[Nikki Lane] Breaking up slowly is a hard thing to do I love you only, but it's making me blue So don't send me flowers like you always do It's hard to be lonely, but it's the right thing Are these my good years, or do I have none? Are there really good years for everyone? Or did he see it coming all along? Yesterday, Lana Del Rey and Nikki Lane went shopping at Guadalupe Vintage & Co in Gruene, Texas. Later that night, the two performed together at a brewery in Austin, Texas.

Minutes ago, Lana Del Rey performed with Nikki Lane at Central Machine Works Brewery in Austin, Texas for The Second Annual Roundup event. The pair sang at least two songs - a duet of "Look Away" from Nikki's debut record which they also performed during Lana's NFR! Tour, and an unknown song possibly titled "Breaking Up Slowly" that may be an upcoming collaboration track.

I am LOVING this song so far. I think a lot of fans are going to be surprised with the sound of COCC. Everyone saying they don’t want Lana going country, when this sound isn’t really “country” it’s more folk, and Lana’s voice is literally made for folk music. This album will be BEAUTIFUL! And the country haters must be new fans who have never heard of Lizzy.

With the way Grimes used to play The Gate for her baby in the womb, we know it’s going to grow up and be the next Einstein...

I’m a Lizzy Grant stan, and her music from that time wasn’t “country” in my opinion.

I am a slut for Lanas folky and country sound, so I’m pumped for this. It’s kind of ironic that people don’t love her doing that sound considering it’s mainly the first genre she tapped into as an artist.

If Jack’s producing I doubt it’ll be full blown country

its probably similar to when lana said "jack was nice enough to let me have the melody for 'Love Song' " if I had to guess but idk

I'd love a repacking. Pang is such a good and fresh album. I get shivers only thinking about her hidden scrapped gems...

some clothes aren’t always “flattering” in the traditional sense but girl jeans are jeans it’s literally just a style of trouser with a fabric. she is wearing the most basic skinny jeans ever. it is literally the most universal piece of clothing i have ever seen in my life. the only thing that could make this more basic is a t shirt. everyone suits t-shirts. there’s no one on planet earth i’ve ever looked at and gone damn you really shouldn’t wear shirts. or hoodies. or socks. some fashion IS universal.

It took me a long time to accept country music into my heart as well, so I can understand where you're coming from. Having said that, Lana has been circling around Country since at least 2005, so it's not as though it's a new development.

I get the impression Lana has baby fever. Sorry if that's edgy or something. I just get the vibe that she wants to get married & be a mom. She commented "Love it" 2 days ago on this girl's post about getting pregnant with her friends at the same time ddddddd. This is a really unpopular opinion of mine (apologizing in advance for even sharing), but I kinda hate it when artists have kids because I feel like it slows them down - I'm really fascinated by the artist who lives & dies by their muse... But honestly, if a family's what Lana wants, I want her to have that. I find it kind of sad she seems to think it'll be impossible for her.

Digging the vibes and lyrics of *Breaking Up Slowly*. Hoping the album won't have a strong country sound. Would love it if it leans more towards a bluesy folk rock sound instead. Kinda like

Nikki seems like a nice person, haven't heard of her before. I gotta say though if there's two things I hate it's country music and collabs. Fuck me. I got both in one song now. Oh well, maybe I'm actually gonna like it and I'm determined to stay open and positive about this album because I love Lana.

As a synesthete, I think what makes PANG so special to me, is the fact that every song makes you feel comforted by a familiar feeling. In an AMA she said that was her goal with the album, making a collection of songs that could adapt to many different inner monologues and experiences. And I just think that was so freaking cool. Just remembering the day she dropped Door and how I was immediately captivated and felt like I had been a fan of this woman since I can remember. It was like she was singing FOR my soul and hers at the same time. Tbh If Caroline were to write a book full of her narratives, similar with her story times for each song on Pang, I would literally buy ten copies. She’s just a genius that I am endlessly fascinated by, period.

Am I the only one who hears “psalms and poems” not “songs and poems”? It makes me wonder if there’s gonna be heavy biblical themes across this album. But then maybe I’m just mishearing it and making predictions off of nothing. also something very 1980s heartland/arena rock about her vocals in the verses, idk how to explain it.
