves. He might not be a *stan* but that doesn't make him disingenuous; he hasn't done anything to make me think his heart isn't in the right place.

having her dad on the cover of the album when it has the lyric "my father never stepped in when his wife would rage at me" would be... very chaotic

What did she do with all the songs she made with Jack...she said she had made alot of 80s sounding bombastic stuff like girl group stuff... Will they see the light Of day

While driving tonight, a song came on and I was like damn, who dis, before realizing it's Lana, one of her new songs . I barely listened to them (as I didn't exp love at first listen) so I couldn't remember them. And well, WOW it took me on a journey. I realize now that for these specific songs, you have to be in the right kind of mood tbh. It really felt serene and hauntingly beautiful, and as normally/naturally I'm not a calm person, it's harder for me to get into that kinda zone. Sounds crazy but in the future I see myself really falling for these songs, as I calm down in life as life goes on

Bruce Springsteen loves Lana and has called her the songwriter of the generation. So that would make his statement disingenuous because of the age difference? Maybe touch some grass to lose some of that closed-mindedness

I'd love Lana to come on the forum to tell her that she's doing amazing and is the greatest artist of all time for a lot of people and that I'm so happy she's found a way to balance creating beautiful art and also creating a life for herself that she actually wants to live without some of the unsustainable pressures that come from fame and expectations in the music industry.

The funny thing about apple music doing this is that Bluetooth doesnt support lossless and there isnt a headphone jack anymore, so it was almost pointless. Most of those who have done away with headphones and moved onto air pods, as they were alluded to being obsolete, will not even be able to utilize this feature.

The show was amazing!! She sounded incredible, and the visuals were gorgeous. The afterparty was also so fun - as a writer myself, it was super insightful to see a little bit of her writing process through her demos. I'm now even more excited for her tour next spring, but the wait until February will be grueling!! x

So... Rob posted: "In a rare moment of fashion negligence...I was asked to wear a plain blue shirt. I had an out of body experience which lasted about an hour. I know that somewhere out there...a Hawaiian shirt is crying" What if Lana is shooting BB cover and Rob is in it? I could totally see a cover similar to COCC, but with everyone wearing blue

it’s a stupid ass decision (as always with apple) but at least it still works on the phone speakers (which kinda does make the whole lossless thing even more redundant as you say). we therefor come to the conclusion that dolby atmos is the only useful feature out of the 2 since it separates all the instruments and layers of a song. aka perfect for lanzi’s (used to be ) layer rich songs. so i’m asking again: WHO DO WE NEED TO HARASS TO HAVE LANA’S ALBUMS IN DOLBY??

Is it? Or do they want you to think that?

Completely agree w this. WW's lyrics, compared to the other two, were so jarring and unsettling to me (probably because I could relate lol ) and for Lana to be so vulnerable and generous enough to share with people that she struggles or did struggle with emotion regulation was huge. I guess it almost doesn't matter to me what the production then sounds like if the songwriting is as brutally honest as in WW (though I think it actually all works brilliantly together: the lyrics paint a story of learning how to navigate emotional extremes and the production mirrors it - and i see the production towards the end as obviously chaotic and "on fire" but, probably through the steady drum pattern, it still feels like there is an attempt to keep it balanced and controlled)
