i genuinely don't understand how people are listening to the new singles and don't think she's doing anything new? if anything, the new singles have ambience which isn't something we had with nfr & cotcc, text book has various tempo changes, the percussion at the end of wildflower wildfire might not be everybody's favorite but it's something different...

Between the Ol’ Man River reference in Text Book and the way she sings the word Oklahoma in Blue Banisters, I’m getting strong musical theatre vibes from this album so far. Specifically very American musicals too. I wonder if that’s intentional and something we’ll see her expand on within the album. Also it’s a shame her rendition Summertime was released so long ago now because that would work with this theme quite well. Honestly I hope it’s intentional because I’m a sucker for musical theatre references. Plus I feel like it’s often overlooked how heart-wrenching musicals can be, they’re really a perfect match for Lana.

I actually love how all these songs remind me of Hope is a dangerous thing... that song is one of my favorites for its sheer honesty and bittersweet melody... just came to realize just how great WW lyrics are.. and Blue banisters is so damn sad.. it’s kinda like realizing life goes on and some wounds just can’t seem to heal. It’s like everyone is happy and moving on but Lana still can’t seem to see past much.. no matter how optimistic she is.. kinda reminds me of the never ending heartbreak and suffering frida khalo endured until her end days.. sad shit

I don't remember who was talking about good quality headphones, but I seriously spent over 300 euros for HQ headphones last week and since then EVERY Lana song is like an INTENSE orgasm... TRUST ME, invest in good headphones (possibily with cancelling sound option) and you will not regret it. Save some money sparing with some vinyls of this biatch (i'm actually a poser because in the end I always buy every single f version of her albums) and focus also on the equipment

How can you compare the visuals of a 20s clip to a whole music video? The WD teaser looked like a cinematic masterpiece, but ended up being full of cross-faded imagery, which ruined it a bit y‘all kill me sometimes

Not caring about aesthetics ≠ greater artistic integrity. Stripped back production ≠ better music. I mourned BTD-HM Lana a long time ago but I can’t help but miss the heavy reverb, the strings, the dreamy/psychedelic production. I love NFR and Chemtrails is good but it felt like Norman but worse. These new songs are great lyrically but I can’t help but feel like they deserve better production and better vocals.

i really think that 7 minute track that mike dean posted is something w/ lana plus just because they were 3 ballads (and i don't even think TB was a ballad) doesn't mean that the whole album is going to consist of piano flops even COCC is different from NFR, and we got a brand new sound with tracks like TJF and DBJAG, she's delivering

maybe you snapped getting so annoyed with all the unprofessional shit like if you really hate promoting your stuff and being famous you could just shut up and release the album when it's done. if you only care about writing music then do just that. surprise releases are way better than just dropping random info and dates and getting people hyped and then annoyed when nothing happens i mean of course she gets people to talk like this as well when everyone is confused as f*ck but how good is that for the long run
