I was listening to Paradise today and I came to the conclusion that I really want that sort of lyrical energy. Paradise and UV are, in my opinion, her most bold albums in terms of lyrics, so to have a comeback of that would be great Also: I'm still manifesting Dealer for this album

I don’t think RCS will (or even should) sound like that at all, but I’ve been watching Wild Wild Country on Netflix and... imagine if Lana went all ironic and made an album about being a cult leader, with 70s psychedelia, hippie instrumentals, rock guitars, folk elements Something sounding a bit like that: It would be the best fitting project ever: her embracing her crazy fan base while being super sarcastic about it, controversial lyrics à la UV, the best of what she did with Jack (Venice Bitch)

I think she was gonna get backlash regardless bc that has always been the media’s response to her (hence her ‘I want revenge’ RCS announcement) but I think name dropping the artist is what really hurt her in the long run because the girls she mentioned have HUGE, VOCAL fanbases (Barbies, Beehives, ari Twitter stans) so there was negative press and the fans used and shared that. despite her being 100% correct (she always has been talked down on/discredited/overly analyzed) it wasn’t worded correctly and that was the biggest downfall. I remember being SO excited for COTCC to have ‘tinges’ of what she’s been pondering and I really hope RCS is the album that correlates with QFTC

Am I the only one that thinks that the QFTC was a great marketing strategy? The only reason why she didn't need to promote COCC was because she was already in everyone's mind. The media was all over her and at the end of the day, any PR is good PR. I think that she was completely right in her post, but it just came from a very immature and childish place. Most people don't see things that way and the only interpretation that they had was "I'm jealous and I need attention"

Oh my god Lana needs to give us updates because this has just devolved into discussing year old drama. In other news, I got bored and initiated a lucid dream last night to ask about the album. I don't really believe in the zodiac/witchy/dream stuff but I was desperate so I manifested Lana and asked her a bunch of questions about the release date, production and themes. She just said "I'm going to explore my femininity" and then disappeared in a puff of smoke. I'm still annoyed.

I also think we need to ban fan art off the pre release form I have personally felt victimized by the trauma of having PERFECT concept arts for Chemtrails, and getting smacked in the face with the cover she chose. The cover is cute. But if I hadn’t seen the countless beautiful (and sometimes comical (her airplane pose, but literally dressed like a plane)) ideas, maybe the final wouldn’t have been so cruel. I already see an ABUNDANCE of beautiful Rock Candy Sweet concept artwork, and I’m not going to mentally be okay when the OG reveal picture ends up being the actual album cover.

There is something wrong with the songs Jack produces..no hate but listem to Gregory Alan Isakov - San Luis. It sounds fuller and there is an atmosphere ..like its living??? Lana's vocals are stellar but Jack's production is a bit flat/dead(although beautiful).. like they dont occupy space. They just exist and there is a disjoint somehow. Maybe the mic he uses..or is it a problem in the mixing??.

Honestly idk if she considers it a failure but its pretty obvious she's moved on from it....so it kind of feels like she wouldn't care either way whether it was an overwhelming success or a flop lol

She didn't have to, but I think she really just did it to help get her point across and use examples from our culture. Most of those artists, especially Beyonce, are way more famous than her and no one bats an eye at their lyrics and the message they convey. I think she realized that and it made circumstances worse for her. If she released something like Positions, people would literally come for her neck. Ever since UV critics have it out for her and are ready to cherry pick her every move because they still feel some type of way. They couldn't accept the new perspective she challenged, or the raw, honest lyrics that didn't sugar coat her experiences. It seems that anytime Lana tries to bring forth a new perspective on women and their relationships, they shut her down. It's really fucked up tbh. I hope with RCS she really goes back to not giving a fuck (as she should). She deserves to feel empowered again with her music and I'm all for it

I am probably in the minority but I hope this album's aesthetic is not candy themed. It's been done to death, most notably by Katy Perry and Lana isn't one to follow trends created by other artists and I'd be really disappointed if she did. The aesthetic is pretty much never based on the literal meaning of her album title so I'm not too concerned that she will, but ..

I mean if we take all her lead singles: Obsessions Radioactive Froot HH Man’s World I personally rank them like this 1. Froot 2. Radioactive 3. Obsessions 4. Man’s World 5. HH Froot is undoubtedly one her of best songs if not THE best song in her discog
