I’m hopping on the Delulu train and say the rollout is about to start! single mid August/September album mid October/November

Single out 1st week of August. Album out 2nd week/3rd week of september after grammy deadlines. Chem will be submitted for AOTY/pop vocal/(pls folk) WD for SOTY. Her label is aiming to get her to delay so that she doesnt have to compete with Halsey Lorde Billie Evermore. And then with the poetry audiobook out in the later half the year... had a Blue Banisters dream last night in the dream, Lana announced the album on Instagram (again lmao), and it was entirely produced by Mike Dean. The album was like Dark But Just A Game mixed with Weyes Blood’s Titanic Rising she didn’t give us a date for the release but it was still a nice dream even if it’s not realistic in the slightest

Lana did detach herself from the sadgirl suicide persona with NFR, agreed 100%. Its influence on popculture or anything else -- not at all. This album would've made no difference to the world, trust me. Comparing it to a cultural phenomenon that Born to Die was is a joke. And the fact that Jack is recycling the same material over and over says nothing about Lana really, he did the same with Melodrama and 'New York' by St. Vincent before working with her. This just happens with producers who get to work with so many different artists. We could also say that Rick Nowels had a similar impact on Lana Del Rey, Marina, Lykke Li and Madonna, but just because Madonna was the first with Ray of Light to work with him doesn't make Madonna's Ray of Light responsible for Lust for Life or Electra Heart. Nowels, however, never made sound repetitive. Antonoff though... I didn't like NFR to begin with, but now what was unique of that project is becoming generic in the music industry and for me makes it lose its value. This is not good at all. Hope the Pitchfork says something about it. Anyway enjoy this kinda exaggerated meme I made today.

i think she's still making the album imo, she scrapped half of it and i don't see her just adding unreleased music, even though we already have 2 unreleased songs on the album and the good part is if she's currently making new music, that would explain her guitarrist being on studio, so we can expect our little eletric guitar thunder text book album

I mean we did get fed this year with a whole album and 3 new songs. I just wish she was more clear about her releases

She should just stop mentioning anything about new music until she has a concrete date. And for the umpteenth time, what does “properly record and release” even mean.

Somehow these singles are really reaffirming why NFR is so legendary. Not even in terms of direct influence on lorde, just in hearing elements of its sound elsewhere makes me appreciate how well Lana did it two years ago lol. NFR is like the BTD of the late 2010s/early 2020s, a brilliantly crafted seminal precursor/inspiration to a new string of alt-pop albums that adopt that sound, heralding a new paradigm in the genre etc. I feel like we're definitely in the midst of this very particular chill/folky/surfy sparse sunshine scene of alt-pop music right now that people are gonna look back on in like five years and reminisce over the same way people look back to 2011-2014 and reminisce over albums like BTD, pure heroine, electra heart, etc I think california is the best song of solar power so far anyhow

I've been thinking about the BB album cover announcement and I still find it weird that she wrote TBD instead of TBA. Maybe the title and cover are not final (at least she could just change the title and the photo won't be altered). Imagine if the "later later" was because she didn't even finish it and has no idea about the release date and the single is another promo/random single like the 3 May ones... But I've always been a delulu and that won't change now so I'll take Ben's words as a confirmation that it's coming before the year ends

Yes. I can see the single coming in August with the preorder and the album in late September-October or even November. Lana used to announce preorders close to the album but the Chemtrails one was 2 months in advance so anything could happen now. The only thing that's weird is the only proper single being a ballad with a homemade video . We always get a big MV before the album.

Chemtrails was a bit of a mixed bag though..she is usually consistent with having a video drop and then the album not long after. (WC to UV, HBTB to HM, (Lust for Life and COTCC both had a longer wait) and FIILY/TG to NFR). yeah in America target has a new dark red vinyl!
