23 likesI will tolerate ZERO Cherry Blossom lies, slander, libel, bashing. It is a beautiful godly tune with perfect instrumentation and angelic singing. Its healing power has saved my life 12 times over. It Is on BB and it is the highlight of the album. If you can’t understand that go stream Boom Like That and twerk ur ass till ur brains fall out

21 likesHow she comes up with the melodies is what gets me--I have a few talents but songwriting is not one of them. She's so prolific, it's amazing. She's progressing to the point of other great songwriters and artists from the past with huge catalogs, from Sam Cooke, the Stones, Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Bowie, Bruce Springsteen, Led Zeppelin and Bob Dylan to Prince, R.E.M. and Tori Amos. And some artists are famous for one or two good or great songs only. Meanwhile, LDR is producing everything from 'Summertime Sadness,' 'Video Games' and 'Ride' to 'Black Beauty,' 'Old Money,' 'Terrence Loves You,' '13 Beaches,' 'Heroin,' 'Venice Bitch,' 'The Greatest,' 'Yosemite' and 'Windflower Wildfire' in less than 10 years, and of course, another 20 or more great songs, not counting unreleased material like 'Angels Forever.' Springsteen is right to call her a great songwriter. And that's high praise from an Establishment figure and Rock legend.

20 likesI'm not worried about anything else than Lana ruining Thunder like she did to one of her best unreleased songs, The Next Best American Record. TNBAR could've been top 10 in her discography and she changed the whole concept to a fucking party flop song. It was minimised to a filler, I just can't stand the trauma of the same treatment with Thunder

18 likesthis album is shaping up to be a honeymoon 2.0 in the sense that all of the ballads are sonically and lyrically gorgeous. i hope she has a few more really strong ballads (including the ones we heard) along with some slow bops (a la freak and art deco). i really hope she goes that direction, honeymoon is my fave lana album.

16 likesI imagine that she would have wanted to re-record Cherry Blossom. It was produced in 2013 with Fabrizio Argiolas, and I don’t know if the recording that leaked would necessarily be cleared for official release, since the credits surrounding it seem to be so up-in-the-air with Fabrizio’s status as producer. I also think she would want a more recent recording - rather than one from over 8 years ago - for consistency reasons. I can’t wait to hear how it sounds on the record!

15 likesI don't get why people hate Blue Banisters as an album title and think it's boring. It's random and strange and once you realize what they represent it's even better. Only Lana could make banisters so profound. That being said, I also love Good God and Rock Candy Sweet as album titles even though I don't understand what Rock Candy Sweet means LOL

15 likesNawr, it's chrew, it's chrew! Those songs are songs that we're never meant to hear, so it's hypocritical for us to complain now Hell, for all we know, all the songs from the new album could have been old songs she decided to use now, but we didn't know cause the demos never leaked before, so, like... ¿¿¿???

15 likesthis album's lyricism so far... fuck

15 likesYeah French Restaurant is a great example of a piano song done RIGHT. There's a lot of elements in there. The verses are soft and sweet, then the big wave of emotion comes in during the chorus that keeps you clinging onto Lana's every last word. I hope we get more songs like that on BB, and I will admit that the new snippet gives me hope that these piano songs are going to have a more exciting edge to them. I can't say the same for BB or WW...they belong to COCC imo. Text Book is alright. Other piano songs which are great: You Must Love Me Old Money RBFY Riverside Fine China

15 likesIt’s not only about singing high, it’s also about the power and the tone of her voice. You’re right, her voice is stronger than ever. Her technique has improved drastically over the past few years. The shift in her voice started during the LA to the moon tour. Idk if she took singing lessons but she had more control over her voice, and her technique was already better. That’s also when she started projecting her belts with more power and clarity, and less tension. The quality of her voice was also improving, I know everyone has different tastes but objectively speaking, her voice is richer, fuller and jazzier now, and Lana’s playing with different textures with way more ease than before. Since NFR came out, she’s been singing mostly in her middle and high range, but she still has some incredibly good low moments. She just doesn’t force herself to sing too low anymore like she was doing on BTD. In conclusion, her voice has aged like fine wine, she can still sing low while maintaining a gorgeous tone but she doesn’t force herself into that register, and she takes advantage of her improved technique to sing high notes and belt more. The only thing that seems harder for her now is to sing with a breathy and quiet voice, but that’s one of the downsides of gaining power and being able to belt fuller notes. The fuller and more powerful your voice is, the harder it is to sing with a breathy tone (unless you’re Mariah Carey and you can maintain a more or less good balance between the two). It’s not good for the voice to use too much falsetto and sing breathy anyway, because it’s a disconnected register.
