This poetry collection is absolutely unreal. I really love what Lana said in the book’s blurb about it being nothing more what it is, which to me, is just a testament to her authenticity, humility, and artistry. These poems feel so familiar but like such new groundbreaking territory for Lana. All of the poems are so amazing because they read like poetic journal entries and that’s what makes it feel intimate. Never to Heaven is still such a brilliant poem to me in that it says exactly what it needs to say and the whole idea of her struggle for a relationship in regards to her ability to think deeply and ponder the philosophies of this world is so profound. I think it’s poignant because it is hard to find someone when you are the type to think abstractly like that - you’re prone to feeling emptier because philosophy is a subject that is so fulfilling but also raises so many other questions that can lead to existential anxieties. And the fact that she says she’ll never try to know what God knows (contrast from PSB) and that she believes in herself to be of the more “normal” kind to make these relationships less suffocating for herself - is just furthering the message that as humans, the relationships we have with others are what write our story; even from a pure sociological perspective. And I think it’s beautiful that virtually Lana’s whole niche is writing about her relationships with others in regards to her self reflections. She truly is a prophet of our time and I’m grateful for her wisdom!

Hellll no - it’s just important to be aware of what your leader is spewing, regardless of whether or not you agree with them. I dont have cable, and Fox News is the only cable service that livestreams the debate on Youtube, not trying to defend her but I usually am forced to watch Fox News as well even though I disagree with their news station... but CNN nor MSNBC livestream the debates on youtube or their website, you have to have a cable log in

i honestly consider it in the same vein as kissing your friends. some families do have close enough relationships that that isn't weird or sexual to them. if you look at something like that and think its sexual that's really your own problem. kids kiss each other and its not sexual. i have literally made out with my friends platonically and i'm sure some of you have as well. i, personally, could not kiss my brother. i don't have that relationship with him. but i would also really grudge even hugging my brother, which some of you guys might find weird. if its not sexually fuelled its really just not your problem how friends and family chose to love each other. it kind of reminds me of when photos of celebrities (specifically men) are photographed or post photos of them kissing their children on the lips and they get dragged for it. i used to kiss my mum and dad on the lips when i was a kid all the time and its completely innocent. its only what you project onto it that makes it weird

gosh, Electra Heart is still such a great album. She really took the concept as far as it could go... fucking genius era tbh. Her magnum opus for me - blonde, barbie, housewife Marina was just... incredible. The aesthetic is unmatched. The album has some of her biggest career highlights too.
