Hi all, Just popping in to say I've officially knocked this thread back to a Pre-Pre-Release Thread, which means when we have more concrete information such as a certain release date, I will lock this thread and create a new Pre-Release Thread. This is what we typically do for releases as you all may recall, but because she announced this album so quickly with seemingly a title and date, we went straight to Pre-Release. Since it appears there's still going to be some time until more concrete information comes out, this will now serve as the Pre-Pre-Release Thread for the upcoming album's discussion. Thanks guys! In my mind Blue Banisters is actually a double album (well more like 1 and a half) with 14 standard tracks + 8 of the original songs intended for it/RCS. BOZ was confused cause she was actually working on both projects at once and that's why everything was changing all the time, she was still rearranging the tracklistS. I love it here

manifesting lana giving us some wild n sexy BB musssiiiccccc that helps me romanticise my life so i can get thru it i'm talking music w big emotional swells n surges, i'm talking gut-wrenching vocals like white dress, noir, blue baby love, i'm talking bridges/outros that explode w everything she meant in the previous verses, like pretty when you cry and on that note, thunder needs a bridge that absolutely raaageeeeeessssss - like imagine if suddenly the surprise is that she's talking to herself throughout, and she just goes off

i made this mistake in cocc prerelease and it got to the point i would wake up at 4am to watch lmlylaw performance and jacks twitch streams sometimes i go back to page 5-10 when we thought its gonna be pop hiphop rock revenge masterpiece this bitch

Not that long ago she wrote, produced and then unfortunately cut ‘Serene Queen,’ which certainly had a groovy, high tech/techo, studio-manipulated sound. She might return to a broadly similar sound at any time, at least for a few cuts. I admit that, though I loved almost all of COCC, after most of NFR! and the three recent singles, I’m personally pretty tired of the slower, piano-ballady tracks.

That‘s what I meant some days ago. This kind of negativity is just pointless and boring. And yet some people prefer to complain about gif wars or hype posts.

i understand what you mean and when i listen to previous albums i miss those kinds of songs too, the angry, hopeless ultraviolence, dreamy cinematic honeymoon. but i think what she's doing now isn't for critics or certain parts of audience, it really reflects how lana herself evolves. maybe it sounds naive but i see her as an almost independent singer songwriter expressing herself and her own experience through music, not a usual pop singer following trends. i miss those eras, moods and sounds, her unreleased from 2010-2013 are amazing. but they just don't suit her anymore. we change, she changes too and it doesn't always go along. but i personally just accepted it and watch what road she takes next, and i'm almost sure it won't be just piano ballads forever

re: the "piano ballads". if u don't like lana's "ballads" u probably have fundamentally misunderstood her. she started her career w "ballads" and yes! i'd rather have multiple versions with multiple story lines (hence why i'm totally okay w reworked stuff like tnbar)

Phoenix is a beautiful name and I don’t see what isn’t “girly” enough about it. Are mythical birds considered unfeminine now or something? Ironic since both magic and birds often get associated with femininity more often than masculinity anyway. Also, once a child is born and named, it’s just plain mean and bullying to criticize their name. It’s insulting to both the child and the parents. Grow up. Honestly I even find it rude enough to criticize name choices before a baby is born, but once they’re born, you’re insulting a living person. If it’s not your kid, you get zero opinion on their name. I kinda wish Chuck didn’t share the name because people always have the worst things to say about everything. I just hope Chuck doesn’t have to see any of these ridiculous criticisms.
