Hi, everyone! I am pleased to announce to you all that the site theme for Chemtrails Over the Country Club is now live for everyone. It's been a long time coming, but my design helpers and I put a lot of thought and work into it and wanted to make sure it was just right. Just in time to celebrate Chemtrails's 4 week anniversary! after the last year, i and the rest of the world have literally no interest in hearing lana del rey discuss politics. even if she has good intentions, she has made such a fool of herself in the last year regarding her completely unprovoked and insanely ignorant commentary on feminism and race and whatever tf else she was rambling about. if she has two brain cells to rub together, she should know it would be in her best interest to steer clear of anything too political. esp bc her "social commentary" and "contemplations" are fuckin NUTS. lana BEEN del rey

PTP is everything I wanted from her. I really like it. The lyrics are a little bit too on the nose for me but it's quirky and crazy like TFJ meets FROOT. I rather have crazy sjw Marina than the boring and bland L+F Marina.

The funny part is, I had already started working on the theme with the sunset idea & red car before LDR Village launched! I'm a mind reader xx

I’d love if Lana pulled off the June 1st date! I also agree that Blue Banisters is likely the lead single, and going by the 20 day theory of White Dress it makes sense it’ll be out the 30th! But at least with White Dress we had some confirmation of what it was...so far we’re completely in the dark..she only posted one picture on Instagram and then vanished..didn’t give a ‘excited for my new single/poem/whatever it may be’ didn’t give a date, and the Blue Banister picture wasn’t even posted to Facebook or Twitter...it seems like it was a very spur of the moment thing that she posted just because maybe she was greenlit the song coming out and she got excited and announced it early?? as excited as I am for whatever it is, I’m getting antsy for any kind of follow up information instead of the silence

This! Honestly, I am so hoping for a track that mirrors the sarcastic quips in Money Power Glory. I remember reading about how Lana knew MPG would be taken literally and that she was almost resigned with the assumptions that would be made despite it being very pointed and sardonic. It's interesting how this point in her career is almost reminiscent of the Ultraviolence era through the critics' accusations of her alleged inauthenticity and blatant apathy. I would argue that Rock Candy Sweet is just as deceiving of a title as MPG, and I'm really intrigued to see if she purposely picks a deceptively "sweet-sounding" soundscape or if she'll go full force with production that highlights the bitterness she's felt recently.

COTCC is everything but apolitical (theres actually no thing as apolitical, as politics refer to power relationships and they're present in every aspect of human life). The whole album's narrative is the dilemma between the lights and shadows of privilege. Living in precary conditions or being able to look to the world from the comfort of a mansion arent things that happen from spontaneous generation, but that rely on the very existence of inequality, which is the root of political dynamics itself. The fact that the album presents those topics in an apparently unproblematic, naturalised way, doesnt make them less politic or conflictive, just makes it harder to look deeper into their social connotations.

Yes! I’m sorry, I’m so late to this but yes, Kali Uchis released Sin Miedo on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 10 AM PST which I thought was unusual, since albums are generally released on Friday, and she also released that record under Interscope. But since she did it, I don’t see why Lana - an artist who really can do whatever she wants without worrying too much about it - couldn’t! Also haven’t been on here lately but I just wanna say I’m so excited for Blue Banisters! I really do think it’s a song, the lead single from Rock Candy Sweet. The format was the same as White Dress’s teasers and I think if she were to tease a poem, she would just post her typewritten page-scans or post a spoken-word visual. Since she posted it on the 10th, I feel like it’s going to come on April 30th or sometime next month! Can’t wait!

I feel like Lana likes to be mysterious, but that's not exactly the best thing when she says we're getting an album on June 1st and then nothing comes of it. I do think the June 1st date would be interesting with it being the first day of metrological summer (and also marilyn monroe's birthday, someone who we all know has been an influence to her) despite the fact that it's not on a Friday

The amount of timelines/extensive searching for code/shazam/potential collaborations....this is a full time job.

I'll be excited if a rollout starts. But I'm not expecting anything tbh. She's played with our hearts one too many times.

logging on to share my latest delusion so i was watching an interview from btd era and she talks about working with the philadelphia orchestra then i got to thinking of her post back in november to support the philharmonic orchestra aka the same time she submitted chemtrails and begun working on new music.... strings, drama, lush cinematic flavor for this album confirmed?? i think it’s time to manifest a paradise 2.0 instead of uv 2.0 ladies- electric guitars and strings the best of both worlds

When you agree with both points of view and don't know which side to choose... I agree with COCC being apolitical, but it can be extremely political if you're used to seeing the world through this lens. Even breathing can be political if you have this point of view. The fact that Lana is privileged should never be used against her unless it is to complain that she has enough access to education and still refuses to educate herself. Money or safety should never be used as an excuse for ignorance and even less to silence someone about those subjects

Wait. I've just realised now why Hypocrates sound is so "sweet" (which I despised at first and reminded me of a random silly love song). If she indeed is referring to her father, the song sound was supposed to be sweet and childlike, reminiscent of a childhood of a vulnerable girl. I know what I'm saying might seem silly but it's a groundbreaking theory for me and probably many since this is the most overhated track from Electra Heart.

Lana for sure knows how to create a buzz: Step 1: Post a picture that could be the announcement of a new song Step 2: Watch your fans speculate for days Step 3: After that, watch your fans having a melt-down Bonus: Between those steps make sure to have some pictures of you hanging out with your friends and singing with your new bestie Nikki, but don't interact with anyone

I know I'm bumping this really really OLD comment and sorry for that I was reading the old messages when some old tracks leaked cause i was looking for the OG dl links and i thought it was really interesting what you said about the family jewels being flimsy cause it's actually the opposite, at least IMHO in romance languages, "family jewels" are a figurative way to refer to male genitalia and this is why i think it's such a clever title... like, TFJ literally means balls but if you're an english listener you don't know that cause it's not as spread as in other languages and as for the literal meaning, there's a running theme of royalty in TFJ, as referenced by the background of the album, the EP crown jewels etc (i do think this royal aspect is played up for laughs basically, cause she was kinda poor) which ties in with her own direct family and how the album is basically about her relationship with her father, with success and with growing up i don't think that TFJ, both as a concept, title or album, is flimsy. even if she did come up with the overall concept late in the game, it's still quite clever

Sometimes I wonder what y'all really want from her. We complain about her being boring and now we complain about her being too much. I really don't understand. PTP is no different than songs like Hermit The Frog or Can't Pin Me Down. This is the same Marina who wrote Hollywood or Mowgli's Road and let's not start with some of her weird/messy unreleased songs.

i don't think it was necessarily "toxic", but he was obviously very conservative and wanted her to do live/do a certain job - her sister is a doctor, so i'm guessing he just wanted her to be as "high achieving" too and saw the arts as something that's not. it's just that old school way of thinking, thus she obviously resisted/rebelled and it damaged their relationship.

She should steer clear of politics, and almost everything is political today. That's why I think COCC succeeded: it's apolitical. She may want to get 'revenge,' presumably on her critics, but let's face it, they will counterattack in a huge and endless way. She doesn't even have to address them in any sense to be endlessly attacked and condemned by them.

Marina's social media posts tend to be cringy. Nothign terrible about it, but it kind of reflects someof her kitschy sjw-lyrics. Case closed. Not really worth fighting over it for the sake of it.

I love MAC so much, it's objectively one of her best songs ever. The second pre-chorus' line You can see my heart burning in the distance with its nod to the album's cover with the burning in the background almost always makes me head over to Violet and listen to LA Who Am I to Love You afterwards and it all just fits so perfectly together I could cry. When Thunder leaked, I compared its bridge to The greatest's burn out. Fire and burning have always been used stylistically for passion. So in a way and very indirectly she tells us with the cover not only about her awareness of environmental issues, but also how much she still loves the city despite the complex relationship she shares with it. Probably reaching and it also could have already been talked about here. It nonetheless makes me so happy to find something, that intertwines all her projects with each other in such a way.

Well this is disappointing. They clearly used the VB tank top for the picture and didn’t bother adjusting it. Tho in the description it’s nowhere mentioned that it’s cropped.

i feel like her being on vacation getting a tan right now means she's about to drop something when she gets back to LA and start promo if she's not already like filming in hawaii or something.. maybe wishful thinking
