I want the rush of finding out song titles by changing various characters in a Shazam link and compiling roughly 12-14 new songs into a supposed track list that I can share and fangirl about

she will turn it into a jazzy, rock anthem with instruments like horns and production reminiscent of 24

Omg courtney made a meme about jack sampling wild at heart on the lorde track….does this mean lana will weigh on? How will this effect the album? Grabbing popcorn

I hope so and I also hope she didn't turn it into a piano ballad

qftc 2.0 is coming i fear now that taylor swift, st. vincent, clairo, the chicks, and lorde have produced hit albums with jack antonoff, can i please go back to singing about coffee pots, smoking cigarettes, loving lots like polka dots, and being wild at heart, without being copied or saying that i'm glamourizing jack antonoff?

I agree, and I don’t think Lana is necessarily a fan of people making similar music to her *especially* if they previously voiced their distaste for her music and didn’t bother to rectify such comments Although I’m not an avid listener or a fan, I think Lorde is a great musician, but I also think she should make music that sounds like...well, Lorde! I feel like after NFR, a lot of people wanted to create their own versions of that record and maybe I’m biased because it’s Lana, but nothing beats the original.

Part of the reason why we lost interest in COCC is because of her announcement of RCS the day after Chemtrails was released. But I’ve listened to it today, from cover to cover, and it is a stunning piece of work for a quiet summer day at home. As of now, BB could be Chemtrails’s little sister, for a beautiful evening at the cabin.

friendly reminder, nikki lane didn't steal lana's chord progression/melody and recycle it for another alt. girl breaking up slowly would've been improved if it was structured differently & if it wasn't as short hard rock collab album that's NOT produced by jack antonoff featuring lana, nikki, & courtney is coming!

(this is getting off-topic) unless lorde & lana are both aware that their songs are very similar and they're okay with it, i find it incredibly ridiculous that jack antonoff can't come up with something original for all of the different artists he works with? i heard a little snippet of lorde's new song in courtney love's meme post and it sounds exactly like wild at heart, how did they let that slide? if lana wasn't aware of this, i'd imagine she'd be quite pissed, her work is her work and it's sad that a producer who is capable of so much more is basically recycling, especially when it's already used for another artist's work

Lana announced the Chemtrails preorder a few days after that Jack charity livestream so maybe she'll do the same this time. She will post (again) the Bleachers album cover on the 30th and a couple of days after she will post her stuff. You heard it here first

I DIED when I saw that post, every meme was actually very "with it" humor

i feel like that's a bad idea, considering lorde & lana's history unless i'm out of the loop and they're friends or something also just the idea of "borrowing" or being heavily inspired by somebody else's work and making it some sort of easter egg is strange, in my opinion

This is now a Jack AntoNOff hate account. Come up with something new: Glad she ditched him for Blue Banisters, which will be another gem in her catalog. Her Joni serve.

She must be thinking that not caring whether she charts or not is nonconforming lol.

It was made in July 2019 at least, and WAH has Hope's melody and HTD's instrumental, so Stoned is still a sampled piece of lazy work.

"I'll nourish you hazily..." sorry guys idk what thread this technically belongs in (ig updates? pre release? random convo? help ), but I just edited the selfie + hydrangeas from her most recent ig post like they could be for the BB album shoot, these are the vibes I'm trying to manifest and when I saw the pics that lyric immediately came to mind

Lana Del Rey wrote Wild At Heart in a LFL session... Then she tryed to work the song for NFR! but she scrapped it. The final song was produced at 2019.

Why do I feel like cocc was released three years ago and we've been waiting for LDR8 for a year?

Sorry no. They dont resemble COCC in the slightest. Only the tempo. Her vocals, her phrasing and the production itself are vastly different from COCC.

when lorde sings “and the music you loved at 16 one day you’ll grow out of” (paraphrasing the lyrics because I can’t remember them exactly) it’s the exact same melody as “I was reading slim Aaron’s and I got to thinking that I thought..” its in a different key but it’s still the exact same melody (the same piano line that is through hope as well). The other bits of stoned don’t feel akin to hope but that one bit is exactly the same. (I know this is off topic, also I’m not trying be a smarty, I just wanted to point out the one element of the song that seems lifted from lana most blatantly. I still like stoned, don’t get me wrong! It’s a nice song)

I want to be delulu and just imagine Lana giving us "Vevo Live Sessions" just like Ariana is doing with positions and Billie with the singles she has released... It'd be fun tbh.

I know it’s off topic but re: the Lorde talk- She did say that she made this album to “amuse [her] peers” and that she wanted certain musicians to listen to it, text her, and say “I see what you did there”. So, I wonder if the similarities between her new stuff and Lana’s signature sound/lyricism is deliberate...

Every few weeks when we don't have new info, this thread always turns into Jack discussion, that discussion usually being people talking shit about him. It's like clockwork at this point - it's not really a good or bad thing (personally, I'm very neutral about Jack, I don't love him but I don't hate him), just something that's bound to happen

What’s funny is that everyone thinks he sampled WAH for Lorde’s new song, but that’s actually the opposite, he sampled Stoned for WAH. Stoned was made in May of 2019 and WAH around August. Which actually makes more sense, because WAH already sampled HTD. I wouldn’t be surprised if both Lana and Lorde knew about the sample and didn’t mind.

I'm excited for the track where she loves n focuses on herself and doesn't sound like she needs to belong to anyone else.

I know it’s not BB related, but I will have to lower my expectations on Lana’s part on the two Bleachers songs. I mean, can we even hear her?!!

I'm really bad at describing music or picking the right genres. But if I had to describe the three singles and the new snippet, I would say they're jazzy poems if that makes sense. Especially the beginning of the songs remind me of poetry slam or performance poetry. They sound quite consistent to me, so I expect the whole album to be stripped-down and very wordy. I also think that she is going to delve deeper into her psyche and reflect how she became the person she is today and tell the true story behind some of her controversies. But you never know with Miss Del Rey. Maybe after having scrapped most of the songs, TB / BB / WW might not be an indicator of how the album will sound. And having become an aunt and having split from Clay might lead her creativity in a totally new direction Edit: Maybe Chuck's baby is named Angelina and Cherry Blossom will be dedicated to her

I love i talk 2 jesus omg... like i actually think it might be her saddest and most unsettling song I'm an atheist and in my view, the song doesn't rly spark evangelical vibes. What is rly palpable and moving is the sheer regret in the song (a theme that just seems so uncommon or like half-assed in most music? Like if ur gonna talk abt regret, u better evoke gut-wrenching depression chasm or not at all) I just relate hardcore - first to what seemed like depression+suicidality but then to what the song actually is: ruminating over agonising regret (ppl don't need to be Christian to relate to that, unfortunately) Also, as a fan of some of Johnny Cash's work, I was familiar w his 'I Talk to Jesus Every Day' - it's V evangelical and self-righteous and Lana's song interestingly has an opposite effect: she "talks to jesus" when she literally has no other option - there is no undoing the past but she still begs for it in vain and i do understand and can have a soft spot for people who rely on religion (or whatever else - drugs? therapy?) to deal w reality Edit: OH! also the parallels to pin up galore can she hurt me any more?????
