11 likesI'm almost sure the album is done and Lana is just having a little vacation. I hope the vinyls are being pressed as we speak. If the album was done in june/july (with mixing and mastering included) we can get the album in October-November. Ben sounded confident when he said we're getting a second album this year and I trust him (at least more than Lana)

10 likesActually I think the outro is the best part of the song, the part where she sings that there’s a baby on the way honestly makes me cry sometimes Maybe it’s just a really personal feeling because I got dumped a few months ago and one of my close relatives is gonna have a baby soon, so I connect with the song on a very deep level lol

9 likesI think Lana's approach with the 3 singles had a double (or triple) intention: 1. Putting something out cause she knew the album wasn't coming anytime soon. 2. Letting us digest the songs. I love them now but at first listen they felt very heavy and didn't really click with me sonically that much even though I loved the lyrics. 3. Maybe she wanted those songs to have their own spotlight and time because of the very personal and vulnerable lyrics. Kinda like what she did with Hope.

9 likesI was in a Julie Andrews mood last night and decided to listen to 'My Favourite Things', and I was thinking that Lana could cover this so perfectly, but change up the lyrics so Lana sings about her favourite things: I think a song like that could easily fit on BB, especially if Cherry Blossom is on there. In a way, it's like Lana is becoming more maternal in her lyricism. Like for instance, Cherry Blossom is said to be a lullaby to her future child, and that 'Angelina' is the hypothetical name for her daughter sorry Clementine.... and of course in the Sound of Music, Julie Andrews' character looks after the children and she sings them this song while the children gather around her in bed

Songs about Lana Del Rey
WhiteHydrangea and 8 others liked a post in a topic by Elle
Good topic idea! I'll share some I've come across. Without Love - James Arthur This song mentions Lana in its opening line: "Lana Del Rey, I just saw through a demon. That's why I got the people feeling so bohemian." I actually quite like this song. Gone But Not F. Cotton - Coldplay This song was a tribute song to Fearne Cotton upon her departure from Radio 1. In the song, they say: "Thanks for introducing us to Lana Del Rey" as Fearne first played Video Games on the station. I Ain't Missing - Doe B ft. G Eazy & Maino G Eazy mentions Lana in his verse, and this was actually 3 years before they even met and had their little thing: "When I make moves, she's a goner, whether it be Rihanna, Madonna, Lana Del Rey, or your momma." Moana - G Eazy & Jack Harlow G Eazy mentions Lana again during his part in the song, this time 3 years after their little thing: "I know a Keisha and I know Lana. They try to get me back, but I'm like, 'No, nah, nah.'" God Made Lana Del Rey - Jessica Chase I really like this song too. It's a song from a small Canadian singer. In the song, she mentions Lana in the chorus: "God made Lana Del Rey and Mr. Kanye, I love when they laugh." Lana Del Rey - Jerry James This is a weird little love/lust song towards Lana lol. "Like a video game, but I ain't playing. I'm tryna hit Lana Del Rey, is what I'm saying." Lana (Del Rey) - Buffalo Rodeo Weirdly enough, this song makes no reference to Lana at all in the lyrics, she's just in the title. But ironically, this song was pitched and passed off as a fake Lizzy Grant leak a few years ago lol. Maybe the song was just reminiscent of her style, which is why they titled it after her. I really like this song too. I Dreamed I Was Lana Del Rey's Older Brother - Walter Martin This whole song is directed towards Lana. "Lana, why do you let them always break your heart? Lana, why do you let them tear you all apart?" I like this song too. -

8 likesI love the three singles, but boy oh boy.... having them for so long really takes the momentum out of the album release. I guess NFR! was the same kinda problem. It just feels sooo... idk, confusing? Unprofessional? Idk what the word is exactly but it just kinda knocks the wind out of BB's sails a little when you feel like you're getting a type of patchwork album instead of a clear vision with strong execution. That being said, WW is my most played song of the last six months and it hasn't even been out that long! Love it

8 likesthe way Blue Banisters would have the possibilities to be top tier of her discography if she hadn't ruined the song by talking about jenny and nikki and swimming and tex and mex and chucky and chickens and baby

7 likesTotally agree with you. However, I felt different in the NFR era, because both MaC and Venice had incredible production, so I could listen to the songs on their own, whether I was in the mood of the lyrics or not. The three singles, just like Hope or Change, have so intricate yet minimal production that it’s harder for me to listen to them « casually », and I have to be really in the mood of the songs to play them on repeat (playing BB on repeat just depressed me in June). These songs could benefit from a short pre-release and not to be dragged on indefinitely. I don’t think it will be much longer for some actual news about this album, but God I wish we knew what the timeline is.

6 likesHello, I have found at random two songs about Lana Del Rey, they are both in german. The first one starts with "Du bist meine Lana Del Rey ..." ("You are my Lana Del Rey") The second one has the chorus "Du bist Lana Del Rey und ich bin Summertime Sadness" ("You're Lana Del Rey and I'm Summertime Sadness") Do you know some more in english or other languages?

6 likesThat would also explain why she is travelling so much right now But if that‘s true and also that she has scrapped most of the songs some months ago, then she was really quick recording and producing the album

6 likesThere's a song in the latest Arctic Monkeys' album called The World's First Ever Monster Truck Front Flip that has a line that goes "You and Lizzy in the summertime" but I'm not sure if it's about Lana . At 0:55. Also in Mahmood's Dorado he sings "dentro casa canto Lana" that means "at home I sing Lana". A poster of Lana in the Summer Bummer photoshoot is also featured in the video. I love him.

6 likesIn terms of suggestions on recent leaks, all in alphabetical order: Cry Baby era leaks: Arts & Crafts - It has a darker Cry Baby vibe, and is pretty catchy! Coloring Book - It's pretty much the summary of the Cry Baby era with tons of references to the album as a whole. It's also pretty uniquely structured and produced in regards to typical Melanie songs. Cooties - A cute love song, kind of in the same vein as Training Wheels being a childish take on love. Dressed in Mistakes - My personal favorite of all the recent leaks, it has an infectious melody with an instrumental that complements it very well. Jumprope - If you were a Melanie stan since 2014, then you probably know about this one as its been registered for so long. It has the same sort of darker vibe as Arts & Crafts does while still maintaining the child-like outlook. The chorus is a bit cringey but it's a good listen anyways! Rocking Horse - It's the kind of song that is heartbreaking thematically, but has an instrumental distracting enough to make it seem happy. This is another one that is going to get stuck in your head after the first listen! Seesaw - We don't have many piano ballads from Melanie which makes this song feel so much more raw. The piano really makes it stand out and paired with the writing, it's a song you don't want to miss out on hearing. Trophy Wife - I don't see many people talking about this one, but it's another one of my favorites. I guess people tend to overlook it since it doesn't entirely sound like Cry Baby (The Michael Keenan Curse) but its always stuck in my head and I find it to be a gem in Mel's unreleased. Zzzz - To me, this song and Coloring Book are the yin to each other's yang. Where one might open the Cry Baby album, the other would most definitely be the closer. It's a shame neither ended up on the final tracklist, but I'd rather have neither than only one. K-12 era leaks: Eraser - While we don't have many K-12 outtakes (even now,) this is one I know would've been an amazing addition to the final tracklist. I find it 100x better than... SOME.... songs that ended up on it. Gluestick - I will forever be in mourning of Gluestick and Eraser... this song especially has such a cinematic appeal to it, and I don't mean cinematic as in strings, but in that you could literally feel and see the scene that it would fit into to. These two songs are both relics of a hip-hop sound that Melanie decided to scrap for K-12. Papercut - I mention this one since you can't have the previous two without this one. The lyrics are a little... hastily written, but the instrumental is again very hip-hop sounding that we don't see much of anywhere else. After School era leaks: History - Just putting this here since it's the only After School leak as of yet. I don't really care for it but I know a lot of people like it! I chose songs that were more conceptualized, alongside my own personal favorites. There are a LOT more than I mentioned, so make sure to get a masterpost of the leaks when you're listening! And about MM3, with some leaks in the recent months, we can gather that this album is more reminiscent of After School tracks with new and surprising elements! I'm more than positive in a fantastic end product whenever it's out. Also yes, another film will accompany this release! A sequel to K-12.

6 likesNow that I have had time to let those three singles settle into my brain, here is my ranking. Blue Bannisters has aged beautifully. Even the opening verse which I initially did not like has grown on me. I’ve noticed more and more detail and meaning in the lyrics. This stands among Lana’s best work and is absolutely timeless. Wildflower Wildfire is a beautiful track. The chorus is a really nice climax, just full of passion. This one is not quite as emotional or beautiful as BB for me. I listen to it less now that it not that new, and the weird drums at the end still bother me, but I still love this one. Textbook is not a bad song, but beyond being catchy this one doesn’t really resonate with me on a deeper emotional level. This one I only listen to occasionally now.
