why i am cry-laughing over the description of "style meets PWYC" i cannot think of two more diff songs...that said i am as hype as anyone else for this, not a taylor stan by any stretch of the world but enjoy her radio singles when i hear them– i'm sure this will be a folk-bop for the ages.

Inside Taylor's head, "I can't believe I worked with Lana!" Inside Lana's head, "Taylor can't believe she worked with me!"

When we hit play on the 21st and the first thing we hear is "Rockefeller my umbrella, God I love you baby" There were so many persons in that studio one could be Taylor in disguise

I’m surprised at how interested I am in hearing this song! For me, at least, it was an unexpected turn of events even though I considered it a large possibility after the “Easter eggs.” I definitely think Lana will play a major role in some fashion. I mean, Swift called Lana her favorite female lyricist and the most influential pop artist of our generation, so I think that respect and admiration would certainly lead to her giving Lana a lot of creative input. Whether that will manifest as vocals, production touches, lyricism, or all 3 seems unclear, but I would imagine this is something Swift has been planning for and considering for quite some time, so I genuinely think that—because she almost seems to view Lana as a creative idol or major influence—Swift will want to ensure it’s executed really well. I think the main concern is how well they’ll “mesh,” but I have a feeling it’s going to be better than we’re expecting. We’ll find out soon!

I have a lot of respect for Taylor. Love her or hate her, you cannot deny her presence in the industry. She has incredible talent as a songwriter and seems to be a genius when it comes to marketing her music + creating an overall experience for her listeners. Her very vocal admiration for Lana is refreshing amidst the silence from both their contemporaries, and it’s just amazing to see two very talented women join forces!

It's passive aggressive AND she's just laughing at the announcement AND it's extremely sinister and shady and I'm almost SURE it has something to do with Lorde and probably also Patty and maybe even Rick Nowels

yikes i've been locked out of my account for like a year lol anyways apparently it's supposed to be "pop-rock with an instrumental outro. It is described as a mix of 'Style' & 'Pretty When You Cry'. HOW INTERESTING!! I can't predict in my head what it will sound like even with that description.... but I'm just excited for new Lana music, and I'm hoping this means an announcement or roll-out for LDR9 is ON THE WAY!!! https://www.instagram.com/p/Cjeri4wuE4H/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

i really think lana helped write the song. it is possible taylor just asked lana to sing with her but i doubt it since taylor really admires lana's songwriting and i imagine she'd jump at the opportunity for them to write together. plus since both taylor & lana frequently work with jack, i imagine it would be easy to all sit together and bounce ideas off each other. that would probably be half the fun of the collaboration too.

I don't know how unpopular this is cause I see some stans of this album but also a lot of people that don't like it/don't care for it but AKA is as good (and even better than some) of her major label albums

A few pages back there was this discussion about hating Taylor and the collaboration with Lana, I think beyond a justified reason to hate the collaboration, those opinions felt more like personal hatred towards the artist rather than a real reason to classify the collaboration with Taylor as a step backwards for Lana. Hating on a song that hasn't even come out yet is pretty silly, a few albums ago when Taylor was making music like 1989 or RED or even Reputation, I would have found it weird if they had collaborated, but the music Taylor has been making lately fits perfectly with Lana's aesthetic. This is a pretty objective opinion to criticize a collaboration and say "I'm not convinced" but since Taylor released her last albums not only the fans but also the media said it sounded like they had a strong inspiration in Lana, what better time to collaborate than now that Taylor's music is perfect for Lana to be a part of it. Folklore and Evermore are pretty good albums and the aesthetic that reflects Midnights looks pretty cool too. I understand that everyone has different tastes, but hating on a collaboration that hasn't come out because of personal (and non-logical) issues is pretty weird. Anyway, I am quite happy about this collaboration. It's pretty crazy, Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey on the same song. I never thought this collaboration would happen (deep down I believed every rumour that came out) seeing Taylor's excited face when she said that the collaboration was with Lana seemed very genuine and tender, she is really happy to collaborate with Lana.

From what Taylor has said about Midnights it looks like it's going to be a really personal album so I'm kinda scared Lana had little input in the song besides some improvised adlibs... but as long as she has a big part on the song I'd be fine I guess

Did any of y’all enter that competition she ran when she released Superlove and you had to upload a cover of the song and the best one would have a karaoke party with her? Did anyone win? Did it happen?

This is also what I think. Anyways, the Taylor collab is major: you just can’t « double release » with that song in the way. And everyone would be happy to have the lead when the vinyls are already in production, so the pre-release won’t drag for more than six months, with the damn vinyl « delays » / high demand.

I hope i'll get to listen to this album while being on a holiday. Idk, everytime i listen to a Lana's album while going on a trip to the beach or somewhere far away, the vibes is alway on point.

giant swiftie here since ‘06! do not fear, Taylor covers some really adult topics—not in her radio singles usually, but especially since Lover & folklore. also, she swears a lot, just didn’t as a teenager: - 6 of 13 tracks on Midnights are explicit, INCLUDING snow on the beach so LANA’S TRACK WILL BE EXPLICIT 🔥 we love to see it - 5 to 6 tracks each on folklore & evermore were explicit (same amount as NFR) - in recent tracks she’s covered heavy topics/stories including: a recovering alcoholic (this is me trying), an affair where at least one person was already married (illicit affairs & ivy), her childhood neighbor who suffered emotional and/or physical abuse as a child (seven), a stalker visiting the funeral of the woman he obsessed over (my tears ricochet), an engagement being broken off because of mental health issues (champagne problems), an emotionally abused spouse (tolerate it), overtly sexual religious metaphors (false god), world war ii violence (epiphany), and more. so we are in for a great song (and story!), that’s for sure! happy to make any non-swifties a sampler playlist if you want one

Style + PWYC make no sense AT ALL... like how you mix a pop song produced by Max Martin with an almost freestyled track with just an electric guitar and a drum set I hope I'm wrong but I think it's going to be a corny country ballad Even though the aesthetic of her album is giving me midtempo synth songs...
