reports are now saying that the shooter was bullied in school, and i just want to put it out there that even if somebody struggled with their mental health, or were bullied, or whatever it may be, there is still no excuse for going out and killing people, i already feel like people are going to pin it all on the bullying or whatever mental health issues he might've had going on, instead of the reality that he felt the need to inflict harm on other people, it isn't about mental health, it isn't about bullying, it's about somebody wanting to be violent, and also how easy it is to acquire a gun in this country obviously, it's very sad and unfortunate if he did experience bullying and struggled growing up, but that doesn't excuse what he did, some people go through the absolute worst things imaginable and still manage to be decent people who don't harm others

I live Oklahoma and as I travel around through here and nearby states, you often see convenience type stores that do sell guns. Huge signs up on the road and in strip malls. It’s crazy to me.

Yeah, I don’t even like guns, but I don’t think they should be fully banned. At least ban high capacity automatic and possibly semi automatic weapons that are capable of killing mass numbers of people in a short period of time. Why should any everyday citizen be able to get their hands on weapons of war? I think a rational case can be made for guns for hunting and self-defense.

in a country where you could go to wal-mart and buy a gun like it's a new TV, and in a country where we've numerous instances where people have been able to enter schools and shoot children... i don't understand why people are spreading around conspiracy theories as if this could never possibly happen, i understand that it's probably shocking that it happened to somebody very well-known and highly notorious like donald trump, but i just i find it to be illogical and also quite insensitive to act like this most certainly had to be staged, considering that these things do happen, especially in the US, many people, including young children, have sadly lost their lives due to someone making the choice to go out and kill people with a gun, and that actually did happen yesterday, somebody who attended the rally got shot and killed, and another was critically injured

gen z can’t take anything seriously to save their lives and that will be their downfall. my friends are texting me “why did the shooter miss” which is so unhinged. trump is vile but it’s important to have foresight; if he died yesterday, america would be on fire today. this isn’t good news at all. what happened on jan 6 and what happened yesterday shouldn’t be occurring in a 1st world country. we are a democracy who can voice our opinions via elections and protests. all of this is a sign of instability & unrest which only spells trouble for our future. leaving the house even feels scary because it seems like anyone could pop off at any moment.

It doesn't really matter who you support and who you don't. Trying to take someone's life just because they have a different opinions is not okay. Two months ago something similar happened in my country, when a gunman shot the prime minister at close range (our p.m. is a motherfucker, but whatever), it helped them a lot in the European Parliament elections. What a world we live in.....

The US is never going to be able to get rid of guns It's embedded in the culture in a way that it just ISN'T in other countries The fact that American shows and movies, books, games etc are the overriding Western culture plays a huge part So this "but [insert European country/Australia/wherever] doesn't have a gun problem" is, imo, the wrong approach because fundamental ways of thinking need to change Guns were never embedded in the culture of Australia the way they are in the US so it was much easier for us to get rid of them We also have far fewer people But this idea that everyone has a gun so no one messes with anyone else is obviously not how it works Yes if there are fewer guns then the guns there ARE tend to belong to criminals AND people use other things to commit mass killings (knives and crossbows n shit) but guns can kill more people in a short amount of time than other weapons So idk what the solution is
